  1. Yeah my holes show up on my down hand, right hand below the pinky and ring finger, same on every pair of gloves, kevlar last longer but much harder on my hands, if the legends lasted just a touch longer i would have stayed with them.
  2. I tried a pair this year, my go to glove the last few years is the 41 tail, the legend gloves were about the same grip and a little easier on my palms but i trashed them within a month or so, not as durable as the kevlar. In all fairness my death grip style is really hard on gloves,
  3. So the cover on my 18 prostar holds up ok when it rains but when it really monsoons it lets a ton of water through, is 303 the best treatment to tighten it up a little?
  4. So serious long shot but here goes, generally the reason an air leak on the suction side will cause overheating is because an air pocket behind the thermostat won't open it, how many hours are on this thing? Any chance it's popped a head gasket and is building a pocket of combustion gas in the coolant passage? With an open cooling system it will be hard to know for sure. Any misfire codes? Slight sputter at start up? Maybe pull all the plugs and see if one looks "washed"? Like i said a long shot but none of the usual stuff has fixed it.
  5. We once rented a "subcompact sedan", turned out to be a 4 door pontiac sunfire........the rental company for some reason had removed the release gizmo to fold down the back seat.........the ski fits in the back seat but not very easily. Sport tubes usually have to be emptied and condensed to fit in most any car is my experience.
  6. Legend has it once upon a time scuba divers were dispatched in butterfly lake in search of one of the early warped skis, oopsy.
  7. I actually rigged up a slightly redneck setup to carry my handle and rope and shock tube all together for that very reason.
  8. My opinion, the width should stay the same, just outside the 2-4-6 bouy line, the timing changes as you go up the rope, takes practice.
  9. Last week i had a vaca on keuka lake in the finger lakes in western ny, lake had gone up 14 inches the week before, idle within 500 ft of shore was the rule with multiple warnings about debris, like trees, and docks and whatnot floating about. At least it kept the surf boats away but still.....
  10. @cacman , try a ball joint press, careful not to deform the skinny end, if that fails the red speed wrench is next, followed by paint touch up??
  11. @SlalomSteve , it used to be called the Carbon Pro
  12. I had one set of the clucth gloves, best ever, i really think they were sold for 1 season.
  13. So way back in the day there were a zillion six and 8 cylinder gm's around that ran that style cap, it was always a way better bet to spend the money on the gm cap, plenty of trucks towed in that had quit first time it got wet with a cheap aftermarket cap.
  14. Like how in the world did you pop a pretty bullet proof motor? It happens but usually takes something a little neglect-ish.
  15. I have no clue if that's 2 1/4 but it has to get some sort of title!?!?
  16. Tantrum is same hull as sportster but was only made as a closed bow, sportster lx and response lx were the playpen, response lxi and sunsetter were the hallway open bow.
  17. I may be crazy but my opinion is something with the dual loc has changed, for a long time i used 4 full strips of the 250 clear and no problems, several years back i re-taped a plate and it would release on the platform as i bent forward to buckle in. It's like the tape to tape bond is not nearly as strong as it was like 10-ish years back. Now I pretty much cover the plate and ski, looks scary but still lets loose in a hard crash..........which fortunately is rare......he says while knocking on his own skull.
  18. Longshot but what does eng temp read? Old days they would go bad and drive mixture mad rich.
  19. My wife had it done 20 years ago, she did it during our off season so didn't ski for several months afterwards. No regrets at all,
  20. See that's why every forum needs a historian. Probably a much softer troll too??, but the times are slow.
  21. I never knew zero off made fish finders,
  22. I've owned 2 previous ski boats, both were traded away out of state, it's silly but for some reason I'm really curious about the Malibu Tantrum, it was cool, (it was downright freezing in cold weather). It was the only "real" ski boat we could afford way back then but we got a ton of use out of it,
  23. We just racked the boat for the night, the bilge pump does indeed have power with the master shut off,
