  1. @Jody Seal What is the story behind the gator on the swim platform?
  2. Does anyone happen to know Nate's height/weight?
  3. @Chuck_Dickey I thought I remembered this discussion previously...You might find this thread helpful...
  4. @lpskier...But it just might be one of the nicest places on Earth. It is definitely one of my favorites. I grew up skiing on Brant Lake.
  5. I guess I'm not buying them either. I am pinching pennies right, so I can afford to become a rated driver in the next couple of years! I'm sure your video is great, best of luck at the film festivals, and I'll look forward to the digital download.
  6. The trailer looked great, but to be honest, I'm not inclined to spend 17.99+ shipping to watch it. When DVD sales stagnate, maybe you will consider a link on the site to watch it online for a couple bucks? Possibly even through this website. Just my .02
  7. I figured @Horton might like a slogan slightly related to hair care...
  8. BOS - Sunrise, Slalom, Sunset...Repeat I still think @east_tx_skier has it right though-> "Shortline...Online" is fitting.
  9. @Taelan28 A V-Drive should have a rudder while and I/O will have an external unit which the prop is mounted on. This whole unit w/the prop turns to steer the boat. Judging from most of the pictures, I'd guess that boat is a V-drive, or maybe even direct. That steering yoke is a little odd. You and Michael Knight might be the only dudes with one. Good luck in your search.
  10. So when do we think Andy's ski will hit the market? Any rumors?
  11. BOS...The fix for six ball sickness
  12. The program is not compatible with Safari browser. After further review, there is a small note regarding this at the bottom of the instructions...if you read that nonsense! I missed it, but it still let me do the whole course and test only to score my test a zero. Just waiting words from iDrive...
  13. @OB...I had the same issue. Tested on 2 Mar. Talked to Melanie (who seems very nice/helpful) at USA Water Ski, and she said it is likely because I have a Mac computer, and she relayed my problem to the iDrive folks. I have not heard a word from them. I am considering cancelling payment on the credit charge. In related news...I now have very good gouge for the test if anyone needs it!
  14. More than what? The 196...197s...?
  15. @Brent The old style (black gloves with red stitching) were far better than the newer ones. I can't pinpoint exactly when they changed up the manufacturing, but the new S.L. Kevlar Classics are a far inferior product compared to their old gloves. Last season I started with a new pair of new style S.L. Kevlar Classics...they lasted about 1 month. Fortunately, a ski buddy sold me an old pair of S.L Classics he had in his garage for a number of years (unused). I used them for the next 4 months, a plan to start up with them again in April. They just don't make things like they used to. I too am exploring alternatives. Considering 41 Tails, K-Palms and D3 Enzos. Anyone have any experience with D3 Enzos?
  16. The "Spin it to Win It 38 Off Challenge" is pretty solid...1/4 speed would be about 1/2 hr long...it might screw up the soundtrack though!
  17. Because he was born in the 1990s?
  18. This thread is a little bit crazy, and very much validates @Than_Bogan's point. Admittedly, I do not have a lot of Zero Off experience, but it seems ridiculous how many options there are. It also seems like no matter what system/setting is out there, most could adjust to it. To a guy who has about 1 1/2 summers in the course (me), it is overwhelming to know that that are so many variables to choose from. My ski partner just got the ZBox, so I am definitely looking forward to knowing what setting I should use. I am not looking forward to figuring out which that is...seems like it could take the whole summer. I would hate to pick the wrong one and ruin a potential career as a pro skier!
  19. @matteoianni....The explanation you provided sounds reasonable though it loses some credibility by employing metric units for weight!
  20. Just like @alex38, I'm far from a coach. The biggest thing I noticed was that you forgot to pull your shorts over your thighs before the 55s. Accomplishing this might get you a little wider and early at 6 ball!
  21. The boat buyer's guide used to be good back in the '90s. I remember Tige's slalom boat receiving very high scores in '93 or '94. Somewhere around that time, Nautique stopped offering its boats to be tested, and may have even pulled some advertisements as a result of relatively low scores in the boat testing. Things seem to have changed since then regarding how boats are tested/scored. Considering all the manufacturers being tested are also the major advertisement revenue, I suppose it is hard to bite the hand that feeds you.
  22. I saw it mentioned in another thread (Grow the Sport Thread...I think) that Water Ski Magazine has seen a decline in readership over the years. I'm interested to know what share of folks on this forum are dedicated subscribers, and if not...why? *To start things off, I have been a subscriber for as long as I can recall...since my folks were paying for the subscription! As I struggle with hoarding, I have every Boat Buyer's Guide since the early 90s.
  23. I think he was in a UHaul Truck...He must of had one of their trailers that posts a maximum speed of 45mph! 45mph...yeah, ok!
