Will be interesting, for sure. High interest rates and economic slowdowns tend not to hit the super high-wealth, cash buyer types, which make up a pretty significant chunk of high end boat sales. Look across the lake at the RV dealer on the other side. They have tons of 40-80k inventory that most folks finance, but the 350k motor coaches are still selling at a slightly slower, but still steady clip. I think you also have a glut of demand waiting to pounce on low priced offerings. Lots of people are waiting for the bubble to pop and swoop in, which holds prices higher. To see this in action, look at sporty cars and HD trucks. Both were in short supply during COVID. Both have supply coming back online, but prices are still high and dealers are charging "market adjustments" on several models.

If watching the webcast, slalom is the most interesting by far. In person, jump has the biggest WOW factor to those who don't know the sport. When the Malibu Open used to be in Milwaukee (sure wish they'd bring that back), the event that drew the most passers-by was always jump. The simplicity of it helps.

The bottom edge of the reflex mount is notched for a screw head. Insert the screws into the slots before you tighten down those mounts, then place on the ski and tighten down.

back foot in butthole, handle by your front toes with arms straight. Ski pointed slightly left if a lefty, right if a rightie. Have driver drag you about 5 feet to start your motion going forward, then gently roll up. When I used to start double booted as a big guy, I preferred a slight bit of forward momentum before holeshot so you're not digging out from a dead stop. If you watch any tournaments, you'll see this is how everyone starts. There's a misconception with big skiers that we need WOT holeshots. While it's true that on some boats we might get up to WOT, it shouldn't be before the skier is already out of the water and starting to extend their feet away. WOT with a guy plowing water is a good way to need a new mirror for your boat, or worse. On the ski though, what's the Vapor doing for you that the Senate doesn't? I skied a Vapor for several years before switching to the Senate, and I haven't looked back.

Did anyone read this, stand up with feet in slalom alignment, straighten their back leg, and attempt to ascertain the relative location of their butthole to their ankles? Just me?

I just found my receipt. I am using the 33033 WIX. Been running great with that for 3 years.

I don't have a way to check without removing my rear panel but that number sounds familiar.

does yours have a spin-on or an inline filter back there? I replaced my spin-on with a WIX in-line.

My experience as well. Sacrifice a pair of tube socks. Cut them off at the ball of your foot. Put BOTH toe sections on your foot. Then heat mold. I wear size 14 shoes and every Vapor boot I've had didn't fit well prior to molding.

On the automatic steering thing... How can that possibly work without being super harsh? A good driver can know/feel when a skier is in scramble mode and anticipate/pre-correct path based on what the skier is doing. Auto-steer is only ever going to react, not anticipate. Imagine someone like a Jon Travers or Robert Pigozzi in scramble mode. Those guys can brutalize a boat and driver. ZO made it so that a skier has to be light and flowy. Imagine auto-steer will be 10x more of this. And for that reason, I don't think 43 will ever be run. You'd need to be 6'10" 120lbs.

Height in this sport seems like it's only an advantage to a certain point. After that, mistakes become amplified. Doesn't help that taller guys tend to be heavier, and ZO likes guys with bird-like figures.

Yeah, Radar and Syndicate ropes are really stiff compared to the other offerings out there. I loved the feel of all my Radar ropes, so the Comp took a little adjusting to. Nothing like the Optimized though. I won't even bother skiing if that's the only option. The X series is a perfect compromise for me.

Will White Pines grow well by you? They grow fairly quickly and do a good job of breaking up wind.

I've used both the Comp and the X series. I really like the X series since I like a stiffer rope. The Comp was great once broken in but the X was better for me right out of the box.

I made the switch to RTP last year and it frustrated me to the point I haven't really enjoyed skiing as much as I was. Prior to the switch, I was skiing the best passes of my life. I switched to avoid needing hip surgery since double booted starts were tearing up my back hip... but I'm almost to the point of going under the knife so I can go back to double boots. :(
