@mpxj fwiw, I ended up getting the 2001 boat mentioned in the referenced thread above and I absolutely love it!!
So, if you can find a 2001 or newer in your price range, I would go in that direction.
Had some open water fun yesterday with @Pullhard and my new (to me) Prostar. Really love my new boat!
Water 52, Air 70
Course goes in at the end of the month :)
@Nicourrutia I am you size and the 65 senate works great. I ski 34 mph but have slowed down to 28 to make a video for a friend and the ski still worked well.
If you haven’t already, you can set up searches for multiple cities. Search the major metro areas for as far away as your willing to drive to pick it up.
Fair number of eagles and osprey but never seen a rabid beaver let alone gators or water moccasin. It’s not Florida ?
Others beat me to the location which is upstream from the Willamette park boat ramp about 5 minutes. Skis is pretty nice most of the time p, when the water is low it’s really nice.
@mfjaegersr great vid of the dead end drop.
I had golfers elbow. Got an InTow bent handle, did the Brad/Bob PT, Jenny Labaw stretching, grip strengthening, started using two hands on top for deep water starts. All these little pieces gave me a pain free season.
Returned to chasing buoys a couple of years ago. It’s given me motivation to eat right and get in the gym (at my advanced age :) ) and gives me a reason to hang out with a couple of life long friends.
@mfjaegersr with the recent heavy rains is probably pretty bad. I have not seen the river since I got back. Course is out until end of April when the water level coves down. Yea, the dead end is a little unnerving. Freaks out everybody I’ve taken out there.
Made it home last night with no issues and clean dry roads and only a slight sprinkle of rain outside of Eugene. She was a little dusty but no other nicks or chips from the journey.
@mfjaegersr yep, I think she will. :) Maybe see you out there sometime.
@swbca last year was my first year with speed control (PP/Stargazer). PP support is excellent and there is a hugely informative thread here on getting the background setting dialed in.
The cover is trailerable but the current owner does not use it that was for the reasons you all stated.
So, I think I’ll tow it naked to Redding then wrap and cover until I get to my daughter’s place it Medford then tow it naked the rest of the way home.
Thanks guys, I’ll. check with the MC dealer here. I’m not hopeful as I’ve never seen a prostar there.
How about if I do the pallet wrap and then put the cover over it to protect the hull from wind whip?
My previous boat had a super tight custom cover so didn’t think about wind whip issues.
