  1. What materials are individuals using for their docks? We need to replace surface material on a couple of docks and a pedestrian bridge. Would like to hear reviews of different composite materials that have been successful. We would like all three surfaces to be similar if possible. One of the docks is large, so pricing will be a factor. Would like to use colors that don't get super hot when barefoot. Products we are looking at: Trex Titan Decking Fibergrate Aqua Decking We have looked at some Trex decks and even after a few years, they are faded (lake is in Northern CA). Also on the bridge, the spacing is 24" on center (can't really modify with out a lot of welding). Thanks for the input, Kevin
  2. My wife is W3, she decided last year that she doesn't like 34mph, so she stays at 32mph and just shortens the line with ZBS. As Jeff said IWWF should adopt ZBS so people have a choice. We need to do things to give people choices to keep them in the sport. If my wife had to continue to ski 34mph, she would probably just quit tournaments. She doesn't care about Regionals/Nationals or world events, she is happy going to local events and having fun.
  3. Mark this day in History, @horton agrees with @eleeski Not likely to ever happen again.
  4. Off Season really brings out the important topics! :o
  5. @tru-jack The prop you want for Slalom only is a 654. I have one I'm willing to sell. PM if interested.
  6. We put them on with a strip of dual lock. That way different drivers can move it depending on preference.
  7. In Fall there are always boats that people are seeing if they can sell before winter instead of storing. This spring, I was helping a local guy try and find a 200, he was looking as far as Florida since he couldn't find one nearby (that wasn't red and there were only 2 in CA). He ended up finding one in Colorado. I have a 2019 SN that will be available after College Nationals.
  8. @HMan66 It may be hard to comprehend how much work and money goes into owning a ski lake. Whether it is an individual or HOA. Also if you are running a ski club, you get a lot of requests or complaints. Also as these owners get older, they are no longer skiing, but still maintaining. They may want to retire somewhere else. In the case of the lakes in Caldwell, Id, it is due to the owners getting older and the exit plan is to sell the lakes at some point. Also lakes don't sell quickly, so you might start advertising years before you actually plan to make a move.
  9. Is there a link to results? Not on waterskiresults.com.
  10. I spoke with George who is working very hard on this when I dropped my boat off on Wednesday. He said they were trying to add bandwidth, but it was limited in that area.
  11. Easy way to check if the pucks are an issue due to the upgrade of the satellites is to look at the date. If it says 1999, then you can either upgrade to single puck or see if you can have your duel pucks re-flashed. Another check is if you are only getting 7 or less satellites.
  12. Man @Rico still hungover from Memorial Day? :) Must have been a hell of a party!
  13. @Dacon62 check out Valensin Ski Ranch. New name for Sunset Ski Ranch. Accommodations available. Believe ski school is being run by Paul Crawford now.
  14. Question, did they ski in Open only to try and qualify for America's cup, not placement. Not sure how that all worked, but I know a couple of B3 that were trying to qualify for America's Cup and skied twice.
  15. The one thing I see wrong with the "will not start before" suggestion is there goes all your help for a tournament. This will allow more people to come, ski and leave. I always show up early for a tournament so I can help. I have always gone by the rule, you help once for every event you ski. Even if it is doing some dock starting. This is an important position and it helps to meet new people at a tournament. I also suggest before you suggest a rule change you run a 3 event tournament. You would not believe the number of changes from participants Friday night before the tournament starts. And this is just for a simple class C tournament. It is even more difficult for a Regionals and Nationals. People don't always communicate changes for something simple like an injury and not skiing.
  16. Just found out that Western Regionals at Laku Landing has a youtube video from around the lakes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fv61Q0XtQWs
  17. @eleeski is happy to hear that Horton likes the all white skis. And will now design all @Horton skis. He actually looked pretty good on his ski behind your boat at LZ.
  18. I don't know the exact hours, but our neighbor has one of Rini's old ski school boats and I think it is around 2000 hours on a 6.2 DI motor. Runs good for them.
  19. @BlueSki That is what it was called all weekend. So I'm sure the name will stick. :) I like the orange color.
  20. It was nice to get to drive @horton new boat in both Jump and Slalom before he even got to see it. It was probably the best tracking M/C I have driven. I talked to Will about the motor and he confirmed it is a Gen IV 6 liter similar to what the other manufactures have as their base motors.
  21. Only way to tell on a straight boat path is to watch the pylon from the end course video. The prop wash shouldn't be straight if you are staying in sync with the skier while the pylon is in the center. We were having a discussion about this with a new driver over the weekend.
  22. @TravisNW check out fluid motion hard shell. I have my trick set up with no release, so no issue with shin hitting heal release. They use a hockey shell, so it mounts flat to plate.
  23. If it is a cantilever lift, not bringing it all the way up puts additional stress on the cables and pulleys. Just wears out the parts faster.
