  1. Also, give it time after you boot it up to acquire as may satellites as possible and verify you have a d( for differential) after the number of satellites before you map.
  2. Only 5 satellites is an issue. The new single puck should be seeing a lot more that that. Are you sure you aren't seeing "gps error" in red at the top left of your screen?
  3. I noticed on the Master's webcast that they had the antenna mounted offset to the driver's side. Since upgrading to the larger antenna this year, directly in front of the pylon made it very easy for the boat crew to bump it and move it off center. I tried the offset to the drivers side over the weekend and found that it is a much better location. My Skidoc mount is 13 cm from the center of the pylon to the center of the antenna, so I simply put in a +13 cm offset. It is out of the way in this location any slight bump and movement would have a minor effect on center line. I also like that the software reminds the user that the offset is not zero every time it is put into tracking mode. One other note, with the larger antenna and switching to powering with a power bank instead of boat power, I have not missed any portion of any passes at all this year. I highly recommend the larger antenna and power bank.
  4. Go online to redpocket.com and order. I use AT&T network (on Red Pocket), but that is the only carrier that has service at my lake.
  5. If there are no error codes present, I would unplug all of the connectors and ensure all of the pins are fully inserted. If all is good there I would request a new head unit under warranty.
  6. Yes, but I have found a sim card in the rover to be much more reliable and convenient. Pretty cheap through Red Pocket mobile.
  7. I would start off by shooting some grease in the rudder. If you take the floor port out behind the motor box and reach over toward the port stringer, you should find a grease fitting at the end of a small hose. That fitting goes back to the rudder port.
  8. It is REALLY nice to come here and not have to see all of the polarized craziness that is going on!
  9. @Minelickskier Lots of years of boating and skiing to draw from:)
  10. One other notable experience. When running fast, hit a very large Asian carp with the WINDSHIELD!!! it bounced off the inside of the bimini top and then motor box then slapped my passenger sitting in the back in the face. There was blood everywhere, fortunately it was from the fish, not my passenger. Nasty stinky huge fish was DOA! Carpet and interior were a mess, it was hard getting a grip on the dead fish to get it out of the boat because it was so slimy and bloody. One more reason I like Seadek much better than carpet.
  11. If you go electric and don't have a brake controller in your truck, HERE is a great solution. It simply plugs in to the light plug and is completely self-contained, no wiring at all. You can use a Bluetooth connection to your phone to control settings and if you want the ability to manually apply brakes. I use it with my utility trailer.
  12. When I was 16 I hit a large submerged log with the family's 19' Owens day cruiser (Wooden hull). I stopped to check the bilge and saw water coming in really fast. I yelled at my skier to get in the boat fast and took off back towards the boat ramp where I planned to get the trailer in to pull the boat. As I got close to the ramp the boat started coming off plane (at full throttle), so the back up plan was to beach the boat on the rocks, as I was almost there another boater was backing in his trailer. I did a quick mental compare to my trailer and decided it was close enough, cut off the other boater, and hit his trailer at full throttle (now down to about 5 mph). Luckily I hit it perfect! The driver jumps out of his car with an astonished look on his face and before he could say a word I yelled "pull it out it is sinking"! The driver complied and tried like hell to pull it out, but it was very heavy with all the water. over the next 15 minutes and a few moves up the ramp as the water drained out the 4" hole in the bottom of the boat we got the bottom of the boat level with the water and it all drained out. I backed my trailer in, stuffed my shirt in the hole and floated it off his trailer and on to mine.
  13. One other really easy thing to check...make sure the kill switch lanyard hasn't been pulled off:)
  14. I would start out by putting a reliable volt meter on the battery when you turn on the turn on the master disconnect switch. If you don't get at least 12.3 or 12.4 volts, charge the battery and try again. If same result, buy a new battery. If you get good voltage at the battery, when turned on, check the voltage at the bottom of the power port in the glove box. You can open the observers seat back and get to the bottom of it easily. (used to be called cigarette lighter, but fortunately they are now power ports). That is the easiest place to check voltage. If low voltage there, start working through the system checking for loose connections or grounds.
  15. I agree with the statement above about the great job TWBC did. I was really impressed by the cable camera. I had no idea it was possible to stretch an overhead cable the length of the lake that would be strong enough to support a camera in the middle of the cable. I would really be interested in a webcast on that technology!
  16. Yes, it resembles the head unit, just no display and mounted under the dash, sorry, I don't have any pictures handy, which boat brand are you referencing? Since it does contain the accelerometer, you should find it orientated the same was an in-dash unit would be oriented. (If angled, the accelerometer would not work correctly unless set up special like the "angle-mount" Nautique one with no Linc screen.
  17. I think cumulative is fine. If a driver is trying for centerline, not trying to help the skier, cum should stay very low. Remember, plus and minus offset in cum. I also think the drivers did a great job keeping numbers in today if there were only three or four out. 13 data points for each pass, if all skiers averaged 4 passes per pull, there were over 5,000 data points measured.
  18. Wow, I wonder how the boat went through its warranty period when new without this being fixed, since it never worked when new. I know there were a few instances in the 2008 time frame where the pins were reversed in the diagnostic connector, but those would never have been noticed unless a Diacom or ZO upgrade cable use was attempted.
  19. @lpskier Now that is funny!! (I don't care who ya are.....get er done)
  20. Try disconnecting all of the connectors and take a high resolution photo of the pins. Blow up the picture and make sure all of the pins are exactly the same height. I have seen quite a few issues during the 2010 to 2013 model years where the pins were not fully inserted in the connectors. They initially work fine, but over the years they start having an intermittent connection. In each instance identifying the pin that was not fully inserted and getting it fully inserted until the retainer clicks in has resolved the problem.
  21. Need multiple choices for brand ski (three event skiers may use three different brands, Goodman doesn't make slalom skis)
  22. I have already taken the training. I believe this is an overreach however, and that this will severely impact membership, especially the ability to attract new members.
  23. @Rpc29 The jump switch does not have power, it is simply a a make/break continuity switch.
  24. Did you have a green indicator on the correction signal from the server? How many seconds old was the correction signal? Over sixty is not going to work. I had a lot of issues using a wifi hotspot from my phone that went away when I put in a sim card. If that is causing the issue, you should be seeing a "not ready" (not green) indicator in the upper left. Are your errors all 20cm exactly on the end of course screen? In my experience that indicates a loss of signal and have asked for another value to indicate that at each buoy, as I feel a lot of judges will think you were exactly 20cm off when in fact there was no signal. If you go to the breadcrumb screen, you will see no breadcrumbs when the signal was bad. You can go to those passes in history at any time and check to see if the breadcrumbs were there. No breadcrumb indicates no reading at that point.
  25. My opinion is I hate steep ramps. They beat the hell out of boats and bunks. Nice gradual slope that lets the boat float on and off the trailer is my preference. I don't mind getting my rear pickup tires in the water.
