  1. nice skiing @Horton hope that is motivation to bring it back to hilltop next year. I promise I will be there.
  2. 52 and set a new PB 4 @ -35 yesterday.
  3. The most fun I have had at a tournament in a long time. Great Skiing and great people. It was very cool to share the starting dock with the pros. Terry Winter had the run of the tournament, a very strong tailwind 39 that did not look possible, Terry Winter is an incredible skier. To make it more interesting he was on a brand new ski that he had two rides on prior to the tournament. It was also the best tournament of my life I ran my 32 off pass all 4 rounds, I have only run that pass in multiple rounds once and that was the weekend before the pro am. Becky (did not get her last name) is an incredible driver. Men 4 was lucky enough to be grouped with the pros and we skied behind Becky all 4 rounds. To top it off Bud Clarkson and I went to dinner with TW and Greg Tate and shared a few adult beverages. Lots of hilarious stories that can't be posted online. Thanks guys it was a blast.
  4. @Horton I saw the 2017 V Type or whatever it will be called at the Hill Top Pro AM. To my eye it is a entirely new ski, that is radically different from the 2016. According to Will Asher it will be released at the Nationals.
  5. @lundberg sounds like Ski Park is full, look at the schedule on usawaterski.org for a tournament with a Grass Roots division. Grass Roots is a lot less intimidating. PM me if you want to come up and take a rip at the course.
  6. @lundberg come to ski park on Thursday and enter the grass roots division.
  7. @Horton sorry I am out of town that weekend. If something changes I will send you an entry.
  8. Inserts are meant to go into specific places in the ski core that have been reinforced with another material. You found out the hard way that you can't put inserts where ever you want. Personally I would get a new ski, you may have compromised the integrity of that ski.
  9. I was at the K2 facility in Seattle last summer, the reason given for abandoning water skis was they didn't float.
  10. Check out the wet set ski club, they do lake rentals in the barstow area. My brother lives in vegas and belongs to that club.
  11. What Than said about the Camaro, I am warmer with my heater top in April then I am wearing my Oneil full wetsuit.
  12. Crossfit, Hit it hard in the off season and back off but don't stop during your ski season.
  13. I started my daughter on a Radar P6 65", as she progressed to faster speeds we moved her to a Radar Senate 63". The P6 is a great beginner ski that is reasonably priced.
  14. Crescent Bar is a channel off the Columbia River near the town of Quincy Washington. In the 70's and 80's prior to the building of Koppert Lake and Borderline, Crescent bar was the location of most of the tournaments in the state of Washington. This site was shared by clubs that would host each tournament. The Goodman family built a Jump and trucked it over from Bellingham and stored it in the weeds near the boat Ramp. Each weekend the entire site had to be setup. Slalom Course, Jump, Jump meters etc... And of course torn down on Sunday, made for some long weekends. The weather was always hot and little to no wind. Lots of good memories of some great skiing and legendary parties on Saturday nights.
  15. http://www.regenexx.com/ Check out this site, it is Stem Cell treatment for Knee Injuries. I have been told by my doctors that a knee replacement is imminent and I would just have to deal with the pain for another 5 - 10 years. I plan to get this treatment over the winter.
  16. I have been on Radars (Strada / Vapor) for 5 seasons with no problems until this year. I had the front binding too tight and went out the front result was a broken ankle. Having the top laces too tight works great until it doesn't, lesson learned. I will be back on the water this weekend and I have no worries about my bindings being unsafe.
  17. Recently an old friend of the family passed away and as I thought back, all of my memories of him involved water skiing. After attending the service I had my ski partner meet me at the lake for a ski ride in Bob's honor. RIP Bob Madson.
  18. Has anyone tried Fiber Fix? https://www.fiberfix.com/
  19. @Horton that was a great piece. I worked for Kidder in the early 80's and this brought back a lot of good memories of a man I truly admire. What he said about it being a team effort to produce the skis is very true. He has a great respect for everyone that worked at the factory, from the teenager cleaning skis fresh out of the press (me) to the lady working the front desk, we all felt like a valued member of the team. To this day I don't think I have worked for a better manager. I still have my have my first custom made Redline, will never give that up, and I ski a D3 today.
  20. Am I the only one that would rather have Tad on the Mic. instead of Dano?
  21. Happy Birthday Dr. Horton. Love watching that story. @Horton your Dad is an incredible man.
  22. @vtjc if you liked the Z7, the helix will be a nice upgrade. With the release of the H2 there should be plenty deals on last years Helix.
  23. I just replaced the battery in my 96 SN with an Exide Group 65 from Home Depot.
