  1. @Hallpass cut it out, it is useless. I have cut them out of all my hardshell boot for years. Also, put the liner in the shell first, then your foot. It saves wear and tear on the liner,
  2. @vtmecheng is correct, the new mob plate does not require any tape or interlock if you have the standard trick ski inserts in your ski. D3 is now putting the additional inserts up front that accommodate longer plates in some of their skis. As @BraceMaker said, if the slalom ski manufacturers would include either standard set of inserts it would help many skiers with the use of their preferred release system. BTW, I can easily mount Joel’s boot on the mob release system if he wanted it...
  3. @Horton i have run tournaments for over forty years, including regional and national championships. You will not really make money on running the tournament, you make money on selling sponsorship. The money made on the tournament would barely be worth the labor effort for a homeowners group. Strong sponsorship can make it worthwhile but someone has to sell the event to sponsors.
  4. @jercrane Monica Seal is not only a PT she is a very accomplished skier.
  5. @Not_The_Pug that is a really bad idea, using a rope release will not prevent a broke leg or foot.
  6. My 5yo grandson in his MOB release and his $5 used skate boot. You can find suitable skate boots at the thrift store if you are on a budget.
  7. My 5yo grandson with his MOB release...
  8. @jercrane sorry to hear of your misfortune, definitely work hard on the rehab and you’ll be back.
  9. @Horton my daughter prefers a liner with a stiffer tongue and thicker. Intuition make several different liner styles, or try your Radar liner, it has a stiffer tongue.
  10. @jercrane at the recent RC tournament at Lymanland a large number of junior skiers were using the MOB release. Easier to find the best fitting boot for growing feet. And safer for learning side slides and surface turns since it will release sideways. It takes away a lot of those sudden slap down falls! Plus it is real easy to share a ski since you can use multiple size boots with the same release setup. If you want something used contact me. I have several systems previously used by team members that I would love to get juniors on. Plus you can find used hardshell boots(in-line skates) at thrift stores or used sporting goods stores that will work on the MOB release. My kids grew up using used skate boots and this type release. My daughter tricks near 4000 points.

  12. @Garn I can make Kelly a new plate if you send me the old one for a pattern.
  13. @DavidT you can usually find some clinics held with pro coaches from time to time, maybe not this summer. There is still a ski club/group skiing at Logan Martin Lake by the dam. My daughter and I ski on Lay Lake, and keep up a slalom course there. The people at Lake Martin Marine can help you on that lake, there are slalom courses there also. If you want to ski with us some time, email or call me. My daughter and I are both very high level coaches.
  14. After years of me telling my daughter that using a double high wrap rubber rear boot, even though it fit loose, that she was at risk, she broke her foot in a sudden otf fall at Nationals last year. She tried all the options for a rear boot and went back with a similar rubber boot with a different lower wrap configuration that will allow her foot to release in that otf type fall. I strongly recommend the low cut r style rear boot or the HRT to be used with a releasable front boot if you cannot adapt to a RTP.
  15. @BlueSki to use the vector boot as the rear boot with a releasable front, remove the upper laces... @BraceMaker I could not ever put my foot back into the HRT after getting up. I have an older version and I put stretchy laces on it.
  16. @Shakeski since you are already running the upper laces loose, just remove them completely. You will get the same general feel as the R style boot. Too much influence from your back leg can be detrimental to your off side turns. The lower cut r style boot helps eliminate that. I cut mine even lower, below my ankle. You can feel better connected with a thinner foot bed, you can even cut the bottom out of the liner, which I have tried. But at some point comfort can also have a bearing.
  17. @Jakegsxr11 I have a narrow foot also and find that the Radar boots are too wide in the toe for my foot. Check out the Connelly Sync boot for a more narrow fit.
  18. @Hoodcanal454 the Pro Comp was a little bigger than the original Ski Brendella Shortline boat. Nice boat. I was out of the Brendella business by ‘95 so I don’t know about the stringers.
  19. @H2Oski17 is that public water? Looks nice, we ski on public water in Alabama. I get to Charleston every so often and usually drop by Trophy to ski. @DavidN has the right idea.
  20. @Jetsetr I am one of those that loves old style boats, though not necessarily to ski behind. I sold a lot of Brendella in the Southeast when they were popular. They are great little ski boats. I have also done some restoration on a couple of them. Here is one of the resin products to use for stringer repair:
  21. Those skis were 82-84 maybe, the first Mach 1 was not the grey one, it was black with red and yellow...
  22. @PeterAK if you cannot grab the front of your ski and pull your foot out, you will not release in some falls that could lead to injury. Do not replace bungee laces with hard laces unless you put the boot on a MOB release.
  23. @Snape I can easily cut a plate with holes wherever you need them. I use 1/8” G10 material. I just need a pattern or cad drawing.
  24. @SpartanSki why don’t you post a picture of the racks, then I can tell you whether or not they will fit.
  25. Just something to keep me busy during these crazy times...
