  1. Horton, is this you? http://www.comedycentral.com/videos/index.jhtml?videoId=224491&title=police-helicopter
  2. Richard, Fairfield is about an hour west and Modesto is about an hour and half drive south. I thought Copes went out of business. Water Ski World is our closest dealer. Maybe we could get a couple demos in there when production is up and running. This is a pretty big ski market with a bunch of man made lakes, the Sacramento River and Folsom Lake. We can ski year round. Almost completely dominated by D3.
  3. I have not seen any radar products in Sacramento. I am not sure why. It would be nice to try them. Eddie and Herb have always been great for the sport.
  4. Shane, did it still feel as stable without the wing? Any trouble slowing down?
  5. ski6jones, I settled on .798, 2.514, 6.855 tips and 30" ft binding and 8 degrees wing. I'm on D3 bindings. This setting feels best to me. Very stable and forgiving but still easy to get wide. I'm 210#, 34mph. 68.5 Elite Stock is binding 30 inches from tail, 6.855 (using tips of caliper) length, 2.510 and .795 dft (distance from tail). Drew Ross gave me a starting point of 6.850 tips, 2.510 and .800. Chet Raley told me to start at 6.735 jaws, 2.515 and .800. I hope this helps. The web page for elite settings is: http://www.obrieneliteblog.com/ski/display.php
  6. I went there a few years ago and it was great. Very knowledgable, freindly and a great ski site.
  7. Ward, you and your wife are in our prayers. Be strong for her. Dave
  8. This makes me laugh every time I watch it. ÂÂ
  9. I am not sure there will ever be a product that will prevent an ankle or foot from being broken when you center punch a buoy at 38 off. I could be wrong.
  10. Loft, I drilled and dremeled another hole to allow me to move my D3 bindings further back.
  11. All I remember seeing is a boat underneath me and my dad on top of you. I am not sure what you two were doing.
  12. The trailer is great! I think I skied with Brad many years ago near Murray Bridge, S.A. I may have some photos of him at a wild animal park with Snag. Are you familiar with this place Horton?
  13. I thought cold water was more dense and caused the ski to plane higher or ride higher in the water for the same boat speed. An airfoil creates more lift in cold dense air but drag is always a bi-product of lift. Is that what you guys are saying? Colder water creates more drag even though the ski rides higher?
  14. As I said, I don't want to disrespect anyone or take away from their accomplishment. I am just a skeptic. You hear about movable slalom courses, guys that only ski well on their own lake, six foot + handles, etc.. and these are all in the USA.
  15. No disrespect meant but when someone you never heard of does some incredible thing it makes you wonder. Boat path video would be good also. Please measure the rope. We have heard of some shaningans with that lately, switch rope, no switch rope, long handle, etc.. I appologize ahead of time. Maybe it is my job that makes me question things that seem not right. Almost everyone lies to me.
  16. I think I know what you are saying. I ski with a doctor who always tells me to start earlier from wide and turn my shoulders away from the turn I am about to make and start very easy and get good angle without speed into 1. P.S. I saw ghost skier last week and now your thread is a lot funnier.
  17. I agree with DanE only one move at a time or you won't know what did what. I am sure you have already messed with tip (overall fin length). I recently moved my front binding one hole back and the ski started biting more at the end of my turn. Good luck.
  18. Eric, please post pictures of your homemade bindings and skis. I think everyone would be interested in seeing them. Dave
  19. Just watched it. Great skiing. Skidawg makes it look easy.
  20. Nice photo! Good job Ward and Horton it is about time. Please post the UPS tracking number. I am not paying the invoice for 4375 JYN (I assume that is Yen).

Welcome everyone, except Horton. I guess we let him comment because it is his website. Try to ignore him anyway. Congrats skidawg on tying the record! Horton will be sending you a second shirt for your new record.

I am on a 68.5 but I am not great with fin adjustments. I set it up for 34 mph. SJ or skidawg may be able to help. Both Drew and Chet gave me .800 as a starting point. You may want to try moving it back. If that does not calm it down and the first setting you tried was better, i would go back to your original numbers.
  24. you don't get as good of a deal with Horton. He will invoice you for someone elses t-shirt even after you have sent him a check for the cost of the shirt.
