  1. jefflyman, I put an aluminum plate/angle on my Response a few years ago when we had some water issues for one season. Because I didn't want anything permanent, I just bolted it through the drain plug hole. Just kept trimming it and changing the angle/plate until the wake was back where I wanted it.
  2. @ usaski1 Yes mine was both. (OJ 4 force) Not huge, but certainly noticeable. Only downside was the opposite to Eltorro's experience, at trick speeds we got a small double ripple off the wake, but it is minor. That's the difference in boats. We mainly slalom so I would never go back..
  3. @GAJ004 unless you can source the magnets cheap, the timer option is less expensive. You might find that a few people may want to sell their timers once they get the Zbox.
  4. I went from a 13.5" ?x 13 three blade to a 13x13 four on my Response. The wake did get slightly smaller and as you say rounded, but it wasn't a big difference. I did get considerably better acceleration and speed holding though.
  5. @ GAJ0004 If you have 8 magnets you can put them all on one side of the course, then you get another timer for the other side of the boat. Now you get all the gate/bouy times from the magnets.
  6. @ lhoover - I wasn't trying to belittle Andy, Freddy or Natalia's input by any means, and Andy had some input into PP anyways along with another long gone system. But what I was trying to point out is that a huge section of skiers had wishes known, and mainly realized by Eric. So if you don't like the pull fom PP it's only that it works like it does because the majority wanted it that way. On another note, almost every racing series has limited the amount of fuel that can be used for a paticular event. It appears to me that from the systems I have seen and used, PP classic uses the least fuel, Stargazer is next and ZO uses the most. Will legislation see us devoping systems that use less fuel ? Electric boats are not good up here as they actually pollute more because so much of our power is coal generated.

  8. @ OB I think everyone has forgotten that PP was developed with input from, and wishes off all the skiers, especially the elite. Eric Horton spent a lot of time tweaking and changing to give skiers what they wanted. That's not the way ZO was developed.

  10. @ rico You don't need drive by wire to get within 0.01, the servo is capable also. There are many factors that infuence all speed controls performance and feel from boat maintenance to human infuences.
  11. usaski1 Including myself, I think many here are in the same boat so to speak.
  12. Horton, go see a MotoGp race live on a fasr track, makes the F1 guys look gi..s
  13. Our lake usually goes up 1 ft per day in the rain. I have 2 courses, one sank and one EZ-Slalom. The sunk one has bricks over copper loops that ballast the bouys. Works fairly well but if the ropes wind up and the water goes up quickly you might have to reach down and unwind a ball and bring it up. On my EZ-Slalom the bouys are on rubber tubing, at one end of the course, at the pre's, I have a winch. It takes just one or two minutes from the boat platform to get it adjusted if need be. As a safety, my anchors will drag if the water attempts to get above the balls. 4-1 scope on each end. In both courses the water depth varies from anout 6' to 16'. No matter what course you have they all need some maintenance.
  14. @onside135 - I agree 100%, plus being an old guy, I will say that balancing all the muscles will also help from rep strain injuries as you get older.
  15. I had a hit some years ago, not a bad one but a nick and small bend in one blade. Put a new prop on and still had some vibration. I had less than .002 eveywhere except on the taper itself where the prop actuall wobbled. Put a new shaft on and it was perfect.
  16. Halifax Regonal Municipality - Nova Scotia - Beaver Bank Lake Sat morning -33 deg
  17. from the driver - which way should I go ?
  18. Downhill, hockey, cross country, none of it comes close, until another year, au reviour summer
  19. Nice Photos Horton, I just wish I could be there as it's too cold here !
  20. I'd like to get 4 if possible
  21. @jadarwin, do you know if a 9960 skis the same as a 9900 ? Reason I ask is that not a lot of manufacturers including Goode have much info on making skis small enought for 136lb, 5'7, 55 year olds. My Nano has what appears to be quite a bit of twist about 3/8"
  22. Thanks guys, I think I made a mistake and got a traditional twist. It's so unforgiving I'm down to 2-4 @ 35 rather than 2-3 @ 38 on my 9700 last year. I'm thinking of going to a 63.75 mid. as it appears to me it may be more forgiving.
