  1. I've done the same as Marco for years, works well. I use a two bulb halogen. Unusual for two to fail.
  2. Congrat's Brady, that's great ! It dosen't sound like you need any encouragement, but I'll just throw this in, skiing just gets better and better when you're in shape.
  3. @ rico, yes now that I saw the vid I agree. Always liked that one better then the others for slalom.
  4. Eric, this was expalined to me by some one much smarter then me. There are two GPS signals sent from the satellites. The most commonly used is the positioning one to find where you are on the earth and you are correct it's not very accurate although I was told it can be within three feet. The second is a time/distance based signal which we use to control the actual speed. It's accurate but dosen't know where it is, just how far it has gone from the setpoint. The reason the beep is not always in the same spot is that the speed control uses the positioning signal to locate the course, and it is only accurate to at best the three feet mentioned above.
  5. If we all go electric the utility companies will just raise the price of electricity as per suppy/demand rules just like the fuel companies are doing now (record profits). Carefull for what you wish.
  6. Take the system off and see if all is back to normal. I've built race motors for 38 years and I know that when you make such a radical change to the exhaust the rest of the motor managment systems require recalibartion for the type of smooth response we require or skiing.
  7. @ Horton "What is cold water skiing?" Come up here next month and I can treat you to to the "experience"
  8. @ clemsondave - I agree. I've always had my bouys inflated to 7.8-7.9 with 1/2 of it out of the water. At 7.8" that's 3.9" high. Perfect when 1/2 filled with water. Been trying to get people to do the same but until this year it was a hard sell.
  9. @ Steve Haines - Did the same thing 5 -6 years ago on my old dial calipers that are at least 15 years old. Totally reliable as long as you clean them sometimes.
  10. @ buski - fact is that you ski better when you're not shivering. If you live above the 45 parallel that's most of the time (except for this summer). Let em rib you, just outski them.
  11. Try taking 3-4 off the ball 1 setting
  12. First off, a -.09 is fast not slow so I'm assuming you meant +.09. Are you setting up the skier weight factor, Feather, Light, Nomal, XL befor you ski each person ? If its on no skier or too light it will show a slow first segment and then take off once it does the first calculation of speed. To set the factors press on/off & up keys together, use menue to move up and down the list. Press the up key to bring up the b1, b3 ans b4 to exit settings. Increase the numbers for a fasrter segment.
  13. Nice skiing Than, that's only a dream for me.
  14. The Response hull is quite slippery ( good fuel economy) but that make it harder for the speed control to maintain exact speeds. Coming in slow ? Do you mean below 55 at no load into the pregates ? My 95 Response was surging a little after ball ,1 so I set ball 1 to be .01 fast. Now I have no surge. Times usually come in -.01, +.01, -.02, -.01, +.01 at 16.95 so the last ball must be +.02. All at 32 to 35 off. Having a fast segment seems to slow down the next.
  15. Isoproply achohol will damage the bottom finish paint of the older Goode's. Dish soap and a soft fingernail brush are my fav's.
  16. 4-5 days a week - most days 1 set (due to darkness or cold) but 2 if weather permits.
  17. I agree with skibug 1oo%. I also find that canting the back binding affects the the on and off side turn. For instance on my current ski I had to cant it quite a bit to get it to initate the offside turn.

@lff - sorry. No it's not a problem, a friend of mine is a chemical engineer he reminds me that pretty well all metals rust or corrode in some fashion. On a nibril prop, the corrosion just gets polished a little black due to the forces. Different water will accelerate this. If it was excessive cavitaion, thager has got it right (pitting on the prop also.)

That's pretty funny as 911 SC's and Carerra's in the 80's were air cooled (until the 996). I can let you have some out of my 1976 RS
