  1. Sry Guy.s & Gals, starting think, is this thread for real or is somebody pulling our chain ?
  2. My recomendation, is to seek out a water ski club/venue near where you live, pay for lessons, they will have you up and skiing in no time, clearly the boat/driver/equipment etc, something is not helping, most venues will have some half decent skis, a boat driver that has pulled numerous beginners, plus somebody who can give adequate land lessons. When I give land lessons , even 200 pounds is not a problem done correctly , I can get you into the squatting position with one hand. It very much sounds like you are tense and fighting the boat, repetitive land lessons will help you relax and go with the boat, furthermore land lessons, generally do not cost any money, people are always willing to help first timers.
  3. Keeping you arms straight, sit in a Armchair, I ask you what do you have to do to stand up without using your arms, figured it out yet ? basically you have to let your feet move back so that you can stand on them, by just using your legs and not your arms, the pull of the boat should roll you up in a squatting position , but you have to make sure the skis do not go straight under you, once you are in the squatting position, with your feet under you, keeping your arms straight ,use your legs to slowly stand on the skis, there is no rush to do so. Once standing on the skis, with your back straight, flex your knees forward over your ankles this will help to stabilise the skis
  4. Slumps normally come, when you have over skied or tired, take a few days off, then when you go back, Front Foot everywhere, chest up, stay calm. Generally works for me, when it goes wrong and I am tired, I get on the back of the ski, whether it be arms or stance, normally that's where the problem is.
  5. @coach3 Was it really that bad ? Loving my 2023 Vapor Pro !
  6. Conversation with Nate, to run 41off you need the perfect gate, the window for error is very small, the gate shot has to be spot on. Pressure of competition and varying water / wind conditions added to the equasion, makes it harder.
  7. His Dad "Sotiris Kyprios" is a well known and successful skier in Europe, they have their own ski school in Poros/Greece, one hour by hydrofoil from Piraeus Port/Athens. http://passage.gr
  8. Lol! I went to a Andy Mapple clinic where he was setting up people with the Reflex, three sets and numerous adjustments followed by numerous pre releases. Andy Mapple says to me, "Hey Stevie probably better to stick with the Rubber" In my opinion from what I have seen the Syndicate system, it looks a bit more robust, especially the front boot holder, a lot of the problems with pre release, on other makes is because of the toe holder flexing.
  9. Still not quite sure what to do myself, my struggles with tearing rtp rubber continues, I have recently seen a ferry good skier using the reflex r style rear, he is one foot start and easily slips his rear foot in by not tighten the clamps, just adjusting them to the right level, he wears a rear liner. Not as bulky as the other r stye bindings. The only thing I am not sure about, is the reason people change to a rtp, is it so that they have the freedom to lift their heel or is it to allow side to side movement freeing the hips up or both ?
  10. @buechsr Thankyou could not remember where I had seen it.
  11. Hi Guy,s Looking for video, includes fin checking and fiddling by weird guy on the dock, other antics as well Sure it was something to do with swervemaster It was taking the.mickey out of people turn up and play with.or check their ski.
  12. "Now I gotta sit on the shore with all the broke dicks" Nice ! There maybe people less fortunate, than some, but I am sure most of them are good people.
  13. Worth replacing before the season starts, I don,t know about the prostar but on a nautique the tone of the engine changes, it becomes a bit more throaty, giving you a indication.it needs to be replaced. Let me think, do I want to take the pain and replace it, or do I want to potentially damage the engine, umm🙄
  14. It doesn't really matter what ski Terry is riding, it's always going to look good!
  15. Lovely looking boat, you Lucky Lucky man, Enjoy ! I know somebody who was born with Nautique running through his veins, he was Mr Nautique and looking to buy a new boat. To my Amazement he turned up at his Lake with a Brand New Mastercraft Prostar, really nice boat. When I asked why, a Mastercraft, he replied the fixtures, fitting and finish was so much better, than what he was looking at elsewhere.
  16. With all skis, unless you are very good at being able to determine, what you feel the ski is or not doing for you, coming off of a different ski, it might be worth taking a little time on stock settings to see if you adapt or whether your style requires a adjustment to the fin, it,s not always the ski, sometimes it,s the person standing on it , it comes down to what the ski feels like for you. Maybe look at some video or explain to respected skiers what you are feeling and see if they come back with a possible solution, somebody else,s settings are not always going to work for you. It,s nice to know what somebody else is using for reference, even better if you understood why they made those changes. Speed and Optimum line length may also come into play.
  17. Lets's face it TWBC is the REAL DEAL ! We are so lucky these Guy's are creating such a good Webcast, Waterskiing owes them so much ! Lake 38 Fabulous Webcast, Great Hosts, Great Competition.
  18. I know the price of boats is eye watering, but it's about how long you intend to keep it, and it's about the value when you sell it, never going to make you money, realistically how much does a new boat devalue, if you look after it ? $35,000 in one year seems a lot.
  19. Looking forward to another great webcast from TWBC, I noticed that Will Asher is not on the start list, hope it's not down to injury, it's going to be a Great Competition.
  20. If you want to take part in the Greatest Show in water skiing, clearly the Masters is not it. Think they done Freddie a favour, more enjoyable places to strut your stuff, Swiss, Miami and many others. The competition in Greece last year, was what this sport needs, have a party and invite the Best Skiers in the World to compete.
  21. For what it is worth, I am a strong boy and used to use my arms a lot, it totally screws you up, I overcame the issue by by letting the ski finish the turn and make sure you have the connection and position and let the boat take you across course. In you try to force the turn or turn and burn, you will end up.using your arms. Garranteed a Big OTF at some.point.
  22. Always on a RTP, odd size feet so always having to modify rubber, the other thing is you cannot always guarantee foot in the same.place every time. Most.peoples natural .stance.is with rear.foot canted slightly, the RTP does let your rear foot find the right position, hip.and knee movement freedom, kinder on your knees. Reference fitment, HO and Radar have Adjustable RTP with the fine adjustment that you rotate, no laces to keep on.adjusting, handy for different temps and changing foot size, if travelling to warmer or colder climates, thinking more consistent with foot placement. I regularly tear the rubber, have come up with a suitable replacement that I manufacture, generally retail you have to buy the whole plate, rubber not sold seperately Waiting for HO ATOPS Adjustable to arrive, skiers I know have switched to it and like it, seems fairly durable.
  23. @Horton sry, bored on a beach in Greece. Should of put 2&2 together you looked pretty good on the KD. Sry Ballers screwed up again.
  24. @Horton sry hear about your injury, it sounds really unpleasant, skiing with a nasty injury doesn't end well, your brain is going to override and take control, you will end up skiing defensively, your brain will only let you ski either side of the injury, fact. Result is you end up in poor position or the wrong place at some point. A lot of skiers have had injuries they think have ended their skiing days, but still ski today. Example ; Aiden Willers Give yourself time to heal, plenty of 28 off, a line length you are comfortable with. Not only physical but let your body and mind regain confidence,to allow yourself to ski freely. Takes time, do not rush, you have nothing to prove here. I wish you a full and successful rehab. I have found in the past, unless it is unavoidable, various supports or aids become more of a hinderance, working on the principle of use it or lose it
  25. @Horton has concerns about your back foot, I noticed that you are double booted, be interesting to know how far apart your feet are, a possible modification to the rear plate could get them closer and reduce heel lift. Just a thought!
