  1. @Zman the Vapor boot works great on the MOB system, tighten as much as you want. @OldboyII as @ScottScott said the MOB system releases from the rear in an otf fall.
  2. @owennibley @lpskier one of the big advantages of the MOB system is that you can use your same boot or one that fits your style. It is often the boot that is so different and not the release system. However there is also a different feel to how each system attaches the boot to the ski. The MOB release will feel more like the Fogman or Powershell than the Reflex release. And moving from a rubber boot to any hardshell will require patience and re-learning your balance on the ski. Adding that to changing your rear foot boot just complicates matters. I tried a rtp and various rear boot setups. Absolutely could not do the rtp. The Radar HRT worked well but I ended up using the half boot hardshell. All those were tried using the same front boot I was accustomed to using. If you can run the course easier in the radar boot, it can be used on the MOB system. Same with the Fogman boot.
  3. @EmacSki4 you can easily mount those boots on the MOB release system and never need interlock tape again. Then you can also mount the system on any standard screw insert pattern without buying more tape.
  4. @DaveD I relaced my HRT with bungee laces and like @ScottScott only used the top three loops. Once I set the desired tension I haven’t changed it, giving me the same feel every time. Works great with my front MOB release system.
  5. @Deanoski our SN 351 efi runs great so hate to repower, but pp is so different from zo. Heard the new zo rev s + settings are closer to pp, haven’t tried it yet. A change to SG for us is way less $ if it gets closer to zo s.
  6. @Steven_Haines I am still loving my 2018 67” EVO, boots at 29.875, 6.935, 2.425, .750, 7 degree wing. Not far off of factory for long and shallow.
  7. @Deanoski what boat/motor? I was thinking about going to that system, but not everyone seems to think much of it. But I would have to repower the boat to go ZO.
  8. @Iski61 the FM system uses a Voile snow ski release that is no longer in production. I used double hardshell boots on my system for over 20 years and never had only one foot release. Once the pressure needed to release is exceeded they both come off. I have a device in preproduction that I have tested to force release of both boots, but I have never seen the need to produce it. I switched to a rear half boot a couple of years ago and I really like that setup. Also I do not take my boots off in the water. I pull the release lever and remove the boot from the ski. Then take my boot off in the boat or on the dock.
  9. @Iski61 Twisting falls are released by the MOB system design. The MOB system also accommodates a wide assortment of boot designs, this makes it easier to find a comfortable boot for your needs. Email or call me and we can figure out what might work best for you. FYI, I am riding a D3 EVO, if you are stuffing the front of the ski, I might be able to help you with that also.
  10. @Inboardfan Skialex and Skibug have the right idea. Use a lock nut to lock the screw into the insert. Then use your screw driver to run the insert into the hole you have drilled. The hole must be proper sized for the insert and into a material that will hold the insert in place.
  11. @bigtallweed I have a multi line display that did the same thing. I could not find a 3.5" display last I looked, hard to come by...
  12. @ShaunT @skibug I have L & R new USD shells, 43-44. I have some cuffs also. Call or email me.
  13. You have to measure ankle to ankle, 11.5” - 13” is a good average range.
  14. @OscawanaSkier the grip tape to use is 3M Safety Walk, can be found on Amazon in various sizes. I also use this grip tape inside my hardshell boots to control movement of the liner. I use a very tight fitting liner to control movement of my foot. I tried the bottomless liner but did not like the rough feel on my skin, but studies show that barefoot gives the best feel for balance.
  15. @lpskier I agree with the mods that @Ed_Johnson suggested for the Supershell, except for the lightening holes. I don’t think weight under your foot has any significant effect. The Supershell with those mods is likely the best boot available. I have been using that boot for five years now and I experimented with these mods before many were using the boot. My question is did you change to the Reflex release system or put it on your Fogman system? The Reflex system dynamics is completely different than your Fogman system. I never could run a pass on the Reflex system because of the dramatic difference in the dynamics from my MOB system. The boot was not the problem. As to the different types of Reflex boots, or other brand of boots, any one of them will work. Each has its own characteristics and certain modifications will make each work for any skier, any event.
  16. @kgzskier2 we used 1/8” or 3/16”. Great Dane truck trailer company uses the material in rolls to make trailers.
  17. @ScottScott I made a similar change to my HRT, but used a bungee lace. Once I had the tightness that I wanted I left it set that way and just take my foot in and out.
  18. @Golson after many years in double hardshell boots I switched to a very low cut rear half boot. I quickly found exactly what Adam described to be true. All my different versions of rear boot are very low cut and flexible.
  19. Hdpe does not hold up well in the sun, UV makes it brittle over time. I too think it would gouge easily. You can buy FRP(fiberglass reinforced plastic) in rolls(60'x8.5'), it can be glued to a PT plywood base, and that material works.
  20. @Rednucleus the short answer is that the rear boot can adversely affect your stance on the ski, resulting in an inability to get your center of mass over your front foot. Most current ski designs require more front foot pressure and less rear leg input to maximize performance.
  21. @DSP I cut and stitched that one because I wanted it cut very short.
  22. My three rear plates, Radar HRT on the right. Half boot hardshell, half boot semi hard and HRT. The semi hard and HRT have bungee laces. All three work equally well for me. I am most comfortable with buckles instead of laces, personal preference. But after using double boots forever, I changed and agree, I ski better without the full rear boot. I use a very low cut liner in the two shells to free up my rear ankle movement.
  23. I am trying to cut back, but still ten or more... I’m an addict...
  24. @mwfillmore does the fencing stretch any? Might work if not.
  25. If your water only varies slightly you can use plastic chain between the sub buoy and the rubber tubing to make adjustments. The chain floats and allows inch by inch adjustments. Use yellow chain for visibility. If the water varies widely, you need a bigger adjustment method below the sub.
