    Z-BOX revisited

@ Dan, are you putting in the crew weight ? On short setups it makes a difference on mine for sure. What is your entance speed outside of the course around the 55's ? For me to get actuals on most segments and I need to be right around 55. 4.
  2. 68 yesterday afternoon. Nova Scotia
  3. It's great to find a good PT. I went for years on and off to different therapists but was totally discouraged with them so I quit. When I went for my dislocated shoulder a year and a half ago to I went to someone that was recommended. Just like you I can't say enough about them. I'm up north in Nova Scotia though, so they wouldn't be much good to most of you.
  4. I believe the blue were thinner.
  5. For the short time I went "wingless", I had to add some depth to get the ski to work.
  6. Smart timer must be unplugged for maps to function.
  7. Aluminum fins - every second set - Horton's CF fins - once a month
  8. I had a similar problem. I solved mine by adjusting the connection between PP and the end of the throttle cable so it pushes back on the thottle cable quite a bit which holds the carb closed. This can be done with the long brass nut on the PP cable or the adjuster with the two 10mm nuts.

    best prop

Has anyone tried a OJ XMP prop on their 1:1 ?
  10. I've still have my original 9100 with "low miles" on it. It would be hard to step back to rubber bindings though.
  11. @ thager, Mouth - 2 types - hockey usually employs a guard that goes over the upper teeth, bike racing uses one that goes over the lower teeth.
  12. Helmets are good, but in motorcycle racing and hockey, an intregal part is a shock absorbing mouth guard.
  13. Ham it didn't go well. You certainly can feel how wide the forebody is. The ski is more stable overall but on my second set the wind started to blown up from the side. Like an idiot kept skiing. I was just running 32's and the ski bounced on a wave on my off side. All my weight went on my front foot suddenly. The fore body being wider didn't sink in the water and hyper compressed-extended my ankle. Out for a few week at least. Bummer.
  14. I've also seen on older motors and that is the block chocked full of rust that has crumbled off the inside or sediment from the lake. It usually fills around the back cylinders first bcause the motor is tilted back. You can pop out the back frost plugs and vacuum out the pieces or sediment. Then buy a rubber frost plug that has a T handle which expands it. Have you checked your compession ? If the motor is gettin tired it'll do what you describe too.
  15. First thing is that it is not recommended to run your raw water cooled motor for more than 30 seconds without water at 1000 rpm. So, most people use a 15 sec test and multiply. Second, what @ DW said about going to your pumps manufacturer and looking for specs. Most of our pumps will put out around 6-8 gpm at 1000 rpm, and around 20-30 gal at 3500 up. I've seen recommendations by some of the race boat builders that for ultimate engine life and durability you need about 8-9 gpm for every 100hp produced but there's a lot of variables as water temperature etc..
  16. This is great way to smuggle rum !
  17. Weather looks bad for the next few days, but will do.
  18. BTW Ham , just sitting here in the office and in comes Fed X with my new Mid ride as opposed to traditional I had last year. It'll be interesting.
  19. I've got a Nano I can't ski like her Ham ! In all seriousnes though, she has a traditional shape Nano, but she uses one size larger then recommended for her weight/size. So, does that constitute a mid-ride in a way ?
  20. Great webcast yesterday and today. Ball of hair looked good in the announcers stand !
  21. All of the above plus, if you don't already, take your impeller out for the winter. Once they set with the blades bent, they pump less water particularily at idle.
  22. GAJ0004 I had 265hp for the last 17 years. It was a bit of a pain. Even at 34 it wouldn't hold decent segment times with 3 people in the boat, it was somewhat better with 2 and acceptable with just the driver. It would struggle to get in tolerance for 36 times with 3 people in the boat. Now with an additional 60-70 hp there is no problem being within .01 all segments. But the big thing I notice is the the pull duration is shorter so you get free earlier.
