  1. @jayski The Warp for me and others I knew that rode it into short line was always an unbelievable ski on my onside, but really lacked on the offside no matter what I did. The MC has the same onside and a great offside turn as well. It is very balanced. If for some reason I got the front of the Warp in deep it would push back at the end of the turn causing me to lose ground at times or get into the habit of falling back on my heels to try and avoid it. The MC just keeps moving and seems to not push back at all. The Warp would absolutely not blow the tail no matter what I did wrong, which certainly helped build confidence. Haven't pushed the MC that hard yet so not sure if it will or won't blow the tail, but hasn't so far. The Warp for me took an incredible amount of effort to ski even at my lightest and I had to load from the time I got my hand back on the handle til I took it off. The MC takes little effort and I don't start to load until I'm into the foam most of the time. When you do load it accelerates instantly. It is much easier on my body. Both are great skis. I can tell you each person that drives for me is smiling when I'm on the MC because their job is much easier. Ask @Moskier3ev the difference he felt pulling me.
  2. Rode Warps for a long time and really enjoyed it. Good people. I have several in the garage. On an MC right now and it equals or exceeds everything my Warp did well, but also does the things my Warp wouldn't do well. The quality is out of this world. Everywhere I have taken it people gawk at the finish and quality. Buying this ski was very similar to the Warp experience. Very much a product built for you. Also rode a 67" V Type R prototype. Gonna turn some heads. Really good.
  3. @SkiItUp Best guy I have ever seen ski in your size range is Steve Raphael. (Mongo) He is not quite as tall as you. Could run 38off at 34 right up til he switched divisions and dropped down to 32mph last year. He skis on a Goode wide ride. I believe he just got a new one built a few months ago.
  4. Seems to be something our sport is missing when the final can get cut short due to a gate call. I'm not sure what the best option is, but positive most casual spectators just walk away even colder than we all did after something like that. The two best guys on the weekend didn't get to battle it out. After waiting for that specifically for two days it kinda sucks. I know there are those that will say the others didn't miss it and I agree when your setting a record, but the show must go on and be exciting or eventually people stop watching. Maybe there is some compromise in the final four of a head to head or something. Great job on the webcast @Kelvin As usual it keeps getting better every time you do it. Even when there were issues, I was impressed how quickly your team sorted them out. Hope to see you at the Pro Am. Not sure @horton has your entry yet, but figuring that just the mail service being slow. :) Thanks Again
  5. @Kelvin I will owe you big time if you can make sure the webcast is up going bright and early for U17 Saturday morning. I know sometimes its hard to get started and the first few may get missed. I'm along way away and counting on the webcast to see my girl ski. Bummed I'm not there. Hope it's a great event and everyone has a great time.
  6. For anyone else that may need a hotel there are several in Buda, TX, which is about 10 mins from our site. There are also hotels near the Austin airport and in downtown, which is 20 mins. Since it's an ACL festival weekend I would expect the ones closer to Austin and the airport to potentially be full. If you have trouble finding rooms closer to us try San Marcos, TX, which is 30 min South of the lake.
  7. @horton He will be ok. @ShaneH stories are a little exaggerated sometimes. Stange's dog drinks Crown not some pricey scotch.
  8. @ShaneH No mention of rd 3? I thought it was close to a tournament PB?
  9. I think Miami Ski Nautique has 66" skis in stock unless they sold out already.
  10. @horton ur probably right, but gonna see what I can do.
  11. S2 over the others. Better yet, wait two more months and get a Vtype on sale. Blows away those options.
  12. @skidawg yes. I'm going back to SA Friday until about a week before the event but new ski is going with me and I will be ready when I get back.
  13. A few open skiers waiting to hear if they will have slalom at the World Cup stop on the same dates in Malaysia
  14. Best thing I ever use was Tarn X jewelry cleaner. Just a small amount in the bottom of a spray bottle and fill the rest with water. Spray on wipe around and quickly spray off. then hit it with soapy water. I grew up on the Chester river on the Chesapeake and it is known as a body of water leaves brown stains. The pro boat detailers used this trick. Don't leave it on long. The brown will run right off.
  15. Griffen having his first celebration cocktail (Shirley Temple on the house) with one of his coaches @Superchicken @TFIN should get some cred too but not here for the photo. http://i695.photobucket.com/albums/vv313/marcaustin11/Mobile%20Uploads/image_2.jpg
  16. Boom, just broke it with a score of 2.5 @ 39 at nationals. Atta boy Grif. Crushed 38 and was early at 3.
  17. @SkiLady There isn't many people riding the 65 so not too much info. If you want to keep working on it glad to give the numbers we ended up with. Ski is killing it now, but with the wrong settings was tough.
  18. Man there is a lot of speculation going on here. @spitzleyj How about we start with what ski your on and what are your current settings? What speed and line length you getting too when this problems occurs? @deke Think your right. Maybe this original post was just a setup to watch the diagnosis run wild. One thing is clear. We tried everything above except for sanding bevels. Sand paper anyone?
  19. Really proud of Griffin Stange today for tying the B2 national record with 2@39. He came close at our tourny on Thursday night running 1.5 twice. Put's him with some elite company like Tyler Scott who in spite of his old man @Chad_Scott is as solid a young man as you can find anywhere so pretty dam cool.
  20. I spent most of my high school year hoping to date a certain young lady with no success. Finally a few weeks before leaving for college I convinced her to come with us skiing. This was 1986 so my memory is not so great but my 3rd pass behind my buddies Ski Tique I popped the handle hard. The handle went flying into the boat along with a lot of rope. She got rope burns all over her legs, which in the end seemed to be the harmless part since the handle hit her right in the face giving her a huge black eye. I'm not sure we have spoken since as she lost interest in me quick. Not as good as one of Shane's stories. The best part was her dad calling mine trying to understand what happened the next day.
  21. @Stevie Boy I just rode one for the first time yesterday. To say this ski is great is cutting it way short. My Warp is officially retired and I am interested/excited about skiing again. Wasn't getting any tip rise. Had at least 5-6 people asking me how to get one to try. I'm not ready to let anyone try this one yet. My boots are stuck on it.
  22. This is simply the V type evolving. The other companies do the same thing. I would be disappointed if a company wasn't trying to improve. @ToddL not sure we will let you back with your camera next year. That pvc ski rack on my Polaris is a proprietary design and I didn't want that on the web.
  23. @OB tell the group in Allentown I said hello and that they should let me know if they visit Texas so I can make sure I'm out of town. Jokes aside, good group of people up there and great memories. Skied for several years at a private site, Fox Run Farm in Bernville, PA. Awesome place.
  24. @MattP He shook on it. Where I'm from he breaks that bond the boys stop by to make an attitude adjustment. Maybe start with shaving his new long hair thing he has going on.
