  1. @Ed_Johnson i tried to go look at that lake, it is really back in the woods, easier to reach with a float-plane...
  2. My seat to watch OW slalom...
  3. @Andre obviously some shapes, materials or coverage are safer than others. I make version that cover further down also. However some skiers are concerned about weight or wind drag or... I make a lot versions to accommodate skiers needs, they can decide what works best for them. @NameUnavailable most skiers are not as skilled as those skiing at Swiss and should not make decisions based on what those skiers use for safety equipment.
  4. FYI there is another home for sale at Santa Rosa Beach and it is on the water facing lake 3.
  5. I make a variety of handle guards for different shapes and handles. Stiffer material and durable. Mobsystemrelease.com
  6. Sorry @Kelvin @oldjeep Texas is great but not the same. Santa Rosa Beach and 30A is an awesome resort, beach vacation area. And you are going to pay to have a part of that.
  7. @BraceMaker we have talked several times about building boots for the MOB system. It is a rather expensive option with the current method of custom molding. If we could come up with a more easily built solution, where it did not require custom molding and uses an Intuition liner, that would be great. @Brewski ? Maybe time to talk again...
  8. @ScottScott @LeonL on the other hand, if you are a water skier and like having a place to water ski while spending time at the world’s best beaches, this is the place. Cory does accommodate skiers who are there on a regular basis. He provides the boats and maintains the lakes/courses. If you buy a house that is on a golf course, you don’t get to use the golf course and country club without paying for membership and use fees. If during development I had not insisted that the lakes be a separate piece of property and not controlled by homeowners, there likely would not be any water skiing on the lakes. There are plenty of lakes in the area, these are the only ones you can water ski on. When the original developers went bankrupt, Cory was able to negotiate with the bank to buy the lakes. It is a great facility and Cory has kept it alive for all of us to have access to. Would I buy there, absolutely! Are the prices there outrageously high, absolutely! Try buying anything else in the area, it is expensive. The house that is for sale would make a great vacation cottage. And you are neighbors with some of the best water skiers in the world!
  9. @dvskier @RAWSki Cory owns all three lakes, homeowners have no access or rights to any of the lakes. Yes you can ski through Cory’s ski school. The area is awesome and the beaches are great. That home is not lake front, across the street. The price is a little high for that size home, but everything down there is expensive. I would love to have a place down there. I will be there next week to work the Masters LCQ tournament.
  10. @6balls as part of our dock renovation project on the public lake site, I built a platform to go near water level. Works great for beginner kids to start from also. @RAWSki I do like the woven mat material, and it is heavy so stays in place.
  11. @ALPJr should be a great event, if we can get them to actually commit to putting the facilities in place. So far we have access to a lake, which is awesome. Mike Hazelwood set a world jump record on the lake, we held the ‘86 Southern Regionals on the lake and a Disabled Nationals. I will be meeting with World Games and IWWF again this month to work on securing the needed equipment. Hopefully we can establish an awesome site that will support and promote the sport for years to come!
  12. @BraceMaker here is an HO Xmax direct connect boot converted to fit the MOB release system.
  13. @mike_mapple I agree no need to make it mandatory. I appreciate any referrals, but I can also make them available for your shop to sell.
  14. @mike_mapple I get your reasoning there, but many skiers, less skilled than your dad, will get hung up in the bridle before the handle ever hits the water. Of course it is all just an added degree of safety, as the any sport can be dangerous. I could not imagine the devastation of my kids or grandkids ever getting caught up in the bridal. Always a personal choice, but a little added peace of mind.
  15. Start your season off safely, get your handle guard and get one for everyone you care about.
  16. @BraceMaker I can make the plates you need and make a mounting plate that uses the direct connect screws.
  17. If the drone that @Laz mentions has that good of video output, perhaps you could just set the drone in the boat for boat video. But the one drone probably cost more than all my analog video cameras and coax cables. I am still using the old style cameras and coax. It seems to be the most reliable and inexpensive way to go. But I would love to go to a local WiFi network and digital cameras. I just haven’t tried to figure it all out...
  18. @OscawanaSkier if you want a boot that sits flat, use the Radar Carbitex or the Pulse. Both are great boots and you will still feel the hardshell connection. They are the only boots specifically designed for slalom skiing and have the desired features @skialex mentioned. You must eliminate the bungee laces so that the Mob release is the only way to release. I did get to see @Gloersen ’s Goode boot and like the new features, the one I have is an older version. But also a great choice. While the HO boot is loved by a lot of skiers, it does not sit flat at all, and requires the use of the cradle that HO provides. The boot itself has a very large rocker built into it. But I have mounted a few for skiers using the cradle on a specifically designed MOB boot plate. The Roxa boot you have is the forerunner to the Reflex Supershell. That boot is still a great choice and you can flatten the bottom somewhat if desired. It is still one of my favorites and I still use the original one I have. Check for closeouts on the older Supershell boots, the shell itself is still the same.
  19. @lpskier JJ is headed your way this week with one I just made for him... http://www.mobsystemrelease.com/new-products/surepath-antenna-mount
  20. Anyone needing an antenna mount for their Sure Path, I have them available now...
  21. @Wish I can cut out G10 plates for you using 1/8” material with all the mounting slots. I can make all kinds of different binding plates.
  22. @MichaelWiebe I just skied at McCormick’s fall tournament, great conditions and fun event. Definitely a ski site to visit when in Florida.
  23. @skibrain @BigGerald3 I took my first ride on my new Ion S today. I am moving from an EVO, so the ski felt very comfortable to me. The Ion performed as advertised, it turned easier and accelerated faster across course. I will need a few more rides to get it dialed in, but started with basically factory settings except for shallower, and bindings back 1/8”.
