  1. We have our boat on the lift, and ski all through the winter. I put a heater in it, and our winters really are pretty mild.
  2. Ted boysen, 56 y.o., retired insurance claims adjuster, started skiing at about 11, but never learned the important stuff. Grew up on a peat bog, and bow lake next to the sea Tac airport, and helped dad with the top soil business. Like lap swimming, snow skiing, walking the dog, and especially waterskiing on lake stevens with the mrs., and friends. Ran my first full pass this may in Florida, am member of hill top lake, and we are in the lake stevens ski club. We are having lots of fun!
  3. Wait, it looks like this is shadow lake. Did they change the name?
  4. Lake 33? We thought the only waterski lake in the Palm Springs area was shadow lake in Indio, which we have been looking into. We will have to look into lake 33.
  5. Spring loaded, precurved gloves?
  6. A couple years ago at a city council meeting a lake resident was complaining about another lake residents type of aircraft which he sometimes kept and used on the lake.(IMO, always safe and responcible). I got up and said that we have to be careful to not pit neighbor against neighbor here. There is plenty of room for ski boats, wakeboard boats, fishing boats, jet skis, sail boats, row boats, sea planes, and ( this type of aircraft). And the moment that some people criticise, another persons chosen method of enjoyment, than your chosen enjoyment will next be at risk, and then we will all be at risk of over regulation. Almost everyone agreed, and we haven't heard about this particular issue lately. (although other environmental entity powers are frightening).

    How high

I agree that boat is priced about double of what it's worth. At 15,500, it would make train go down a dirt road.
  8. USA, I got the white nylon bunks from the hydro lift guy in puyallup, and then afterwards he called me and got mad at me because I had a nymon lift, which I told him to begin with anyway. Anyway, the nylon bunks are great during the times that you have to power the boat off and on. They were a couple hundred bucks.
  9. USA, I have a Neman water lift which worked great with my old Glastron o/b, and works pretty good with our 02 s/n, but I made it better by lag bolting additional 2x6x10 nylon bunks right on top of my existing 2x6x10 carpeted wood bunks. (Countersink the heads). This bought me a little extra height for the low water levels, so my skegs would clear stuff better. My water level fluctuates between 4.5 & 2.5 feet. My problem though was not the rear cross bars, but the very front cross bar, and the water cylinder at the lowest water levels. (The front skegs would hit). The above mostly solved this problem, and also during low water levels, I just don't bring my boat in as far forward. A side benefit to the nylon bunks is that they are real slippery, which compensates for the extra 1.5 inches in hight in times of low water conditions. Hope this helps.
  10. And juleps, yes, I think the s2 is "more nimble for a scrambler" than the coex.
  11. And juleps, yes, after making my first full pass on the 2012 triumph in may, and skiing at the bow lake course during the summer, as well as free skiing at a larger lake at home, the upgrade bug hit me.(although it didn't really need to, as I was still improving on the triumph). Anyway, I demoed a co ex sl, and tried to like it, but I just couldn't get through the course nearly as easy as the triumph. Also, it wanted to bite me at times. (Same with free skiing). I then demoed a s2, and it felt like butter. Ran a full pass on my second try, and it skied me down to 26m.p.h., which the co ex didn't do as well. Easier deep water starts than the co ex also; almost as easy as the triumph. My ability is still more matched to the triumph though in all honesty. But I'm trying to get better now on my s2, which I know I will. I gave the new triumph to my wife, and she loves it too. Hope this helps.
  12. As winter, I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but you will notice a significant performance difference between the 2012/2013 triumph, vs. the 2011 and older. I would also strongly recommend to upgrade to the syndicate fine system for the triumph. If you want to upgrade above the triumph, I would recommend going straight to the s2 instead of the co ex. Some people would disagree, but I found the s2 more user friendly than the co ex.
  13. I second what lakeaus said about trying new skis. I'm a little embarrassed at the number I have tried, but it's a good problem to have. I went back to the new triumph, and now the 2013 s2. Loving it.
  14. There are a lot of outboard boats that are reasonably small, sea kindly, and have a small wake.
  15. Maybe the owner of the club is being saddled with additional environmental restrictions, or unreasonable requirements. I can speak from experience that we have to make a constant presents at certain city counsel meetings to preserve successful business, and what Otis's said.
  16. 6 balls: don't sweat it. We've all experienced those kinds of regrets.
  17. As winter, if you like the triumph, which I do, trade in your 2011 for a 2012. That will give you a noticeable upgrade in speed and width. I gave my 2012 to my wife when I got my s2, and she noticed the same thing from her 2011. As other people have said, pull out wider, pull harder, and work on getting real aggressive across the wake. Handle low, chest up, ribs through the arms, and pull the m.o.f. Pillion out of the boat.
  18. Ricardo, thanks for the great post question. This would also be one of my questions, and thanks everyone for your advise.
  19. Pt mike, I hope he doesn't sit down on your hatch cover before he slides in.
  20. I did the same thing as danE with a hack saw. Good way to get your rear foot closer up to the front. File around the fresh cut to knock down the sharp edges.
  21. Jody, that was a fantastic video of Esther williams. We really enjoyed watching it. We will show it to our ski buddy, who is a retired ballet instructor, and recreational swiveller.
  22. I watch the boat going through the 55's, and then make my pull out, and then I hope that I am lucky enough to get the right line. I am not real consistent yet, which I am working on.
