  1. If you put that tournament together in the 90's - don't invite Chico State... their drinking team had a skiing problem and they were damn good in both events
  2. A few throwbacks in there and no mention of Camiille, Jennifer, Kristi or Deena... those ladies could rip it up and look good doing it  A few of my all-time favs: Marcus, Terry, Koz, Paredes... loved watching those NorCal guys go at it!
  3. Appreciate it MB! Brings back good memories watching Wade, Andy, Carl and others battle it out in Sac town every year. I remember getting Wade's autograph and his vibe was so chill and cool but man did his demeanor change when he slipped into his bindings. Same for Andy... I loved watching these guys' pre-game routine... so focused!
  4. Amen @ALPJr! Big festival, cityscape, night skiing... a beer booth -- would be cool!
  5. oh... but plus 6 with zbs so a nice 10.5 would go into the books - lol
  6. Well Sir, you would have had to come out off the dock at -47 because -45 full pull using mini on one side would have netted a 4.5 nc... so your score according to your chart... well, it would be a 4.5
  7. @greghayes - love the idea and I'll stay tuned to the "wait for it" that @Than_Bogan hinted about. I have a hunch something good is in the making!
  8. @keithh2oskier - I hear you on creating a waterski tip jar - but it's to easy for my kids and wife to withdraw from that bank - lol. APR? Same as cash is 0.0% This was just food for thought! I'm just thinking I might buy more " brand new" products if I had the option that I have at most home improvement stores, furniture stores, etc.
  9. @lakeaustinskier - I'm just saying that I'd be more inclined to buy a brand new ski if I had a same-as-cash purchase option. Just like furniture shopping... spread it over several months to lessen the burden. $1500 or less purchase (6-month option), $1500 or more purchase (12-month option).
  10. How many hours of SIA slalom searches do you do and get ready to pull the trigger but yield to new conversation about a new ski that just sounds awesome? I don't know how many circles I rotate in the off season thinking about a new ski for the upcoming season but it's damn near shameful. So I'm thinking to myself, would I just pull the trigger on a new ski if the immediate purchase wasn't a chunk of cheddar? I'm thinking yes -- if there was a same-as-cash purchase option that allowed me to spread that cheese over a span of 6-18 months for example -- I'd probably purchase a ski and binding setup every other year. Am I nuts - for sure... but who is with me?
  11. @MattP - I think @Horton earns a panda for his "self promotion"... although I'm fully supportive of his H2H idea... any chance you can provide that to him?
  12. Initial thought... I like it! But 3-days? How about no more than 2 and each skier is guaranteed at least 3-rds. Feasible?
  13. Any word on when/if the video they have -- when it will be available? I've been checking Nautique's website, Vimeo and YouTube.
  14. The sense of getting to know stars in our sport on a personal level fascinates me. Like Marcus often explains -- we've got some unbelievably talented people in our sport (young guns up through the veterans) and it's really cool to get insight on their training, thought processes, lifestyle, etc. I feel like a goober sometimes but whenever I'm in the presence of stars in our sport - I find myself constantly studying everything they do to see if there's anything I can pluck away that can help my skiing or just improve the quality of life. Thanks @MarcusBrown for continuing to pique my interest!

  17. much appreciated @DumbAss - I'll take you up on that offer... to call you  we'll talk about the beer stash later
  18. Thanks guys... really appreciate all the input. Keep it coming if there's more
  19. @rodltg2 - appreciate it Rod but this opportunity looks really good... we'll see what pans out thanks @jedgell - it seems a lot of people who have skied at Lakes of Cypress walk away talking about how much they loved it. Curious to what Cypress folks have to say about the community, schools, weather, etc.
  20. It's always been a dream to live on a private lake and I'm very interested in the house for sale on Cypress Lakes in Cypress, TX. We are a family of 4. Two boys ages 9 & 14. We are currently members at a private lake about 45-min from where we live and we love our membership and the community we live in. Our family really enjoys life on the water - we are tournament skiers. We live for time on the water so this opportunity in Cypress has me really thinking. We could actually live at a great facility and have the waterski life right in our yard. This isn't an easy nor affordable thing in California. I've reviewed the climate patterns, the schools, the surrounding communities and I also have a potential job opportunity that would allow me to live in Cypress. I'd really like to hear from people familiar with Cypress Lakes and even better -- homeowners at Cypress Lakes. Can you tell me about the things you love about Cypress Lakes and the surrounding community? What are some of the things you dislike about the area? How are the schools? Much appreciated - thanks!
  21. Goode offers 30-day money back guarantee if you don't love the ski. You just pay the shipping.
  22. I think whatever movement that helps keep your shoulders level through the turn. If you look at skiers like the McClintock's or even T-Whisper... you'll see off arms quite high and to the point where it may be perceived as flailing but the more I study their approach the more I think it's their way to balance and keep their shoulders level.
  23. Another reason I share this is because we joined a ski club on a private site a few years ago so boating laws became a lesser priority for us and I feel other Ballers on private sites could maybe benefit from the idea... I completely understand the concern if you are solely a public waters skier.
