@Cooper_Trelawney its actually quite typical for our lake. Its a flood control lake with several hundred acres that feeds the runoff. On average we will flood 3-5 times a year between 3-8 feet high. My boathouse has been completely underwater probably a dozen times in the last 15 years. The worst part is cleaning up the driftwood from each flood, but it goes with the territory.

 

I wouldn't trade it for any other site I've seen.

@Bruce_Butterfield in my experience we have to watch out for all the snakes, balls of fire ants and other nasty critters when the water starts receding. I must say you are resilient to endure flooding that regularly!?
