  1. @webbdawg99 hopefully that won't happen again, but your going to have to use the airlines sometime. I have to travel a lot with my ski and I actually try to leave as much air in the tube side to side as possible. I think I told you about my trip to the Colorado Big Dawg a few years back. My tube was crushed much worse than your pics and I was sure my Warp 8 was destroyed. I think because I didn't have it wrapped and packed tight with so much padding it was fine and is still skiable today. All I put on my ski is the Eagle ski sock with fin protector and drop it in the tube. I put my tool bag in the bottom handle, vest and gloves. I would say I fly with it on average about 20 times per year and have been lucky to never had one broken, but between Bailey and I we have had a few crushed tubes. May just be luck. Since we're dropping airline stories, I did have one stolen out of the bag once. My KD7000 was taken right out of the bag. They left a brand new accuski system, dry suit etc. The airline paid me for the ski and I used that money to buy one of the 1st 9100's from some new company at the time with the really light skis. (The equipment in this story shows my age) two months later they caught the guy trying to sneak the ski out of the Philadelphia airport and I ended up getting the KD7000 back too.
  2. @usaski1 those jump pics don't look so bad. Remember, I've seen you tilt it to the front once a little too much. That one was tough! I'm always glad when I see you keep the nose pointed up.
  3. @shaneh not scotchbrite when I've seen him do it. Super fine sand paper and wet sand it. Not sure what grit, but really fine stuff.
  4. @ob @fizer went 171 on an easy 3/4 cut at nationals. Bet he may have a 200 in him when he gets going. He hasn't been back jumping very long. Get out there and help him dial in that double cut once you guys get finished with ur chat. I'm trying to look at the bright side of things now that I'm getting old. We made way too much food during the BD finals and the delay gave us the opportunity to feed the crowd a bit. I hate taking leftovers home. Ready for this conversation to be over. Lots of good guys in the middle of a crappy deal. Move on please. Congrats to Andy. Next year for the finals we will be cooking again at the RV. Come get some. I'll have Filet waiting for @skidawg if he gets the win.
  5. @usaski1 Was really proud for you to be there with us man.
  6. Can't say enough about how great the event was and thank the Proskitour for all their efforts. Thanks for putting this on and running a first class tournament. We really enjoyed going and won't miss one in the future.
  7. Goode fin numbers that are longer and shallower? Sounds like the numbers from the 9100 to the 9900. Was always really long and really shallow compared to other. 2.449
  8. Great weekend with great people at Cypress. Thanks for everything. It's one of the best sites in our region and is always a pleasure to spend time there.
  9. @Pat M Sam's father is a friend of mine too and we are incredibly proud of both our girls. I doubt scores of 1 & 2 are the best we will see from either of them. He was one of he first ones to reach out and congratulate Bailey on being only the 2nd Jr girl to ever run 38off at 34 mph. Sam started a pretty exclusive club by being the first to ever run 38off. She is an awesome skier and a even more impressive young lady. At 15 Bailey can now claim to be the youngest to date. It's hard not to be supportive of these girls. Regina has shown them that anything is possible and they are running forward with it wide open.
  10. Guy with a ski school for slalom? Drew Ross, period! Or find a way to get with Trent Finlayson and spend time in South Texas. Best two slalom coaches there are. Neither want to over coach you or over talk. They look at the big picture and how to develop your slalom, not just try and grab two buoys while your there to make you feel good. Slalom improvement takes time and patience so a coach needs to teach that way. There is no new best trick.
  11. Detrick finally getting some press for the ladies to see and they throw up a pic with him in a wetsuit. So much for all that tanning time he's been spending. Boats are great to ski behind.
  12. Here the link to the cap @eleeski mentioned that Reflex sells. Sure helps you keep from cutting your leg for trick or slalom. The Shin guard seems common too on hand passes. http://reflexworld.com/product/reflex-release-protector/
  13. My daughter started driving me at 14 I think. I'm not that easy to drive for. She is pretty darn good now. The shocking one was she started driving Jimmy S. in jump at 13. I come home, he is double cutting behind her and hitting the ramp. We didn't even know she was driving yet. Not sure your supposed to get a former world record holder as your first jumper, but take what you get I guess. He thinks she is by far one of the top jump drivers in our area. Pretty funny, although that may hurt a few feelings.
  14. Interesting debate, but the fact is that all Pro events are based on the Elite list. They are scores that represent how individuals performed in tough money events, not the perfect conditions of record slaloms. (which we all love by the way) Most pros I know could care less about the normal ranking list. It doesn't effect them for the most part, but the elite list does. Neither is perfect I agree. If your a Jr. it's different. Example, the Jr Master's invitations are based off the normal ranking list and the Open invitations are based on the Elite list.
  15. I have the same problem. I use Zinio and it seems to be getting later and later.
  16. @MS‌ I know. Was just kidding a bit.
  17. @horton didn't say we weren't alike. @jordan I will get some more pics when I get back from SA. Here's what happens when a girl gets her own boat. Every freeloader in town shows up wanting a ski ride. Claims he won a Big Dawg once. http://i695.photobucket.com/albums/vv313/marcaustin11/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG-20140529-WA0001.jpg
  18. @horton Tricked about 3 weeks ago. Didn't say your wrong. Just exaggerating for effect.
  19. @shaneH It's super clean man. Like the older graphics pattern. The CC metallic has really improved. There was no sun yesterday so the only pics I have on my phone don't show it, but it really pops when it comes out. Skied it once and fifteen minutes after ran to catch a red eye to London then Africa. As usual, I'm pissed to not be home using it, but I have to ask permission to use this one anyway since it's Bailey's boat to use for the summer. I was a little baffled how my Malibu got put on the borrowed boat lift and her boat took over my spot.
  20. @horton Are you using the numbers I sent you?
  21. @horton Always have to love a shameless plug. God knows I get them in too. That one almost as bad as your write up about the trick wake being good on that boat. We just un-wrapped Bailey's new 200 practice boat yesterday. Thank you www.Skiworld.co.za and uncle Don for the support. Between my Malibu, her boat and @TFIN new bad ass Prostar it's fun to pick a brand each day. I only skied 1 set (first one in a month) and 6L felt awesome. Just ran 32's and a 35. Can promise you this. There is no wake at 28off. http://i695.photobucket.com/albums/vv313/marcaustin11/2014Nautique.jpg
  22. I saw the 2009 crash. was a good one. Agree, it was at least 2 years until you jumped again.
  23. No idea what I'm doing but I'm still better at it that @horton by a long shot. @garywilkinson that list from Schnitz is actually cheap when you calculate all the gas and time you spend trying to learn this stuff. Believe me, it would come in handy for ya.
  24. @tfin ran 4@41 off at the end of last year on a bone stock ski with speed skin. Think it must work pretty well. @shaneh likes it so much all his new girlfriends get thongs made from it as a gift. I'm sure this will be part of an upcoming story from him.
