  1. C'mon over to Bossier LA when you get a chance and ski Cottonwood!!
  2. @jcamp maybe someone who runs a retail business and lives in Canada has better knowledge of what is happening in the country than your little chart there that does not show cause...also your chart is irrelevant to your thought process of demand equals higher price...our economy sucks and has before covid, but prices kept going up because of the carbon tax which causes increased Gas/Diesel prices, our homes and businesses are all heated with Natural Gas (and it's cold as a witches tit here) which the carbon tax on that is 58% of the Natural gas costs, $100 in Natural gas $58 in Carbon tax, $158 bill plus the extra's, but I guess reality isn't a factor when you got charts lol @Horton sorry for the off topic!!
  3. @jcamp that theory is partially true but in our current era you need to enter 'carbon tax's' into the equation...in Canada the fuel (of all kinds) has seen noticeable bumps in price because of newly implemented carbon taxes, each year the carbon tax keeps increasing which has caused an noticeable increase in prices of EVERYTHING
  4. Have made 3 trip just over 2000 miles with a Tumacs cover and a few more 3-400mile trips, no issues at all, no rubbing, no damage, they are without a doubt the best covers out there
  5. First thing I noticed was the lack of ski in contact with water and thinking "dam...that is a good trough behind that Boo, probably a disadvantage to the skier...wonder which boats have a lesser trough at 41 & 43 But ya, committed 100% beastmode
  6. Well I can agree to the proposed changes, the $25 is a good start but should be put under consideration to be increased
  7. You're fine that beam is more than sufficient to support the roof load spanning full width, this is assuming you have sufficient support on wither end of the beam...annnnd what your local building code may allow
  8. As @drew has told me numerous times, when I even slightly commented about morning glare in the winter months at his lake, he would just look at me outta the drivers seat and say "get wider"
  9. @Horton "comfortable with a distance of 6 km or 10 mile"s is that like 10.25m or 28off type lengths? Just may have got that backwards sir
  10. Do not waste your time, was there for two weeks last year, had to get the boat out of the shed, had to get the boat running, had to install a slalom course, (not very accurate but we were skiing), the friend I was with had to bring a few buoys to actually have a course and had to find random buoys in the bush/shed/wherever, had to get fuel for the boat when needed a few miles down the road, had to launch and load the boat everyday, which we had to track down the only truck they have from the workers every morn, the display went on the boat last couple days left so we were hand driving and using our phones GPS to try to keep a steady speed, it was super windy everyday and we had backhoes taking rock from the lake and creating vertical shorelines, so we had regular rollers plus backhoe bucket rollers. the place could be AMAZING but they could care less, it was good to ski, but with all the effort it would of probably been easier to drive to Cancun and ski there, the most positive thing out of it was the story...it was a daily adventure..
  11. @dave2ball 30 years of history got us to where we are, past knowledge is a useful tool but how about some idea of what could work, with all due respect to you please share with your vast knowledge of what may work, we can all sit here forever and show err and throw shade on ideas but at least some of us are trying to find a solution.
  12. @dave2ball with the utmost respect pls tell us what would be optimal, it's easy for anyone to sit back and nit pick ideas but it seems putting forth a plan is like finding a unicorn there are many companies that have done well in the rental business format, the formula is secure/proven, the numbers above are legitimate with fair compensation. As a owner of a 200 at that rate I would allow use at a tournament, if I owned any of them I would be game, hell I would consider buying one of each making them available to the region We will always have those that will NOT want to use their 'personal' boat, but every promo guy that has a MC or TXi it is their personal boat, they pulled $75, $80, $85k plus out of their own pocket to get it, they gotta take the hit on it. In regards to pricing difference per year, you need to look at it from more than one perspective, big picture, your missing many other considerations. And insurance, maybe that is something that USA waterski provides within their tournament sanction. There are so many ways to ease this issue but our ingrained mentality of the past is inhibiting it
  13. @Horton based on @Gloersen post if you used one boat it would equate to $96.67/hour cost to the LOC, if it was two boats then it's $123.33/hour. This is all based on his parameters and the 6min per skier assumption Looking at used boat prices and having a pretty good general idea what a new '21 in all 3 MFG's cost here is my 'proposal' to promo guys/the powers that be/and the clubs... and to private owners allowing their boats for use: Malibu TXI/Mastercraft Prostar/Nautique 200 2021 $65/hour 2020 $55/hour 2019 $45/hour Ski Nautique 2021 $100/hour 2020 $70/hour 2019 $55/hour Mileage paid for travel to and from tourney $0.50/mile (based off of IRS 'business rate', but reduced) So the anomaly in this situation is the Ski Nautique, in the actual promo program it is not bought, the promo operator is not out a large chunk of money, nor do they have to worry about resale like the other promo programs, I am merely adding it into the mix as if an actual owner of one allows utilization of it. In reality the Ski Nautique under their promo program should be around the $15-$20/hour mark which is mostly to offset the promo person's costs There is not a piece of equipment in this world that you do not RENT BY THE HOUR, no need for us to find some new found difficult path. As a site owner that holds at least 2-3 tournaments every year I would have no issue paying these rates, for me it might actually get a promo boat to my lake and alleviate me having to buy a new boat every year or so just to hold tournaments
  14. @Horton wait....charge an extra $10 a set? Soooo 6 min per skier tourney set, 10 sets a round, $100/hour :D
  15. @The_MS I'll bring my new tug, $100/boat hr, free entry, free accommodations, and I'll be the Pan am and work any where you need for judging/driving too
  16. @The_MS would have it won on the dock, mental fortitude...
  17. @Horton @MS would win, he wouldn't even have to ski to his full potential... All this talk is gonna ignite another tirade filled insta post again :D
  18. cheeseburger...stay calm and say cheeseburger through the finish of the turn...then #beastmode
  19. From what I have learned Nautique is trying to facilitate a 24hr operation to assist in demand, obviously boat mfg's are not hiring for cashier positions at the Cirlcle K, need the right people and training involved, not a quick and simple task.
  20. I have skied behind one and it is not that bad, as @Justin says some ballast and it's reasonable, I am sure trim tabs and prop change would assist also...
  21. The theory to pay equally regardless of boat year is fine but it will eventually mean you're going to NEVER see a new boat at a tournament. (Personally I think it panda worthy) Why would I take my brand new 2021 $135,000 Ski Nautique to a tournament when Johnny's 2017 MC gets the same pay rate? Eventually these folks (with the new boats) will not bother bringing their new tug, welcome to tow boat socialism lol
  22. @rico and others...you do realize that the cost to 'rent' a boat is $100+/hour in today's market.
