  1. I think the closest to Ocala would be Jack Travers in Groveland. They offer a variety of packages including a club membership with discounted ski sets w/ or w/o coaching. Check them out @ jacktravers.com
  2. @Horton Would you be able to share the long shallow settings for the 66” KD Platinum? I’d really like to try them. Thanks a lot!
  3. It definitely is a sunsetter on the diamond hull. So a decent slalom boat. However ... Boat looks to me as it took quite the abuse, sat in the water for extended periods and was never properly covered. Just recently well cleaned up to sell it. Obviously. Lots of dings all around, rubrail in the front took a good hit, dash and controls are very faded due to lots of UV exposure, rust on a lot of engine parts, carpet has lots of stains, upholstery looks dull not ripped though, teak platform has not seen any oil in years, underwater gear looks pretty corroded, even with a recent acid clean-up, windshield frame looks horrible, all the storage netting is sagging, so is the rear center floor-piece above the mufflers, trunk looks super dirty, trailer bunks are duct-taped (wtf?), ... I wouldn’t pay half of the asking price for that boat.
  4. @Sivota - So the BOA HRT is finally available on the aluminum plate? That’s great news!
  5. Thought so, thanks @jercrane for the clarification and good luck with the sale!
  6. I liked it a lot. Especially the re-plays of the passes and the different camera angles! Announcing was great, not a bit obnoxious as the usual guy with his golden mic. Anyone else experienced bad juddering? I got a lot of it. Not so much in the morning, but especially as the event went on to the last couple skiers in Men’s Slalom. Good job everyone!
  7. I don’t think the prop will fit a Malibu. Malibu has a 1 1/8 keyed shaft. I’m not sure about the latest models, but Mastercraft had always a splined shaft.
  8. https://www.youtube.com/embed/live_stream?channel=UC6ge-6q6L4Xzq71reRwnpDw Sorry, still can’t do short links on my iPad. The button/drop down is just not there!
  9. I used a roundup battery powered spray wand with great success. Just took off the nozzle and was able to easily extract most of the transmission oil. No mess whatsoever. Something like this:
  10. It definitely sits deeper in da waada. ;) My wife loves her ‘18 GT thanks @The_Krista and of course Bojan. :)
  11. I would buy one. Would be perfect for me! Boat sits on the (ac powered) lift about 23.25 hrs a day and then gets used for two sets. Then back onto the lift. Would miss the v8 sound tho.
  12. Just bought the 2018 model a few weeks ago. Wonder what they changed for 2019 besides the graphics.
  13. My 750 release is at the end of its 3rd season. I had a few pre-releases lately, and it was obviously time to replace the inner parts. As the legs already started to rust and I didn’t feel comfortable opening everything up and taking it apart, to only change the spring, I just bought the new 840 release. I Iike the fact that it is stainless.
  14. Thanks @LOTW! That is in line with what I read on the Reflex page... I just wasn’t so sure where to mount the legs of the new 840 release when using the older style boot. Until I found this picture on the Reflex site...
  15. Hey ballers, I just upgraded my Reflex front plate with the new 840 Silvretta. As the shape of the new legs differ from my old setup, can someone in the know please confirm if I used the correct holes for mounting the release legs to the aluminum block? Thanks in advance! David Old: New:
  16. Happened to me on various Vector, Strada, and Vapor boots. The rubber insert in the heel is definitely a weak spot on these otherwise great boots!
  17. Hate to say it (I’m a Malibu guy) but the 196 handles rough water noticeable better than the response.
  18. I would go with two-tone domed numbers. Silver outline, blue color and put them right underneath the rub rail. On my 2010 I put the stickers just above the rub rail. Looked nicer and much cleaner w/o them tho. ;)
  19. I know it’s not what you asked for, but your pull out is wayy to short and you end up super narrow right from the start. Then you have to fight the whole way through the course, pulling long and forcing turns. I found that getting a good, wide start sorts out many other things rounding the balls. You get more speed, you can edge change earlier, do proper pre turns, ... Try to get much wider/higher on the boat for your set up, then stand up slowly, chest facing downcourse get in a good stable glide with the weight over your front foot before turning in to nail the gates. If you do that everything else gets easier. You might have to adjust your timing for the pull out and turn in as you get wider, but I can assure you, it will be rewarding!
  20. 94 when we left on Saturday. Disgusting. ;) Clermont, FL that is.
  21. Exactly! It’s where I usually spend my 4th of July weeks to escape the Florida heat for a bit. Awesome site, great coaching, brand new dialed in boat, lots of cool people to hang out with and Lake Lure is always worth a visit. Picture from yesterday...
  22. I would go with an older Response. It sounds like you are on a bigger lake, so go closed bow. These boats have no known issues, are very reliable, track very well, and they throw the softest wake even at lower speeds. I’m a bit biased though (in my 3rd Response closed bow now and I absolutely loved every one of them!). From MJ 2005 on they come standard with the Malibu Cruise Control which is a paddle wheel based speed control, totally sufficient for open water slalom sets! The Nautique 196 handles rough water a bit better and it’s bow is a tad bit higher which helps in open water but a common issue is the muffler cracking on these boats and they might be more expensive than a similar Malibu.
