Lifting back foot heel. Pros and Cons

I just got back for a full week of coaching and skiing in Italy B)

In the end I realize that I am lifting my back foot heel a bit.

It seems like I do it at the pull out but I do not know if I do it through out the course.

I do not know why I do it or if it is a positive or negative thing?!?

Any thoughts?

The consensus seems to be that it's useful, but it's more of an advanced concept.

If you're doing it, that's fine and it might even be helping you get forward a bit on the ski. However, it's probably not something that's incredibly important from a functional perspective until the shorter line lengths. This is because other things such as stack and line control are far more important.

after the apex and on your way to the wakes I believe you want both Heels firmly planted unless you are a very advanced skier.

if you lift your heel approaching the ball and this does not bring your hips back it is a good thing. but again I think this is an advanced move
