  1. Agreed, maybe a shower and shave too?
  2. @Horton........with all due respect...........ALCOHOL!!!!!! At least as important as coffee in my humble opinion. That is all for now.
  3. I'm on a ship in the Caribbean right now, no masks, a few questions regarding recent travel and health during boarding but that's it. We're having a blast and honestly not worried,
  4. I kind of think anyone with even a remote chance of operating a boat in February isn't qualified to discuss "winter". God I'm bored.
  5. @rico, at "home" I ski on a natural pond, pretty small but by no means a ditch. The first time I skied at lapoints i couldn't get myself to pull out wide enough for my gates, it took me a couple sets to realize that it was the shoreline coming into my peripheral vision that was screwing me up. It's little stuff that isn't always obvious right away.
  6. A bottle of your favorite scotch parked on the new bar? Just sayin,
  7. Build a small outdoor bar at your boathouse?
  8. The funny looking cutout sits above the hull drain. They work quite well to keep stored stuff off the very bottom of the bilge,
  9. If cost is one of the factors and you don't necessarily need coaching lapoints is probably the best bang for your buck.
  10. McCormick's ski school has rv hook ups, just east of Tampa. Multiple ski school's in central Florida and Orlando and all kinds of campgounds.
  11. The malibu we traded last fall I had rigged the heater so that the driver could put ALL the heat at his or her feet through 2 three inch tubes, just sit down with a heavy dry towel from waist down and tuck the tubes in with your feet, so comfy.
  12. I'm curious to hear what qualifies as cold in degrees fahrenheit to a californian
  13. Dorman makes 12 volt aftermarket automotive seat heater kits, they actually work quite well.
  14. Another option might be an aftermarket heated seat kit, no plumbing involved, just wiring and staples.
  15. Yep, did exactly that, once in early spring and it was quiet for a while, late in the season it started again and tightening didn't help. It's stuffed away for winter right now, I'll fool with it in the spring, was just wondering if I'm missing something.
  16. Does anyone hear the pylon creaking? Anyone have suggestions for a fix? Our prostar does the same thing and it drives my wife (my primary driver) nuts. I've checked every nut and bolt I can see and no change,
  17. I just pulled a 6 liter out of a silverado at work, the left side drain is a 17mm, the other side is 8mm and I imagine the starter has to come out, to be honest i'd be tempted to leave that side alone.
  18. Maybe water got into the fan motor and killed it? You'll have to take it apart and see.
  19. A buddy of mine had me take his intake off once hunting for that stupid red straw......never did find it and the motor ran fine the following season, evidently the valve springs chewed it up no problem?
  20. Way back in the day the first call was usually discount inboard marine. skidim.com
  21. I owned a Malibu Tantrum for a number of years, same hull as the Sportster. @DavidN is right, it was almost useless in "big" water, really prone to stuffing the bow, really rough ride whenever it was choppy. Skied really well, great on gas, light, but when it was busy it stayed on the hoist.

    PCM 6.0 oil

@DW I've always suspected this has more to do with the fact that most marine engines run constantly at higher rpm's. The average car these days runs down the highway at 1000 rpm, boats often live at 3-4000 rpm.
  23. We've had a rough year, badly flooded 2nd time in 3 years and likely will be flooded next year, boat went on the hoist the last day of july instead of mid april. Last night my wife got home kinda late, didn't look great, kinda windy but it's almost 80, "let's go see what the back course looks like". We skied, wasn't great but screw it, drop the speed like a half a mph and just ski.......any night skiing with my wife?? Perfect.
