  1. I have used the wiley's standard wrap with rtp for over 20 years, and switched to the double pro wraps about 5 years ago, and I have been very happy with them. One thing though, you have to use lots of dawn soap with them. I was at a club course function over a month ago, was on an unfamiliar "docking" boat with a low swim platform, water sloshing up, and low quality soap. It was my turn, I forced my feet in, and broke 2 chips off my rear foot. I had the chips removed, and I will be skiing again in about a month. So, protect yourself, analise every situation, don't rely on anybody else, and bring your own dawn soap with you. To be Fair, this can happen with any rubber binding system. May I respectfully ask anybody what they think of the new ho attack bindings? Thank you.
  2. We have the 02 s/n with the 330 ex cal. I didn't realize it was that easy for the real zo conversion. Thanks.
  3. Spartan, the lifts may not be on their website, but they have them in their shop in back where they build the bindings. The main technician's name I think is Robert. He speaks with a German accent. Call wilys, and ask for Darren, the owner. My lifts are yellow closed cell foam.
  4. I think she would love the new triumph, 65" at her weight. That would be the best ski to get her through the regulation course.
  5. Has anyone switched fron wilys doubles to ho attack doubles? Pros, cons, performance, safety, comparison? Thanks.
  6. What ntq206 said about wide pull out, IMO. Also, my ski buddy has always said "chest up", and in the last 6 months, we figured out to add "ribs through the arms". This has helped me.
  7. Before you ditch your rear binding you might want to try inserting a generous, closed cell heel lift wedge. Wilys has them in two thicknesses. Go for the thick.
  8. Thank you Richard. The foot doctor took 2 bone chips out of my foot about 3 weeks ago. Long story, but I was in a hurry to get into my boots during a gathering on our club course, and I did not use enough sope and forced my foot into my bindings. This stressed my bone, and broke 2 chips off my rear foot. I should be good to go in a month or so. My stupid mistake. You keep learning in life. Good luck with this Saturday!
  9. Than: nice skiing. Great interior color combo on your s/n. I have a 02 blue & white.
  10. I think the 2005 is still the tsc2 hull, but with out looking up comps., using my claims judgement background, & taking a stab at it, depending on condition, I would say around 23,000.
  11. Tjackson: it's no secret that I am very high on the new triumph. Rather than sounding repeatitive, check out the "athletic big guy" thread posted a few days ago.
  12. Maybe that efficient energy is why some of my full passes seem kind if easy, very difficult, or missed.
  13. One of my instructors really help me by explaining to not only time your glide and turn to kiss the inside of the bouy, but to also use, and trust your fall, with the little slack that you have, then set your angle, and then go! This will help to excellerate, with edge and angle to be wide and early for the next bouy. Did I explain that right?
  14. Mortyski: your right, I was'nt exactly comparing apples to apples. I did not try the new 71". Good luck, and let us know how it goes.
  15. Yes, I skied the old triumph 71" at 225# a lot for about 4 years, almost all free skiing, but did include some coaching on ski lake lakes, including ski paradise, radar, hilltop, bow lake, Florida, tate, and the portable course on lake stevens. I was only able to get through the novice buoys plus a couple regular buoys. I got frustrated with my progress, and demoed a carbon v, a1, senate, x7, & fusion. one of my mistakes was to only free ski the demos. I ended up purchasing the senate, and later the fusion. They were great for free skiing, but did not make my course skiing any better. I decided to get serious about learning the course, dropped 30#, and paid for course coaching at least 3 days a week, plus still free skied a lot. One of the ski lakes is an ho dealer, and the coach said I would do well on the new 69" triumph, so I went down to wilys the next day and bought one. I immediately loved it's high performance ( to me), and especially the ability to ski down to around 25 mph in the course, which the other high performance skis could not do for me. I then went to friends in Florida, and only skied the course every day. By day 3, I made my first full pass, and I am continuing to make consistent progress here at home on the new triumph. I think the new triumph is a totally different ski than the old one. I guess I am a slow learner. Sorry about the long post.
  16. I took a hack saw to the front of my rear plate to get my rear foot one hole closer to my front. I filed the cut round and smooth.
  17. I believe that J.B. talked about canting with nickels in a recent thread.
  18. I will ask him for his autograph on my triumph.
  19. Judge a stud skier like s.s. on a photo? Are you kidding? He is one of the most high end, graceful skiers I have seen.
  20. Btw, retired insurance claims 23 years,W.S.U. coug grad., enjoy skiing, motorcycling, lap swimming, and asking Lucky Low about his goats.
  21. What itchtoski said about the new improved triumph. My wife and I have owned 4 triumphs in the last 5 years. The old generation 67",& 69" for her, the old generation 71" for me when I weighed 225, and the new 69" for me now at 195. I would recommend the new 71" for you. It is a lot higher performance than the old triumph, and just as forgiving. It skis great in the course, and out. You won't be disappointed. It really does have syndicate and coex technology built into it. Google Marcus brown, new ho triumph promo trailer. It's true.
  22. Ski: 69" triumph Bindings: double wilys Rope: master line .88 Bag: ho Vest: straight line Longy: oneal heat Heater: eagle tank Gloves: accurate Boat: 02 s/n
  23. Ted boysen, 55 years young. I grew up on Bow Lake. Not the skiing lake, but the Bow Lake next to the Sea Tac airport. My father processed peat moss into top soil. I caught lots of catfish from my row boat. I started waterskiing at 10, and never really learned correctly. My wife and I live on Lake Stevens near Everett, Wash. We started waterskiing more often about 5 years ago, and started taking more lessons just this year. I just made it through the course about 6 weeks ago, I am still taking lessons at Bow Lake (the ski lake), and I just signed up for Hilltop lake. I enjoy reading the information from skiers on Ball of Spray. Thanks Horten, and everyone.
  24. I went to friends in winterhavan over a month ago for course boot camp. No free skiing. Course owners kept yelling, Ted, pull the m.o.f. Pilon out of the boat! In 4 days I made the course.
