  3. Any Baller's going to be at the tournament in Conroe for the Memorial weekend?
  4. Horton when you leave the Lakes of Darwin are you going to be catching a flight in Dallas. If you do and have an extra afternoon you are more than welcome to come ski with a Texas Baller
  5. 67 seems big, He will be skiing at 36 mph in the next year or two and if he continues to advance a 66" would be the perfect size for 170 lbs.
  6. If it is anything like the warranty I would not count on getting $$ back Has anyone read the warranty? holy smokes it was about 6 pages long and by the time I got to the end of it I realized really there is no warranty unless it is broken when you pull it out of the box.
  7. Marc I have a friend that could potentially be interested, what is a good price?
  8. Ok, I think I am close to getting this thing dialed in and really starting to like it. I have the fin set at 6.915 (tips), 2.512, .765 (flat) and the wing is set at 6.5 degrees..skiing 36 mph I was having an issue getting angle out of 2,4 (offside) so I added a little length (from 6.908 to 6.915) and now I am turning 2,4 as good if not better than 1,3,5. Last night ran 3@38 and 5@38 off the dock. I was running the wing at about 5 degrees but was getting too much down course speed at 2 ball @ 38. Moved the wing to 6.5 degrees and now I am able to turn 2 with a relatively tight line Is anyone else riding this ski and what fin settings are you having success with?

  10. Don't get discouraged, this sport can be extremely humbling at times. You will have your best set of your life and 2 hours later you may have the worst set of your life. I am guilty of being too serious about skiing and once someone reminds me that I am suppose to be having fun things start to come together.
  11. I am anxious to see some scores with more skiers trying this VW
  12. I am in, I agree with Horton on the kid thing, if you allow one you have to allow them all.
  13. Buying a new prop for an 04 Nautique 196, Anyone have a used one they are looking to sell? What is the best prop to use (pitch and cup)?
  14. Most ski ropes are made from rope that is pre-stretched. Honestly it will only feel like a bungee for a couple sets. Drag it behind the boat for a little bit if you feel the need to stretch it out.
  15. Just ski on it, If the rope has so must 'bungee' in it it hurts your skiing you may want to think about getting a better rope.
  16. Razor, are you wearing a powervest? 20 passes in a set is pretty incredible. That must take close to an hour for the set. I see why you would feel bad for the driver. Pulling that stuff in TX on a hot summer day may get you run over by the driver. Based on our calculation for gas that would be nearly 4.5 gallons of gas burned. Wow
  17. I spent this weekend working on slowing down my reach into the 2,4 turns (I am LFF). I was amazed at the difference it made. I was told that I was reaching and snatching the handle back to my hip too quick and I needed to slow it down. I could feel the effects of this, an erratic unpredictable turn. The quick reach was causing me to lose balance and it was putting me on the nose or tail depending on which way my upper body shifted. Once I started focusing on letting the handle out slowly,my offside turn was smoother, more balanced, and I was able to get into 3,5 much earlier.
  18. I think it is one of those chicken and egg arguments, which came first? One could argue that raising your hips to the handle causes the nice stacked position and one could argue getting into a stacked position will raise your hips to the handle...wither way GET YOUR HIPS UP
  19. 'So isn't the orientation of your body relative to the water surface a necessary first step to getting the handle low in relation to your body? ' No, because you can get your body position relatively low to the water without having your hips high to the handle. However if your hips are high to the handle your body position will be ideal in relation to the water surface...make sense?
