  1. its the same basic hull shape from what I understand. Look for/ask about the roller fix. It should work on both boats.
  2. The trailer on my 2021 SN came with a keel roller for the bow that lifts it up a bit solving the issue with the bunks rubbing the gel off the chines. I slide the boat on the trailer leaving about 2 feet to go, hook the strap, and crank the last two feet. I am happy with the new trailer.
  3. My new favorite BOS thread. So much gold.
  4. "Squeeze a $20 bill and give me change" used to be a go-to phrase.
  5. The Jacinta record supports Garn's position. Nothing was going to stop Jacinta. She went back after the tourney was basically over and after she had won and asked for another round and set the record, but she paid a steep sponsor price. But maybe others would think twice or sand bag, I don't know. But not Jacinta.
  6. If you are at the small-for-the-ski end (but inside) of the tolerance on one of the wider skis you should be good going slower speeds. Most manufacturers indicate a speed range or a max speed along with weight range on the size charts.
  7. At 5"11, 185, you could ride a traditional 67" ski, but I think with the other variables you mentioned you'd be better off on a traditional 68" ski. A traditional 66" ski is too small. If the ski is designed a little wider than traditional, then a 67" ski would probably work. Look at the manufacturer weight and speed recommendation for the skis and make sure you are erring on the side of getting a bigger ski if it's close. IMO.
  8. At Wiley's they use a toe cover over a sock with your foot in when they heat mold them to your foot. It works great and gives your toes some wiggle room while the rest of your foot is seated perfectly. The liner is made to form to your foot so don't skip that step. It may seem too snug without the heat molding.
  9. I have seen a couple ski school/club boats with twice as many hours on a 6.0L without a rebuild. But the reality is it's a crap shoot after a certain point.
  10. I would personally put the kid on a 63.5" Vapor until he hits 110 ish pounds and then move him up to a 65". You can find sweet deals on those skis if you are patient and scour the internet. I have two I bought new (but several model years old) for $300. My boy picked up a pass the day he switched from a 65" TRA to a 63.5" Vapor at about that weight. If I am reading the speeds right he is going fast enough to benefit from the Vapor. (I'd also cut him to -22 and throw away the red loop, but not everyone agrees with me on this.).
  11. Are there engine options on the new 200s? I thought it was 6.0L only, but maybe I'm mistaken.
  12. No, I don't, at least not if it's fair and consistent. I don't believe the driver should try and should help the skier in any way shape for form. It's the skier's job to beat the boat with the boat traveling in a fair and consistent path as close to straight as is possible. But, right now, I believe "good driving"--as most pro level skiers think of it--as being designed to help the skier within tolerances to make the pull softer and produce better scores.
  13. Surepath seems like a bigger impediment than ZO, IMO. And just wait till GPS and an algorithm steer the boat with no mercy, no love.
  14. Brooks Wilson https://radarskis.com/team/brooks-wilson
  15. We got a freshman in high school from his 1 buoy pb to getting around 4, shadow 5, around 6 and out the gates. So close, and so exciting. The whole boat was pumped. We all know next time out he's gonna run it and we all can't wait. For all the shit we go through to make this sport work, when it works, its totally worth it.
  16. Oh the horror! A place where pros and beginners alike can have fun on the same dock sounds like a real downer.
  17. The Icaro came from Perf Ski and it fits perfect. The boy really likes it.
  18. With the new front boot and RTP on a single carbon plate (and no mechanical release), I had a typical (but not all that violent) crash this weekend and came right out of the boot in similar fashion to my old vapor boots. Zero complaints so far.
  19. I resemble that remark. And it's one of my big regrets. It's tough getting out of college, starting a professional career, being broke and keeping up skiing to a level you are used to. And golf. God damn golf.
  20. I had one Boa fail (cord broke) and Radar gave me a whole new boot. I do not not think that the warranty covered the "whole new boot" (just a new Boa) but that is what happened.
  21. I just ordered one for the boy from you guys (and it's shipped!). If he likes it I'll probably try it order another one for me. We are sharing an older one right now and the liner is wearing out so it's time for some new gear.
  22. Do helmets with visors work for jumping? Perfski has an "Icaro Skyrunner Black Helmet."
  23. Sorry to thread jack, but what is the best source for full-face jump helmets now?
  24. Don't tell my high-school boy, his three cousins, and two friends we are taking course skiing today that slalom is dead. They would be pretty disappointed. I'd also have to stop touring colleges with ski teams with him. That would suck. You all can pine for the old days or you can fight for the future. But make no mistake sharing skiing with future generations is a battle and takes a large, focused and thankless commitment in both time and money. But, in my opinion, keeping skiing going is a battle worth fighting.
  25. I'd like to see FW compete. That said, I have not seen more than maybe one or two posters on this site who claim personal or even some knowledge of what, exactly, transpired justifying (or not justifying) the ban. And those posters were pretty tight lipped. I certainly don't know what the actual conduct was. So I am not going to answer the poll as it's phrased.
