  1. A fella' approached Ben O. Williams at a bar and stated he sure would like to hunt with him sometime. Ben wearily replied, "Yes. Everyone would." "I say this with peace and love. Peace and love. I will not be signing any more autographs!" - Ringo Starr Some folks have more demands put upon them than others. I imagine it could get exhausting. My dad was a workaholic who just wanted to be with his wife and kids when he wasn't busy. I can't begrudge anyone who wishes to relax and enjoy their family, but I sure appreciate those Ballers that have the temperament and personalities to host random wayward skiers!
  2. @eddie_roberts_jr‌ what type of skier was Jeff Bridges? I'd love to hear The Dude abided the H2O skiing!
  3. @Deanoski All but one of my drivers are great. All the bad habits listed above belong to one driver! He's a good guy. He just seems to suffer from extreme Attention Defecit Disorder. Mookie says hello!
  4. I should clarify. I don't mind waving or whistling when I have dropped, but when I'm actually in the course skiing, I don't need anything extra to think about.
  5. i get distracted when my driver whistles or waves to someone on shore, and I like consistency when I'm being pulled up and dropped. The only consistent thing one of my drivers does is radically correct the boat path right before the 55's!
  6. The wake should be very similar to the '91-'94 Prostar (nearly perfect) with less chine spray. It also comes standard with EFI - which is nice!
  7. Please refrain from relieving yourself in the middle of my set. I'm happy to postpone my set until your bladder is empty. Also, I'd prefer to be picked up immediately at the end of my set - rather than after you relieve yourself! I could go on and on, but I think you get the idea.
  8. The first rule of film editing is get rid of shots that don't work - no matter how much time and money you spent to get them. The nice thing about water skiing is it's easy to record. Just put a camera in the boat and you're Laszlo Kovacs! I get bummed when they jump to different camera angles during a pass - especially a critical pass.
  9. As a skier who still suffers from bad stack, I progress faster when I ski volume sets, but doing so is difficult when your ski buddy is an outlier who has progressed to 35' off @ 36 in just three seasons - skiing lots of intensity sets.
  10. I agree with @6ball‌s - I typically ski dislexic when I'm being coached. It takes me a while to digest everything and incorporate it properly.
  11. It seems to me that ULM has built the program and support that we would like given to all schools (and pros!). I don't see how artificially limiting their success will help other schools fund their own. If anything I would think it could help the argument for other universities to increase the amount they spend on water skiing.
  12. I used to have custom cork foot beds in my RS-1's, but they vanished after a few OTF's. They work great in my Scarpa T-Races and my Dalebello's though.
  13. The sand at our lake was pushed in unwanted areas. We have pea gravel on the beach at our cabin and it hasn't moved in 40 years. I like it way more than traditional sand.
  14. It'd be cool to see a video of his skiing.
  15. What binders is everyone on with the T1/T2? And which binders (Fogman/Stealth) might negate the design attributes of the ski?
  16. I'd imagine it costs AZ property owners a ton of money to keep water in those lakes.
  17. I thought I heard somewhere that most of the HO team were skiing on the S2 - skiing a 34mph ski at 36mph. But I would assume they weren't stock S2's.
  18. I just heard Howard Stern do 12 today. What a coincidence!
  19. Hey! I didn't talk politics. I talked history. I took no side and disparaged no one. I just listed numbers that are all a part of the public record. " I'm sure there is some quality discussion on how to get these buoys removed or policy changed without having to go into politics." Water rights are nothing if not political and if you want to effectively challenge a restriction, it helps to understand the historical perspective. I'm an advocate for public courses and private ponds. That is the only political position I wish to take on this forum. but I'll try to refrain from those debates as well! I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I'm the worst at politics. I won't shut up until everyone is offended - including myself.
  20. And that sucks @ozski & @rawly !
  21. @MrJones the Democrats controlled the presidency for all but 16 years during the period from 1933 to 1980. In that time they controlled the congress for all but four of the years, and they raised taxes on anything after $3.5 million (in today's dolllars) to 95%, created social security, Medicare, the G.I. Bill, the EPA, the FDA, the FAA, and scores of other government agencies. Since 1980 the taxes on the most wealthy have been a maximum 28% except for a 7 year spell under Clinton in which they were 39.6% (still a far cry from the pre-Reagan 75%). At the same time there has been unprecedented deregulation and a general defunding and weakening of all regulatory bodies such as the EPA. I am avoiding any political commentary. Just supplying a little historical context. If'n my numbers don't add up, it would follow that the newly incurred regulations would be largely due to Republican policies as they have controlled the congress and the American purse strings since 1994.
  22. The irony is government was far bigger in per capita terms during the 50's & 60's.
  23. @SkiJay I'd be interested to know how the Fogman/Stealths affect the new Mapple T1 & T2 also. I'll find out first hand how they affect my 6.0 in the spring.
