  1. I've only logged test sets because the boat ramps are closed and we can't get our course in but it seems to work well on iPhone, iPad and Windows 10 PC. I have not encountered any bugs.
  2. I was originally unsure how we would be affected but now they have closed all the ramps near where our course is so I now sure I’ll be skiing less. Couple ramps are open on the lower part of the river but there is the small problem of getting up the water falls. Super frustrating :(
  3. Road trip and stop at some ski sites on the way back then take me and @pullhard for a tow once your back in PDX. ;)
  4. Logging some test sets and it occurs to me that it would be faster when entering passes that it default to the prior pass instead of the system default. Also, if the prior pass was complete perhaps it could increment the speed and/or line length. Thanks for your efforts looking forward to logging real performance.
  5. Took a quick look, and it looks great. Only issue is see is that a web app requires an internet connection is required which might be an issue for some. Looking forward to getting better weather and no COVID-19
  6. @osski I guess I’m envisioning a tour type format. Each day of skiing is a “tournament”. We do a cold off the dock set or sets for a score. Final score adjusted by handicap and a winner is declared. Each “tournament” adds to the tour score. At the end of the summer the tour winner is declared. The handicap needs to get adjusted as the tour continues so that things get more and more competitive.
  7. Love the idea of handicapped competition with my ski crew!
  8. Great idea, some initial thoughts is to include planning and goals for the day, set, season. Journaling feature would be good so you can record how the set felt, what your mood is, etc.
  9. Power Line Cove on the upper Willamette River, Canby Oregon
  10. I’d like to get a chance to ski with my dad. As the family story goes, my mom and dad taught the entire community of Waldport Oregon how to ski after a trip to Florida. I remember him skiing when I was little but by the time I was skiing, he wasn’t. He used to drop me and a friend in the river before I was old enough to drive and then come back a few hours later. Thanks Dad :)
  11. I’ve done a basic weight machine workout for decades but last year, I picked up the intensity, dropped 15 pounds and added the routine I found here: https://www.boatingmag.com/features/2014/06/18/how-to-slalom-strong/ Made a huge difference in my skiing. When there is nobody else on the course and my friends are done skiing, I can keep skiing until the gas is gone. ;)
  12. Here is the thread I think @skibrain is talking about. https://www.ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/18838/my-top-ten-most-influential-skis-ever-list/p1
  13. I’m amazed at how often me and my buds can roll up on the course and be the only boat regardless of time of day or weather.
  14. @RichardDoane What carpet did you use for the bunks? I need to recarpet my bunks for my 85 Centurion. I’d like to get your recommendation. Thanks
  15. @JennyLaBaw Loved the episode and looking forward to part two. A fair number of us struggle with elbow tendinitis (https://www.ballofspray.com/forum#/discussion/22607/handles-for-elbow-tendon-issues/p1). I’d love to see your expertise applied to the issue as either a stand alone program or part of a more comprehensive ski program. Seems like there are lots of anecdotal fixes and causes floating around. Thanks for considering, Kent
  16. Been a great year for me: Got my first new ski since 1982 (Radar Senate Alloy) Best physical condition I’ve been in for a long long time New handle that helps with my elbow pain which contributed to my skiing semi-retirement More sets in than ever before Went from feeling over my head at -15 34mph to consistently running -22 and chipping away at -28 Season is coming to and end here in the PNW but hope to squeeze in a few more sets and just maybe run that -28 at least once. Kent
  17. Not sure about the lithium but the alloy and graphite come in 65 for 2019. I have a 65 alloy as my local shop did not have any graphites. I love the alloy, I don’t have ideal conditions a lot and it works great in rough water. I’m 5’6” 145 lbs skiing the course at 34 MPH.
  18. @Spitfire I’ve got the same story as you just getting back into skiing at 60. I’ve still got my 1985 Ski Centurion and been skiing on my 1982 Jobe Open class. I decided to try some newer stuff and really like the 65” Senate Alloy I ended up with. On my demo sets I ran 22 off 34 mph for the first time in 30 years. I’m about the same size as you so it should fit you well. While I’m exclusively skiing the course, we have had lots of wind this year and it goes great so should be a great open water ski. Just my .02 Kent
  19. My senate alloy goes great in rough water. We recently skied the course on a very windy lake and was amazed I could get through the course at all it was so rough.
  20. Check your fuel lines, you might be sucking in air through a crack or loose connection.
