  1. @ East Tx skier In BMW's and Mini 's it's the oil vapor they clean up. They don't have exhaust rerouting on the turbos. cheers
  2. @ east tx skier. Same goes for my Mini Cooper S. At 14,000 mi I could already feel a performance drop due to carbon buildup, along with decreased fuel economy. After a cleaning I was back to new. I now installed an additional catch can in the recirculated gasses track. Now with an additional 16,000 mi it still feels normal. Have to remember to clean out the catch can every few weeks though as there's a lot of stuff there. I'd hate to see this in our boats, it's enough work now.
  3. 1995 Response, 2200 hr Lots of aluminum in the motor made the wake tiny even for kids and 100 extra hp didn't hurt it
  4. Sawgrass Recreation Park off the 27 has air boat rides, gator spotting (morning) and a small zoo.
  5. Our company does engineering & surveying. We "buy" time from a provider for our survey signal. Our accuracy is a few millimeters, 2 to 4mm I believe, depending on where we are.
  6. east tx skier has it right, get some lube on there (not oil or grease) cheap Vasoline works well for impellers and switches.
  7. Also, can you tell if it's backfiring up the intake or just out the exhaust ?
  8. @ Horton and so do people that just visit. I was stuck at couple at 38 last year then went to Chet's for a few days. Even though I ran into a stretch of bad weather I came within a 1/2 ball of running it. Gotta love that water. ( OK, the coaching too)
  9. OK what about a comparison to the Nano mid ?
  10. Ex NHLr Cam Russell is coach of a Major Junior Team in Halifax ( that's in Canada guys) He's a fairy regular skier.
  11. Started road racing at 17 continued till 29, worked, then started racing again 48 until last year. Rode on the street most of the time. Current street bike Ducati 1198, race bike TZ125. There are similarities between road racing and slalom, but bikes don't float too well.
  12. @ USAski1 I have a carb boat and Z box. I've not had any problems, but setup is crucial. GOODEskier has some valid points in another post about setup, although I never had to put the back ground setting quite as high as him. I skied on the same settings at Chet's on a new CC as I do at home. They feel very close, but I'm only 143 lb and into deep 38.
  13. It took 5 days at Chet's but upped practice from 2 @ 38 to 5
  14. At Chet's right now but once I get home it'll be too cold.
  15. Thanks for posting the vids & pics. Not as good as being there, but nice to see.
  16. Still love road racing motorcycles, especially 250 GP bikes, fast enough and corner like nothing else ( except a 125 maybe) . Back in the late 70's I sat on the grid with 60 other riders. 6 of them were current, past or to be world champs, it was the only time racing I had butterflies in the stomach. It was also pretty cool brushing your elbow on the concrete wall at Daytona at 150 mph.
  17. Shoulders torn three times but I think I've sprained everything at least once.
  18. @ OB I did overreact but I disagree, it's still talking down. Most of the reason Z Box was developed was to give some of us a chance to ski the same at home as in tournaments that have new boats with Zero Off. A rotary phone is still better then no phone. Around here we don't have even one Zero Off boat pull any of our 5 tournaments a year but, some of our skiers do go away and have to ski behind ZO, so Z Box is great for that. Nats = similar attitude
  19. @goodeskier see the Z Box User information sheets that came with Z Box. On page 3 it's pretty clear. Not only that I've been building different motor combinations and I've had to play with these quite a bit and find that description pretty accurate. @OB unfortunately some of us aren't as well off as you are, but that's no reason to piss on them. Probably why I haven't been to the Nats for some time.
  20. Kx does have an effect, it controls how quickly, overall, PP responds. Carb boats vs fuel injected are much different, but individual boats are aslo. Background settings zbx & abc, are there so you can match your settings to your friends Zero Off boat. abc is the adjust for the letters. zbx adjusts the numbers. If your boat runs away once gps engages a common problem is electrical interference. I has a slightly loose connection n the starter once that created that. Boat would run & start normal but PP would run away once, or shortly after gps engaged. Another common problem is interference from adjacent wiring. Never "coil" your excess.
  21. @ E_T They're lucky over there in Calgary they have power, out east we're just using candle light at night. Not sure about what internat is eh!
  22. @ wish - yeah, clean the vinyl with some 3M Vinyl cleaner/conditioner and put some carpet cleaner on the carpet. There's not a lot of gas in fuel now and some of those chemicals stay on top, so you can wash the majority of the residue off. That's what I do and it seems to help.
