  1. For anything towed, an observer with holding the rope wrapped on the pylon twice is the safest method, and has been used for ? maybe 50 years..... Or a trick release mechanism. Not meant for Slalom....loads can exceed 900 lbs.
  2. Sometimes i wonder why everyone that skis doesn't live in Florida....You can't drive 3 miles without running into a lake!..........hahah...that doesn't need a well and a pump to keep it full.
  3. All I know is that whoever started SafeSport is raking in the big bucks!
  4. I see a guest commentator spot opening up on TWBC..............
  5. It's not you Lefty....Everyone hated zero off when we got stuck with it years ago! You're just late to the party! But remember, after 15 years or so, we're all indifferent to it. Maybe in another 15, we'll love it.
  6. It will happen gradually enough over time that you won't notice until you compare it to a new one. I hate to say it, but buying more ropes is in your future if you want to be skiing your best when you get to a tournament (which almost always use new ropes).
  7. Yes, the switch from PP to zo made changes. With PP , you could slow the boat quite a bit and get the rebound off the 2nd wake to shoot you up on the boat easier. That's the thought behind the stretchy ropes, but they don't quite work the same way. ZO is so quick to react, and new motors are more powerful. So, the speed swing is much less. The stretchiness can help some skiers, BUT I think the main thing is trying to ski with the same % of stretchiness that you can. I know I've skied with certain ropes too long...they go from a certain amount of stretchy to nothing at all...steel cables. It's added another variable. I ski with a guy that came to ski with a new rope. He went from running deep 39 to missing 38 after 38. He got super frustrated, and about 5 days later, he mentioned his rope was new. We put my old rope back on, and he went right back to mid/deep 39. Pay attention to all your changes.
  8. Feet at full length, not when you get to 39/41....maybe 3-4 inches. Disclaimer- i have not put a gauge on it at 39/41.
  9. @Stevie Boy hit the nail on the head....COMMON SENSE PREVAILED. Boat trader is run about 10 people...with hundreds of thousands of ads....so are the other for sale websites. Just use your common sense. I think my dad said this first ..haha...When it's too good to be true, it is too good to be true.
  10. Nice camera work on the parachute guy...haha...point it up!
  11. Buy the boat you want! It doesn't matter if you pay 2k higher than you want....at the end of 6 or 7 years, who cares? Life's short! so , it may have cost you an extra 300 or 500 per year...who cares? Buy the boat you love and enjoy!
  12. When you get there, you'll know. It didn't used to be suspiciously low....who'd of thunk it? Don't invest in gold people....you should have bought 3 or 4 older tournament ski boats!
  13. About 1 in 10 wears one in a tournament. There are safety personnel on shore, and in boat in case of a problem.
  14. There will always be new ski boats as long as there is demand.
  15. KLP is up to making some great skis! My new one is REALLY fast....back in the game! He also has a wing that is a much thinner profile.
  16. Use a little less wing angle when taking out Lilly pads...1/2 degree.
  17. Just use a strechier line! hahahaha
  18. If you do not have enough FREE PLATE with this stuff in front of and behind your boots, you are in trouble. The binding must stop with several inches left in front of the front foot, and several inches behind the rear boot. 250/250 works just fine. I found that 400/250 was too much and did not release when i thought it should on a 1/4 bouy attempt.
  19. Nobody would believe how much we ski and burn gas, and for sure you'd get audited for it every other year! haha...no thanks!
  20. Boots are different; bindings are different. I've always gone with where the back of your foot (it's approximate) is. Not where the back of the plastic is. Then you have to adjust from there. I just tried a different ski this morning...two sets, and now have to move forward from what I'm feeling. Ski worked better when i got aggressive and forward on it. It helps to have people in the boat giving you feedback on what it's doing from their perspective too...and good driving too.
