  1. Watched a friend run his 38 pass on the blue ARC at a tournament yesterday. He was loving the off-side turn.
  2. My Eagle is six years old and holding up fairly well. It smells worse than a wet dog however.
  3. I think it's great. We get lots of wind here in Mantucky and this would certainly reduce the stress around the boat launch or when being pushed into the beach when the skier is down. Maneuvering options are a good thing.
  4. I've had a partial tear for two years now. It feels fairly strong but has been aggravated by skiing. I've been terrible about doing the exercises that my PT has given me, so I've committed to doing those every day. We'll see if that makes a difference. But he's given me the green light to waterski. After two years of constant pain, I am seriously considering surgery at the end of this season. Good luck @ESPNSkier !
  5. I sure hope this awesome boat sells or is sold! Why exactly does the AWSA care what boat is used in a class c tournament? Everyone would rather ski behind the newest and greatest boat out there, but they would also rather ski at a tournament behind any boat rather than have no tournament at all. I've been on several forums that posited the idea of holding a tournament behind "vintage" hand driven boats. It seems like that would be a fun, lighthearted tournament to be involved in. I don't see how that could be a bad thing. There's always going to be a market for the best boats in our particular demographic.
  6. Okeheelee under the lights takes on greater significance now.
  7. Just returned after hernia surgery. FYI - six weeks seems to be ample time to return to skiing after surgery! Nothing critical fell apart anyway.
  8. I'm not sure. I was recovering from hernia surgery when the last half of the conversion was completed. @jedgell @Omland Either of you guys know if we had those parts remaining? Thanks for the help @skier2788
  9. My ski partners and I purchased a 2004 196 limited with 670 hours and promptly converted the bugger to Zero Off, but upon completion our temperature gauge and our oil pressure gauge stopped working. The Zero Off works great, and we've checked all the grounds, but still those two gauges aren't working. Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be? Could we have a faulty gateway? Has anyone come across this when they did the conversion? We figured we'd post here before we started buying new gauges & stuff. Thanks in advance!
  10. 2004 freshly converted to Zero Off!
  11. I'm really glad to hear the Mapple brand continues.
  12. Tubing and wakeboarding will always appear to be more popular because you can do either of them in marginal conditions. When I was a kid we bought a Skurfer so we could enjoy the washing machine conditions, but we always preferred skiing.
  13. I always look for skiers who have similar advantages & disadvantages as myself - LFF & 5'5", so Wim is the person I periodically search for hoping to find a new video. @MS 2010 is more current than the one video available on YouTube. If you ever got the chance and enthusiasm to post those vids, it would be awesome!
  14. @scotchipman That is the most depressing waterski photo of all time!
  15. Nothing is as close as @scotchipman 's setup at Utah Lake. The reeds are right up against the course. They are reeds and not land, but it's hard to convince your brain of the difference. Incredible wind protection though!
  16. I'm finding it difficult to justify bathroom remodels over this ski.
  17. That looks like a deluxe version of the FM system which I've used and thought was somewhat beneficial. I'm interested in hearing how it works.
  18. I love seeing someone hot rod anything. Can't get enough of it!
  19. At a buck thirty I'm not a prime candidate for putting a handle in the boat, but one of the club members poo-poo'd the shocktube and its necessity and proceeded to put the handle in the boat within a week. I bet Powervests are more of variable than speed control.
  20. I lost my 15 1/2 year old hound in February. After a month of missing our walks, I cruised over to the pound and picked up another hound. Puppies have a way of draining all of the energy you would otherwise use for grieving. I highly recommend them! My condolences to you and the rest of your crew.
  21. Hey @Steveo I've torn both rotator cuffs. The first one was the result of a violent OTF out of 4 ball while my left clincher stayed connected to the handle. Remarkably it was skiable a month later. My right rotator cuff slowly wore out and has been a 1 1/2 year rehab process as it slowly gets better. However I haven't missed a day of snow or waterskiing due to this particular tear. Neither have required surgery. Good luck with your recovery and find yourself a superior physical therapist! They are not all created equal and I owe mine at least two seasons that I would have otherwise missed.
  22. @Ed_Johnson water rights are pretty touchy everywhere. Montana has probably seen the last of the ski lakes to be dug. I was hoping there would be less restrictions in Hawaii if you were to use ocean water as opposed to the fresh stuff.
