Baller oneski Posted December 24, 2016 Baller Posted December 24, 2016 As I sit back and get ready for the holidays I started reflecting on this past ski year. It was a damn good year for me. I came back from a serious neck injury I suffered a year and a half ago that kept me off the water for almost one full year. I finally started back this past May and had no idea if I would be able to ski without reinjuing my neck. I took it slow for months. Running 28' off more times than I can count. I started skiing better and feeling stronger, which meant it was time to shorten the rope. By the end of the summer I had skied in 3 tournaments and was just one buoy off my PB. Not bad considering my injury and start. I can't wait to start pushing next year and trying to pick up one, maybe two, or even three buoys at 38'. Curious to hear other Ballers goals for nex year? If I have a written down goal I'll work hard in the gym and on the water to accomplish it.
Baller_ Wish Posted December 24, 2016 Baller_ Posted December 24, 2016 What..? Wait..we haven't even gotten past the Christmas list of what ski gear we asked for or what Santa brought us or who skied/ing on Christmas Day (my plan). It's like Christmas decorations at Walmart...in October. I'll post closer to the new year ;)
Baller skidawg Posted December 24, 2016 Baller Posted December 24, 2016 Ride my mountain bike way more
Baller 6balls Posted December 24, 2016 Baller Posted December 24, 2016 Big Hairy Audacious Goal(BHAG)...someone's reading "Good To Great" :) A BHAG should relate to one's "hedgehog concept", their singular focus and what fits within what they are (or could be) in business...or in this case, their recreation. My BHAG is better work/life/self balance; slow the pace of my world and better enjoy what I do and the people involved.
Baller thager Posted December 24, 2016 Baller Posted December 24, 2016 @skidawg Lot of mountains down there in LA?
Administrators Horton Posted December 24, 2016 Administrators Posted December 24, 2016 My goal is to return to my old ways and pick on @thager relentlessly Goode ★ KD Skis ★ MasterCraft ★ PerfSki ★ Radar ★ Reflex ★ S Lines ★ Stokes ★ Baller Video Coaching System ★ Wake Lending Become a Supporting Member or make a One-time Donation
Baller bishop8950 Posted December 24, 2016 Baller Posted December 24, 2016 Get my new training partner through 38 in a tournament. Harry because his best is mid 35 (when he skis part time). If he commits big time I think it can be done.
Baller thager Posted December 24, 2016 Baller Posted December 24, 2016 @Horton You are succeeding already! My goal is to get through -35 and ski in a BOS tournament while pestering the crap out of you!!!!!!
Baller swc5150 Posted December 24, 2016 Baller Posted December 24, 2016 Spend under $60k on a new boat. Almost a pipe dream these days
Baller Bill22 Posted December 24, 2016 Baller Posted December 24, 2016 I just singed up for kick boxing to get in shape, my BHAG is to actually go more than 3 times.
Baller_ Bruce_Butterfield Posted December 24, 2016 Baller_ Posted December 24, 2016 @thager, you have to think of the "mountains" in LA in the same context they think of wind there. Anything over 5mph is a blowout, so you can imagine what passes for a mountain. If it was easy, they would call it Wakeboarding
Administrators Horton Posted December 24, 2016 Administrators Posted December 24, 2016 My goals of 2017? Keep doing this for a living. Get Buford Danger up on skis behind a boat. More shots at 39. Baller oneski Posted December 24, 2016 Author Baller Posted December 24, 2016 OB, you have my phone number. Give me a jingle anytime you need a ski partner in ATL or WPB.
Baller Fam-man Posted December 24, 2016 Baller Posted December 24, 2016 1) progress to 15 off @ 34 2) get my 9 year old consistent deep water start on long line. Get my 6 year old to drop a ski. Get my 4 year old skiing on the boom. 3) ski 2 times per week all season. (May to sept) #2 is the stretch goal as it hinge on their desires not mine.
Baller Razorskier1 Posted December 24, 2016 Baller Posted December 24, 2016 Get my beard as big as Will Asher's!
Baller_ Wish Posted December 24, 2016 Baller_ Posted December 24, 2016 @Razorskier1 = obsessions with Asher beard.
Baller ski6jones Posted December 24, 2016 Baller Posted December 24, 2016 Get my tournament average over 100.

spicoli Posted December 25, 2016 Posted December 25, 2016 Get the beard like santa .and hopefully get my handle from usgear I thought if I ordered it in august I would have it for Christmas but maybe next christmas.
Baller thager Posted December 25, 2016 Baller Posted December 25, 2016 @Horton You do know that getting Buford Danger up on skis and more shots at 39 are mutually exclusive right?
Baller ALPJr Posted December 25, 2016 Baller Posted December 25, 2016 Best ski fitness of my life, get a few lessons from a pro, make my first 4 passes super smooth and consistent, and get back into a few tournaments.
Baller A_B Posted December 25, 2016 Baller Posted December 25, 2016 @Razorskier1 maybe a new BOS emoji?

Gold Member Than_Bogan Posted December 25, 2016 Gold Member Posted December 25, 2016 Woah that is an uncanny resemblance! Merry Christmas all!
Baller jjackkrash Posted December 25, 2016 Baller Posted December 25, 2016 My big goal is to get before spring and and ski again after bicep-tendon rebuild and re-attachment. Also, hopefully, have a new boat in the driveway next week. :)
Baller sunvalleylaw Posted December 26, 2016 Baller Posted December 26, 2016 Over the winter, do lots and lots of core and strengthening to get ready. Along with a lot of good snow skiing. Get my new D3 ski set up. (I plan on contacting D3 to see if I can receive my gift of the new ski as kind of a demo program purchase, (even if I have to ship the ski back to do it) to make sure I have the right flex) and get the fin set up, etc. Get my new(er) boat further set up, with a new prop, etc. Make sure we schedule lots of personal and family ski time. Keep and strengthen a good connection with my friends down at the ski lake to make sure I can get some training and skiing time in there also, and Get a bunch of skiing in.
Baller BCM Posted December 28, 2016 Baller Posted December 28, 2016 Realistic goals - run -35 in practice, jump 120+ in a tournament, trick 1800. Hairy Audacious Goal that might be attainable: Average tournament score beyond -35, jump average >130, trick average >2k. Most important goal: have fun at the lake
Baller_ Wish Posted December 28, 2016 Baller_ Posted December 28, 2016 try to not ride a ski with different settings every couple weeks.
Baller_ lpskier Posted December 28, 2016 Baller_ Posted December 28, 2016 Get a medal at Nationals this summer. Lpskier
Baller BrennanKMN Posted December 28, 2016 Baller Posted December 28, 2016 Get consistent at 22 and 28 off at 36MPH. Ski my first tournament. Put 100+ hours on the boat. Spend exorbitant amounts of money on a new ski.
Baller ForrestGump Posted December 28, 2016 Baller Posted December 28, 2016 1. Qualify for UCI BMX World Championship 2. Ski for first time since December 20th 2015
Baller Razorskier1 Posted December 28, 2016 Baller Posted December 28, 2016 @BrennanKMN -- it is possible that point number 4 on your list can help you with point number 1 on your list. Of course, it's also possible that it just makes you a lot poorer :-)
Baller jimbrake Posted December 28, 2016 Baller Posted December 28, 2016 @bishop8950 - how 'bout you make ME your project?
Baller bishop8950 Posted December 28, 2016 Baller Posted December 28, 2016 @jimbrake sounds good, I love skiing with you! Come on down to Lakeside or the Pond and we can get started. I just picked up a Carbon Pro for the Pond so we are dialed!
Baller jimbrake Posted December 28, 2016 Baller Posted December 28, 2016 @bishop8950 - I'm in. #2017goals; #skiwithbishop; #thepond; #idontcareifitswindy; #carbonpro; #38
Baller swc5150 Posted January 12, 2017 Baller Posted January 12, 2017 Just over a week down in '17, and my goal has successfully been accomplished. Just signed the deal on our new ride:)
Baller jjackkrash Posted January 13, 2017 Baller Posted January 13, 2017 Love, love, love the colors.
Baller richfoster Posted January 15, 2017 Baller Posted January 15, 2017 Hopefully ski like I did in 2015. I'm thankful I stayed healthy,but 16 was a rough.
Baller Obrienslalom Posted January 15, 2017 Baller Posted January 15, 2017 My big goal was accomplished at the end of 2016, and that was buying my first boat! Always skied behind my dad's four winns and sea rays, so really excited to finally own a proper ski boat. Bought a 2006 ski nautique 206. So my goals are: -Improve my technique so I can start tackling the course -Get involved with local ski clubs -Get friends into skiing (or force them to)
Baller_ Wish Posted January 16, 2017 Baller_ Posted January 16, 2017 Run a couple tourny 38s. Try not to change settings every other week.
