  1. completely off topic but @Horton I know you don't like people having two profiles BUUUUUT can you let @bigtex2011 make another one called 'outtatownchris', you know like Letterman then his alter ego evil Dave...bring some color to the site and really for the mental stability of @bigtex2011 cause he's got "relationship George is killing independent George" syndrome
  2. @jjackkrash for sure there will be complaints, that goes without saying, BUT a organization that is focused on the sport, on the participants, with low intervention, is nimble, and open minded would surely make the waters calmer...
  3. @lpskier thank you for the clarification and olive branch, Understand I have not had enough of organized waterskiing, I have had enough of the current organizations. There will always be merit and need for organizations, I just disagree with what is currently available and offering...
  4. @Horton the organization created their path by focusing on "other" things and lost the main focus which should be the sport itself and what members desire. Personal agenda's, old school mentalities, arrogance, entitlement all contribute to the path and slow demise, WSWC is in the same boat, it's a pandemic lol
  5. @lpskier little shocked by that comment and honeslty little put out by it, guess I read you wrong for a while...there is ZERO similar, the past issue he had was no where near the issue/s currently...the big difference is I LOVE THIS SPORT...I will have events, I will continue to try to grow and promote the sport in my area, or wherever I am, I will continue to do all I can FOR THE SPORT including dumping enough personal money and time to give my wife fits...it just won't be under the umbrella of USA Waterski.
  6. @kurt I agree 100% I asked early on about liability to participants, but add to that the way the policies are written organizers are now liable if they fail to follow, mandate, and POLICE the participants. I have already informed our SC regional Prez my site will NOT be holding AWSA/USA Waterski sanctioned events, will not be joining as a club, and I personally will not be joining or participating/officiating/driving/serving as PanAm in events...
  7. @elr in Canada it is NOT mandated for EVERYONE....available and suggested, but Board members and coaches last I was informed was mandatory...
  8. ...guess SS training is not all that's required, judges also need background checks, so is USA waterski automatically doing this for all listed judges or do the judges have to request or or????
  9. @bigtex2011 you wouldn't know what to do with a house that has a kitchen and doors :D
  10. Just recieved the email in regards to SS, the training itself maybe a sticking point for some. But the increased 'asks' of organizers is pushing the envelope for me. I have enough on my plate from a technical and organizational side but the extra 'ensurances' and 'reporting' that I must now do makes me question our site holding any sanctioned events this year. No one may care but I'm overloaded and tired of requirements as it is and my desire to put in this extra effort is tipping the scales for me.
  11. @Wish your analysis of stance is SPOT ON
  12. On a Denali couldn't the increase in space and time (vs. Every other ski) be considered warping space/time? Lol
  13. This website is slipping, how is it NO ONE has commented on the 'secret' Denali fin that got 'exposed' by the zealous TWBC cameraman??
  14. @LLUSA @JeffSurdej So the organization is not guaranteed to be shut down, but just "decreases the risk" (according to some mystery data that bears no definitive value) AND membership is now personally liable, taking some heat off USA Waterski as they did their due diligence and can say, "well we offered the program and they all should of been aware and acted appropriately" *washes hands and walks away* So with new liability on membership now, what is USA waterksi doing to protects it's members from liability in a scenario where person's may just be at a tournament where an incident occurred but had zero contact with any person in violation or victim, or knowledge of occurrence?? I am sure if said lawsuit comes about EVERYONE at the event will be named... Maybe @lpskier can shed some light too from a legal standpoint?
  15. @JeffSurdej you say "I also understand the reasoning as one incident could shut down the organization for good" Now not saying this in a grumpy, accusing, or negative way, it is an inquisitive question... So how does everyone taking safe sport STOP, not inhibit, or decrease the possibility of, STOP, the organization from getting shut down for good? If we all take it does that mean we (USAwaterski) is now exempt or protected from any actions that would cause complete shut down if an incident occured?
  16. Their websites and scoring make USA waterskis site amazing
  17. @Horton @skihart Can y'all get a panda??? Thanks to the awesome IWSF website both of ya are relaying FAKE NEWS lol Nate, Brian, Jamie in that order
  18. @Horton god forbid a INDEPENDENT third party did a ACTUAL test and came up with actual results which contravene your GM "expert" (whom is paid by said car company) and a group of "elite" skiers (who probably on the regular cannot afford to run premium) and at best should be taken with absolute minimal grain of salt as it is merely "seat of the pants"...A person who sits in a boat daily would notice more with the engine performance and credibility than a skier behind a boat... I can definitively say I am aware of multiple sites that have had records set and personal best performances on regular grade fuel. Boat dealers that Do not run premium in their own boats, or their ski school/club boats, skis schools that have NEVER ran premium and held pro and record tourney's on regular C'mon man there are so many variables in this sport that will affect scores before grade of fuel... ya gotta give it up man... :D *conspiracy theory* @Horton worked in the oil industry Did he actually leave??? or is he a corporate propaganda expert trying to manipulate the minds of the ski masses to buy more expensive and higher margin fuel??? #russiaranianfuelspy
  19. 1. why is your mass behind your feet? 2. your problem is obviously not after the wakes if this is your "cure" 3. the comments coming up will be entertaining :D
  20. "I am all for removing the use of gas vehicles" "I cannot wait to use EV cars, the world will be better" Look around you, what is the majority of the products in your house/office made from? Which country that pollutes by copious amount more than any other country or combination of are those products from? Why do you continue to support products from that country IF you CARE about the environment? How blind and narrow minded is a person to think IC vehicles are the major issue to a clean environment?
  21. Funny, lets assume 25% of the population is driving EV by 2035...where is the infrastructure to support that? Cali is already running into problems with providing enough electricity, a head of a japanese car mfg has already stated the world cannot support a large EV percentage. I do not see/hear of additional or upgrades to existing infrastructure in the works, yes conversion to using solar or wind instead of, but not addition too... and almost no acceptance of one of the cleanest energies, that most cringe at...nuclear
  22. @teammalibu I am in disbelief that was your answer lol @The_MS Coke? C'mon man, that 'woke' company...I thought you had morals lol
