  1. I've been messing around with my bindings trying to kill some time until my new ski comes in. I measured the front binding 29 3/8, back was 17 1/8. So the spread is 12 1/4". My feet are size 11. Seems like too much although on a good day I can get thru 38. Today I the back binding closer, my offside wasn't as good, the on side could have been better. I was in a huge rush, so I thought I would give it a whirl again tomorrow. Any thoughts based on experience.
  2. @spesh i ran 2.506, .782, 6.835 wing at 7 and bindings at 29 3/8 for 18 months. 35 was a lock, 38 about a 1/3 of the time. good luck. heck i'm going to try dirts numbers.
  3. I know on our old '08 sn196 you could take it to the dealer and he could plug in to the ecm and see the actual hrs. maybe that is an option for you. 50 hrs is so low.
  4. I used to sweat the record. But now since zero off, they really feel about the same. I really just try to run my 38. i have no chance at winning or breaking a record. Some times I get lucky and the top few seeds fall early and I get 4th or 5th. I guess in a strange way, I am benefiting off of bad luck. hmm, it makes me smile..:) But I go for the venue, or the wifey. She had and has a record, so I just tag along. So to answer your question, I like to ski tourneys. it doesn't matter what kind.
  5. to a certain degree I run the fin longer until it starts to decelerate or pitch me at my offside. i know that will be my maximum length so i go a skoosh shorter than that #. also you may try to leave the fin alone and move only your front binder forward an 1/8" at a time.. i am no expert. but that is what i generally do as with anything it is trial and error, good luck and be careful..
  6. oh dear.... thats why i hate looking at pictures and video of myself. it's too honest. good skiing @ than_bogan and shane you ski pretty well when you dont have a 20 minute gate review
  7. my wife got the regular quest. the gs was to soft for her. she is an advanced skier. i think you can order both and send one back. they will cram both skis in a box and save on shipping. good luck
  8. i too use FM liners.. the tour pro. i had a tailor cut some of the overlap and sew a new seam.
  9. Ive been skiing without a wing for about 6 months. I've been nursing some injuries and figured i would ck it out while I'm in the "take it easy mode". I've tried it on a Fusion ans an A2. It worked great thru 35. For me, I've added a little length in cool water and the reverse in warm water. I hope to test this theory on the short stuff soon as my dings are slowly feeling better.
  10. my spouse rounding 2 at 35 last year. good times
  11. i bought the FM tour pro. i took it to a tailor and had the overlap cut back and they sewed a new edge back on. works great..
  12. Got mine from Joe as well. all good. the liner was lame so i ended up getting one from FM. the binding and the release are awesome.
  13. We skied with Seth on Monday up near Dallas. We had a great time. He specifically told me he was devising a plan to get more otf's out of the Houston crowd. I need to podium this year, so I gave him a list of victims, I mean skiers. He told me to close my eyes and turn harder. Strange advise..... good times
  14. thx guys for all the help. i'm going to send my wife to 2 or 3 of these places. i cant wait to give her the list tonight.
  15. yes, we had a rubber 45# plate, but it went with the old boat. I don't want to use a metal plate because it's too tough on the carpet.
  16. Looking for best boat weight and easiest to balance 2012 Malibu txi. We used to have a 45# rubber boat weight for the sn200 we used but it stayed with the boat. I was think of concrete in a plastic tool box, but I'm sure there is a better way. Thx Chris.
  17. i would go with the d3 or ho. imho they last a bit longer. the elites ive skied on have a small sweet spot... good luck
  18. i dont know if it would be good in a tournament idea. but honestly, even though it tough on the body i love for my wife to floor it and do some giant double ups and chunk me and or my kids half way across the lake. we have contests at the lake, if you dont run or better your average skiin then you must ride the tube. i laugh so hard that you barely notice the blood.
  19. I ski behind both. the 200 is a great boat.. the txi way better on fuel. the edge goes to txi. less money out the door and less out the wallet throughout the ski year. 300 sets a year or roughly 100 hrs.. roughly 300 gallons for txi and roughly 450 gallons for 200. the sn196 is the best of both in my humble opinion ..
  20. my wife had a bad ankle injury. she uses a velcro ankle wrap that has a built in lace brace. then uses a thin liner in her hard shell. this will be the 4th year of this set up. she has tried getting rid of the brace, but no can do.
  21. as an after thought, it is not my boat and i am only a member. i would say though, i believe it discourages new people from trying the ski site out and therefore our membership hasn't grown in years. the other site i am a property owner. so it is a bit more laid back.
