  1. There was no selection for "Big Spray". That should have been #1.
  2. My opinion on this training for all members, it is excessive. If they need oversight at tournaments, why not just make this part of our official's training? Anyone that is an official gets the training every few years as a requirement and it is not a burden to new members signing up for a tournament. I'm not talking about a full training, you can always do a condensed version in 30 min or less. For most these types of training, I just bring up two screens and take the test (pass) and let the video or time count down for the prescribed time for each module (do other tasks while waiting to move to next module). As others have said most these things are common sense.
  3. @horton are you adding a wakebike event to the BOS cash price tournament?
  4. @BS74 mostly being purchased by drivers who want to be better and get a good ride in practice. Our lake bought one base and so far individuals have purchased 5 rovers. Any other members that want to add it to their boat can just buy a rover. Two of the individuals that bought the system are promo boat owners, so we will have the use for tournaments.
  5. I hear @dirt is on his way down to try the ski with @horton. Got to see one of the skis in person and the carbon looks awesome. Hope to get to try one at some point.
  6. I think people are forgetting the promo person is on site all day long. We are usually one of the first to arrive and last to leave. I'm lucky that the events I go to, I'm usually a chief official too (so there all day anyways). No dealer is going to send someone to sit at a tournament all day and pay them (unless that dealer is a skier). As others have said as a promo boat owner, it is not just the cost of hours. I'm pretty lucky that most tournaments I pull are less than an hour from my home. I think the $25 is a nice start, but is not close to the actual cost of time, depreciation, insurance (you can't have a bare bones policy) and maintenance. Also the hours limits on boats have come in the last few year. As boats are returned to the dealer, they limit both tournament and personal hours. And it is not just one brand, I have seen this from both Nautique and MC.
  7. Sorry to go off track, but @brettmainer you are way over valuing @dirt coaching.
  8. Contact Nautique, I'm would think they have that data.
  9. Anyone know where we can get the boat sights? Mine fell off and need to replace. The link above doesn't have it listed anymore.
  10. @klindy I was just stating that it was already tried to break up a region (as many posts have suggested) and it didn't pass as a lot of the long time skiers wanted that tournament to see friends from other part of the west.
  11. I know a few years ago they looked at splitting up the Western region. The main reason I heard people were not for it due to not being able to see friends from other area's. No matter where we go in the west it is a drive/flight. I towed my boat to this years regionals 9.5 hours each way. Even in just CA it is a minimum of 4.5 hours from Northern CA to Bakersfield as Horton stated. I think as an organization we need to define what is the goal from Regionals and Nationals. Then we can discuss how to best accomplish. Is it a large event so the sponsors get good participation or is it a true national championship where the top 10 (random number) in each group get invited?
  12. Sorry to hear about JB. Hope for a full recovery.
  13. I just got my large record. 1 set tonight, so far feels good. We’ll see how it goes in the tournament this weekend.
  14. At Western Regional's there were two choices of rope, ML 2.0 & Syndicate. The dock starters were told to ask the skier which rope they wanted, but I'm not sure that always happened (especially the first group, which was M4). I don't think the ropes were stretchy, the lakes at regional's were really deep (20+ ft), so it felt soft at the turn.
  15. Sea Deck is a great product. As a Promo person, I no longer do I have to worry about scratches from people stepping on the boat with shoes or sand on their feet. It is much easier to clean. I would rather have that on the boat then not. I still like carpet in a boat for the sound dampening. But Sea Deck is much easier to keep clean. I just get the Sea Deck wet, then spray with Simple Green and brush dirty area's with a soft brush and rinse. The whole boat is dry in an hour.
  16. Here are my numbers on a 67" 6.93 2.46 .81 29 7/8
  17. Now that regionals is over, thinking about ordering a Record Large, is there a long wait time to get the ski made or do you have them in stock? @AdamCord or @adamhcaldwell
  18. We have been using Sure Path at Western Regionals. It is great as a driver to get that immediate feedback on your boat path for Slalom and Jump.
  19. Get a used skate boot and just bolt it to a plate. Then for safety always use a pylon release when learning (piece of rope is pretty cheap).
  20. I have to say thank you to @dirt for the great coaching today. I have never been consistent at 35. He gave me good advice that finally made since. Most tell me to stay on the handle longer, which just makes me pull to long. His advice was to ride the line out to the apex then turn. Now I just need to practice.
  21. 1.06 in 13” would be great
  22. I wish ML would make the Ergo in a larger diameter than 1”.
  23. I tow a lot with my 2015 Ford F-150 supercrew w/3.5 eco boost. It has plenty of power and lots of room inside. Will be towing my boat to regionals in Idaho in a few weeks.
  24. I have not been able to get a hold of them at all this year.
