  1. Great weekend at Hilltop; lots of super skiing to watch. Now if I could figure out how they do it?!
  2. Last time I did it I took it to a local radiator shop. They can repair or replace it
  3. Maybe turn his wake board bindings to better emulate the ski stance and practice on that 1st to build confidence??
  4. The cabana sounds like it will be fantastic - maybe it could be an ad on prize as a raffle at the scheduled events- I would buy a ticket to wake up to that view!
  5. @KellyChipman skied again this morning; for me no significant water up leg on my starts so far. Also, suit dried overnight with a box fan on it.
  6. Skied tonight, 1st review - medium fits my 5'11" 160 lb frame nicely. Suit material appears similar to friends Camaros but seems more durable - time will tell. Excellent large tooth zipper. When I jumped in, no "water thru the zipper" hit. Very flexible, comfortable to ski in; great for this time of year here in W WA. Best of all, made back to back 34mph 15 off's - made my 1st one ever last fall, none since. Maybe it's the practice, maybe it's all the BOS reading & videos, or maybe it's the new suit? So far, I am STOKED with my purchase! (sorry, had to say that) Thanks @Thomasasher for excellent customer service; I will do my best to shop Stokes in the future. And thanks BOS - I would not have found Stokes without seeing ads here.
  7. I would add duct tape or rescue tape over the epoxy for a little extra support
  8. Two private lakes, one 30 min the other 15 minutes. I feel spoiled.
  9. Oh Boy, suit arrived today - PLUS 5 bonus stickers for my beer fridge :)
  10. Twin turbos - would that affect a pull through the course? Any current tugs have a turbo??
  11. Saw one at the boat show. My 1st thought was how would it smell skiing behind one?
  12. Love the heater on my feet as a winter Washington skier; add the heater hose in my coat & I can drive all day. Heated seat is a nice bonus but for me a good heater is the priority. And don't forget the hot shower to turn your feet back from blue to pink after a set!
  13. I am an HO fan, on a 2016 Superlite. HO has a good demo program, consider the Omni carbon. Besides really improving my skiing, the ski is SO much easier on the body. Starts are a breeze and at 61 yrs I am doing 8-10 pass sets and looking for more. I ski 32/15 working on 34's
  14. Not trying to be a smart a** and hope you don't think I'm an a** hole but in my experience most a holes don't realize that's how they are perceived.
  15. This was recently discussed! https://forum.ballofspray.com/discussion/21739/finding-a-slalom-course#latest
  16. I ski 30's easy, make about half my 32's, get 3-5 balls @ 34mph for reference. My best passes are all with "long holds", which mean I get a longer pull & get wider/early before releasing and initiating my turn. When I let go early I end up narrow every time and then have trouble finishing the turn and getting angle (at least that's my read on my skiing!)
  17. @OldGuysRule come visit the great PNW! I have skied 16 consecutive months (gotta love the dry suit) and made it out 34 times this year. In past years my goal was 30 all year; global warming seems to be working for us here!
  18. I used a fish finder in search of a platform. Never found that but the course anchors, subs and lines were easy to see in 6-15' of murky water
  19. I ended up in the ER last year washing my leg in the shower - thought I herniated a disc; just a muscle spasm - sucks getting older!
  20. I'm a veterinarian; science based training; drug doses in metric (mg/kg) as well as US (mg/lb) - my brain is still US but at least I can "speak metric" with my colleagues.
  21. @Thomasasher Big thanks for the quick reply - will order today and give a BOS review after I break it in! Love new neoprene!!
  22. @tel lol I knew that was coming! I am a big fan of neoprene and like to ski nice & warm. You need to find me a hot tub to ski in if you want to see me in trunks - just my old man personal preference.
  23. @Mick04 thanks; I was thinking that was the case; how was it size wise - I'm 5'11" 160 lb ave build; thinking medium based on their chart
  24. Interested in getting a Stokes 3/4 leg wet suit. They list the Superflex Slalom and also the Superflex Pro - $100 more. Any comments on one vs the other would be appreciated. Thanks
