  1. So I'm wondering about this for a couple reasons, our current boat is an 18 prostar, I do turn the switch off mostly because I have heard that the draw is pretty high and right now it's on a hoist. The stereo will run key off switch on but i havent tried the bilge yet. This coming winter the boat is going to be slipped in Florida, I would prefer to leave the bilge powered but doubt it will ever sit longer than a few days. I still find it hard to believe they would build it that way, the acceptable draw on a car is 50 milliamps which is much higher than it was years back but would still take a month or so to kill a good battery. Anyone ever measured it?
  2. So stupid question, what if the boat is slipped/floating, am I a lunatic because I would prefer the bilge pump has power? The ecm staying energized sounds like a bit of a stupid idea?
  3. Yeah, one of my ski partners did that once and cracked some ribs........
  4. One of my ski partners had the front toe bar work itself loose over time and the pre release crash wasn't pretty, there's plenty of hardware that really can't be checked with the shells locked in, at least remove once in a while and check everything?
  5. Seneca lake is huge, not sure how many skiers you'll find, it's a beautiful area, lots of winery's, a bunch of brewery's have popped up lately, the gorge is always worth the hike,
  6. It's been a while but there should be an exception for sports equipment, last time i flew southwest my sport tube was a free bag.
  7. My ribs really hurt now......does he do a bit on golf too???
  8. @lpskier that's probably where my ski works the best but if I'm being honest my body is a lot happier at 85 or so. Right now it's 55 which sucks for everything but beats the heck out of shoveling snow!!
  9. Is anyone else wondering why @bananaron hasn't grabbed this??
  10. Once was riding shotgun in a buddies m/c and i glance over to the driver and he had a really serious oh shite look on his face, and he's trying to tuck his head like a turtle. Wham goes a swan off the windshield, i kinda think the skier ran the pass but can't remember for sure.
  11. Turtle wax spray works as well on a boat as any other high end product in my experience, our pond water is pretty high mineral content, wind will splash water all over one side and the hard water spots are ongoing. I gave up on collinite and others.
  12. To be honest that looks lile an awful lot of screwing around to gain a couple feet or so?? Now needs 2 tongue jacks and maybe had to move the wiring and brake line??
  13. No idea, mime is an 18, the first year i had it it started creaking and I've been snugging the hardware once a year ever since.
  14. I believe they're 19mm or 3/4 inch, all 4 are double nuts locked together, loosen the outer ones and tighten the inner ones with an open end wrench then re tighten the outer, mine still creaks a little when a bigger skier is back there tho.
  15. Mine is still tucked away but i had this issue, my nephew stepped on it, i think i removed the spacer that's behind the handle and the lever sits further on the shaft???? I may be able to get a peak at it tmrw evening.
  16. A stokes would be a little more durable as a "work" suit than a camaro but still a little pricey for that imho, I have an older scuba spring suit for dock and hoist work,
  17. I've never had any kind of a "stop", what I've always done was find some sort of visual reference, the current boat it's the gas cap being aligned with the rear crossbar of the lift cradle. Our place we commonly deal with low water in the fall so I usually run the bunks just low enough to allow the skegs to clear the rear crossbar but the prop stays behind that bar, that also usually centers the motor in the cradle. The response hull is super easy to set up bunks, the rear spacing just outside a set of chines and i think slightly narrower at the front, centers itself as you lift it. The trailer bunks are a good starting point.
  18. I have a prostar with the decadence mats, everything pretty much rinses though the mat and onto the floor below. My routine is to fold the mat back and just mop the floor once a month or so. I've been really happy with it.
  19. Guilty as charged, kind of a knee jerk thing, any way you can go back and restore all the comments??
  20. I'm curious, is it the factory cover? Mine needs no side straps to keep it in place, the ratchet straps at the back are enough.
  21. Inner tubes, barrels, air mattress, air bed, row boat, our place people usually skirt the shore line to stay in shallow water,
  22. Any chance you can post a picture?
