  1. I've been skiing more than my husband the last few years. He has just lost interest in course skiing. I quit doing tournaments about 5 years ago, just too boring.
  2. Yup Except when a snapping turtle is close by then its close to @lpskier's "get me the f$&k out now!"
  3. That sounds like a lot for a TSC1 hull, even with an open bow. We paid $22k for a 2003 With 400 hours several years ago. I recognize that dealer, we used to buy our club boats from him. It was called Son Watersports back then, they sold a lot of Nautiques.
  4. Nice! And great choice, we also bought a 2003 196 a few years ago.
  5. @OldboyII, I used Kevlar glove liners from Underware. I think some of the ski glove companies also make them, but not sure if they are Kevlar. I've used some in the past that weren't, and they didn't work as well. I think I bought my last pair at Tommy's in Denver. I've also bought them online through motorcycle websites. I swear by them, they prevent me from getting blisters on my palms. But it looks like they were also keeping me from blisters on the side of my finger. I had to switch to Neo Palm protectors this summer due to Dupytrens Contractures. This gives me hard lumps in my palms which really hurt when grabbing a handle. Looks like it might be time for surgery again this fall....
  6. I was bruising the top of my rear foot real bad with a RTP, I was always afraid of breaking the bones. This is why I switched to double boots, they fit my boney high arches.
  7. @BRY, glad to hear your wife likes the Radar Bliss, it's hard to get any input on women's gear. I also have been using the palm protectors this season. I've used Underware glove lines for years, and think the switch to palm protectors has caused this blister.
  8. So what is the verdict on the inside out gloves? I'm looking at the women's glove. I've been rubbing a blister on my left index finger with my HO Kevlar gloves and need to change! Not many choices in women's gloves, and men's are too short in the fingers and too wide for me.
  9. I was offered classes on interviewing and resumes after being given 'early retirement'. One thing they enforced was writing a short letter and thanking them for taking the time to interview them. I had intereviewed at a local gym for a personal trainer position, sent a thank you letter a few days later, they called about 3 days later and offered me a job. I think that letter is what ultimately got me the job.

    TriStar 220

We had a 1993 Sport Nautique, it was great for open water. Rode much better than the MC 205 for that same era. It also skied pretty good, I think they had a sweet spot on the wake at 15' off and 30-32mph, it was better than a friend's 1992 SN196, faster and shorter were about the same as the 196. We ended up putting a tower on it, with a little extra weight it was also great for wakeboarding.
  11. This wind is relentless this summer, I haven't skied since Saturday.
  12. @storm34, how was the clinic? I was hoping to go, but had relatives in town that weekend. He came up to Dream Lake on Friday afternoon for a while, but I was also tied up that day too.
  13. In addition to pull-ups, farmer carries, and deadlifts, I like to do heavy kettlebell swings. The larger kettlebells usually have a thicker grip to help build grip strength. Also, in the off season I use Fat Gripz when doing dumbbell work. The meatheads at my gym swear by them to strengthen their forearms. You will have to back off on weight a little when using them. The first time I used them, my grip was so trashed the next day I couldn't hold on to my dogs leash. So don't use them during ski season!
  14. I'm thinking about getting a new Vapor, this is the seventh season on my D3 Z7ST and the hubby thinks it's about time for a change. I love my D3! I am 56, 155, max speed of 32. Would I notice the difference between the Lithium and Graphite?
  15. Get a foam roller and use it on your calves. lay roller on the floor, rest 1 calf on roller, other leg crossed over bottom leg for more pressure, Roll the length of your calf, outside, and inside. If you feel a tight spot, hold in that area until it releases (this can be painful). Stretch your calves when done.
  16. What do you think of the graphite version of the Vapor and Senate? Coming from D3 and max speed of 32.
  17. @RazorRoss3, it was obviously the fact that you were a hawkeye! Could also have been all the partying?? Des Moines does have a strong financial base. Wells Fargo and Principal are the big ones. I used to work at the Federal Home Loan Bank, they just expanded with a merger with the Seattle bank. The only problem with Dream Lake Estates is the wind.
  18. Anyone use the Cipa Vision 180 mirror?
  19. Try the Des Moines area for a job, we could use some young blood at Dream Lake Estates.
  20. When will this wind ever stop? I've only skied 3 times this year.
  21. I'm sure our lake is white capping today
  22. Loved going to the pro tour in Minneapolis late 80s and early 90s. My husband still has a t-shirt from 1989.
