  1. I guess the drinking age was probaly 18 for most of you old fogeys
  2. teammalibu, I know the receeding hair line is mis-leading, but It really came in handy when I was 18-20 for beer runs.
  3. I made the change last fall and have not looked back. It took a few sets to stop thinking about it but I feel it has helped my offside turn and I can keep my shoulders more open to the boat going to 1,3,5. With my right palm down I had a tendency to overload going into 1,3,5 and it brought me into the the buoy with excess speed.
  4. 29 turning 30 next January....ouch
  5. @JWROBLEW I am currently flip flopping back and forth between the RCX and the X7 right now. I am still working out the kinks on the X7 but I am fairly confident I will stay with the ski through the summer. I am running the fin shorter than recomended settings and with less angle on my wing (36 mph). If you do go with the X7 let me know I will give you the settings I have found success with. I was a BIG fan of the RCX and so far I see the X7 being another great ski from D3.
  6. Skied my first round last night 1 1/2 @ 11.25 58 K PP Classic ... 1 Ball time 1.67 103.5 buoys
  7. How long has Chet, Chad, and Dave been skiing with this set up? I have never heard of this miracle wing until this thread
  8. something I try to think about is keeping my hips countered on my edge change then all you have to do is reach forward at the buoy. An example, LFF going into 1,3,5 your hips should already be facing the shore line behind the boat and shoulders open to the boat, the key is when you start to unload and edge change your hips need to continue to be facing outbound and then start rotating your uppderbody and like Horton said start to rotate your left shoulder forward. That is the easy side. Where I struggle (Being LFF) is going into my 2,4 turns. Your hips are more open to the boat naturally due to your stance and it is more difficult to keep the hips pointing outbound on your edge change. What helps me on that side is focusing on keepimg my left shoulder back and keeping the handle in tight on my hipso I can keep the ski moving outbound. As soon as your left shoulder starts to move forward your direction shifts down course
  9. Bud Man, so your scores would be primarily based on the honor system? That should be interesting witht his bunch. I know Scoke will not be participating, unless you do not count peoples scores who ski behind PP.
  10. I like the idea of having inserts, The warranty thing sounds to good to be true and I am still trying to get my head around the double rocker idea.
  11. True 58K is easier on the body but 55K is easier on the old guys ego's
  12. My back is hurting just thinking about skiing on a smaller ski with the binders moved forward
  13. I failed chemistry....looking at that shirt just gave me a headache
  14. After making adjustments I found the biggest difference between the two is the carry out to the buoy line and the control on my turns. With the RCX I had to be real percise on my edge change to get it to carry out to the buoy line where as the X7 holds the cross course direction better and carries out with more ease. Also the turns are not quite as wild on the X7, the RCX was faster side to side but when it came time to turn it got a little wild (probaly due to the skier more than the ski) I can still turn the X7 hard and fast (especially on my on side) but it feels more consistent on the back side of my off side turn. I am very happy so far with the X7 ps, if you do go with the X7 I would recomend running the fin a little shorter and less wing angle than the recommended settings
  15. slalom skiing ... one ski getting pulled by 330 horse power boat...holding onto a rope and handle...wearing shorts and a life jacket...goal to round 6 buoys and keep a tight line...shorten the rope as you complete passes..sit for a minute and then say hit it Snow skiing....two skis getting pulled by gravity...holding two poles in your hands...wearing snow jacket hat and everything else to keep you warm..goal to make it down the hill without falling...maybe try a more difficult slope as you make it down the hill...ride up a ten miknute lift The only similarity is that they both have skiing in the name and you have to bend your knees...most athletic sports required bent knees
  16. I like the X7 and am coming off an RCX. At first I felt the X7 was really slow but after making some adjustments I have really started to like the ski. The biggest adjustment was the wing angle
  17. Bud Man I do wear a spray leg on my right leg to protect my suit, in fact it is an eagle spray leg.
  18. I purchased an Eagle Drysuit in the fall of last year. The suit has a small leak in it already around the knee of my right leg. It is not a big leak but when I take it off my suit my thermals from my knee down are soaked. Marc do you know if Eagle has a warranty on their dry suits?
  19. Could water temp have an effect on this? I would imagine the colder water is going to cause your heart rate to go up a little bit.
  20. I agree with Scoke here, air 70's and water 60's and no skiing?? Must be the beer and pepperoni effecting everyones judgement at old wards.
  21. I am not a tennis expert but it is usually needs restrung not neccesarily a whole new raquet as far as guns; as long as your not rapid firing and you let the barrel cool between rounds the gun will be accurate for a lifetime, It is hard to admit that it could be the operator and not the equipmentÂ
  22. finishing up lunch and heading to the lake, 64 water and 75 air, waiting for the 25 winds to slow down to 15.
