  1. as @shaneh said, he's not even reaching, i don't really think he ever reaches, rather the handle stays in the same spot and he skis away from that spot briefly at the apex giving the illusion he is reaching
  2. @wtrskior "port" and "starboard" to describe which arm we are talking about would solve all problems
  3. you really want to advance, go talk to people who know what the hell they are talking about--aka @sethski stisher......matt rini......marcus brown/terry winter
  4. smashed my talus/calcaneous together nicely causing fractures, and bad sprain of deltoid ligament and a few smaller ligaments--- chose not to do surgery as both orthos agreed that soft tissue would heal ok and the fractures would migrate back to where they came from....non-weight bearing for 3 months, skiing in 4 months and back to 100% in about 2 years
  5. I havn't seen arms that long since I visited the zoo, and what about that head position did the left trap seize up on the way to 5?
  6. 4@39 @36 is much better skiing than 1@41 @34, period.
  7. ask @liquidd he's been taping up since he was 9
  8. I see nothing wrong with the method @shaneh used to critique....it was clear, understandable and most importantly gave the skier a visual frame of reference rather than just a bunch of verbage strung together........pretty sure Bill Belacheck didn't play pro football
  9. @bishop8950 is spot on, however...... utterly useless conversation without video
  10. the problem with the boat driving in the video that I think @shaneh is pointing out is that the driver lets the skier pull him over at least 4" as the skier approaches each buoy, but before the skier is actually at the buoy the driver moves back towards center so all of that boat movement was for not.....he's getting over to the skiers side early enough so as not to move into the skier but he is moving away too soon....at that point, you might as well hang out over there for awhile, let the skier hook up and then move back to center
  11. @rq0013 I think it looks great, your upper body is right over the top of the ski which is really hard to do, most people have their shoulders and weight considerable further back. The one thing I notice is that as you approach the first wake on both sides, your shoulders are ahead of your hips. I believe the shoulders are in the correct position however you need to go ahead and get your hips underneath them. It should start sooner, right out of the turn so that you can be nice and stacked approaching the wakes which will allow you to keep that direction outbound past the second wake much easier. Again, don't lean your shoulders back to correct the alignment issue, rather, mover your hips underneath by opening up your shoulders a bit more to the boat and straighten the arms out.
  12. Marcus has a solid 5 sets under his belt at 36mph this year....all in the last week, all passes at 13m.....he has sacrificed a lot for his passion and a great company he believes in, he will be happy to carve a few turns in the tourney
  13. @kelvin in my entire career I have probably had 3 judges come up to me and tell me that i missed my gates so watch it next time....biggest waste of breath ever uttered
  14. New Rule(s): 1. the boat judge should never actually call a made/miss gate, you are only fooling yourself if you actually think you can be accurate---- @skimom circa 1986 berkley aquatic park that one still hurts 2. to further ensure this fact, the boat judge must drink 1 shot of kilo kai per pass 3. in reference to the nearest shore judge(s), in regards to a miss/made uncertainty or if the gate is actually called "out" a decision based on iron clad video must be made by the time the skier is pulled up out of the water for their next pass--perhaps an extra 30 seconds is added on to the timer 4. if this decision is not made, the skier gets the benefit of the doubt and all judges involved will need to take a swig off of their respective kilo kai bottles 5. the gates will still be video reviewed and this review will be streamed on to ballofspray @horton where we will all place bets on whether or not the gate was made. 6. with the proceeds from this racket, we will vote to either purchase state of the art sensory equipment for gate detection, or, buy more kilo kai for the tournaments while in support of the current inept system
  15. @bishop8950 it was a wake up call for me since we really couldn't see how nasty it was from the dock, don't worry I've layed plenty of eggs....and it gave badal just enough time to kindly take out about 6 inches from the length of my handle
  16. it was great having @drago in the boat, always nice when an elite skier gives you a compliment...especially when you are barely able to run your opener....just wish @drago would of suited up!
  17. must of been all of the elite coaching from @horton ....@shaneh congrats!
  18. @liquid d is right, boat path makes all the difference in the world...I saw nate balls to the wall full out going for it at shortline a few weeks ago with a straight boat path, inside 3 ball by about 5 feet...if the driver would of given 4-6" at each buoy there is a decent chance he would of been outside of 3 ball
  19. just put a bottle of Kilo Kai on top of 5 ball, @horton would never hit it again
  20. thanks @horton I knew you'd pull thru for me
  21. The starting dock had an end course video monitor and of course I had to watch it for a few skiers when Will Bush was driving. I watched 3 skiers in a row, the boat was never off center by more than an inch, incredible driving. More importantly, Will drove for Nate on his near record so there is a good chance the boat path was as straight as a Grizzly's dick. Who's to say what he could do if the driver moved the boat a bit. I would like to see every driver who is pulling one of the big 3's---Parrish, Asher, Nate drive exactly how Will Bush does, straight down the middle. But of course if you happen to be one of those drivers reading this forum please do not be afraid to move the boat for the rest of us schmucks.
