  1. Sad news, John was my lawyer from 91 to 94 and was just a nice big guy.
  2. @Wish Nicole Arthur coaches in Orlando year round.
  3. I have been using an "R" type myself for 3 years now and like it a lot better than the rear Animal I was on before it and skiing in Scotland it helps keep my back foot warm.
  4. Skied tournaments for the past 10 years but don't feel as though I am competitive anymore, going to take a couple of years out of tournaments and hopefully come back better equipped for Senior 4 (UK 65+).

  6. I am with you @BraceMaker, same thing happened to my A1 this summer and it fixed fine with Araldite. Normally you would drill a hole at the end of the crack to stop it spreading but as it isn't really structural at the tip I didn't bother and it has held up well.

    It's Back!!!!

I obviously know nothing as my 33 year old son thinks it looks good.

    It's Back!!!!

That is ugly, I could only describe it as an explosion in a paint factory.
  9. I have been using my Kodak ZX3 for a few years now with no problems and good results.
  10. @BraceMaker I just used the lead tap hoping the studs would bind up but I was through the insert very quickly so I am guessing the inserts are not very deep, the studs are quite firm but I may use some thread lock later if there is any movement.
  11. @Wish it is a Reflex style setup where the front boot releases and the rear boot has no cuff so the back foot and liner come out, I am on the same setup and it works well.
  12. Got my wife's ski 2nd hand and most of the threads in the inserts were shot and had self tapping screws in them, finally got round to tapping them out to 5mm from 4mm was going to use allen head screws but ended up putting studs in and using dome nuts, I am quite pleased with the outcome.
  13. @MattP thanks, it would be good to know if there are other skiers around the world in the same situation and great if BOS could bring them together and maybe get them a new category.
  14. Does anyone know anything reference demonstration categories for disabled waterskiing? We have a skier with a learning disability and believe no category exists for this disability so my questions are: 1. Am I right to think no category exists for learning disabilities? 2. Would this be considered in an application for a demonstration category? Other sports such as swimming do have such categories for competition? 3. Is anyone else in the same situation and been trying to get the information above? Any help appreciated. Cam
  15. Was planning to ski today but the lake froze over on Wednesday, looks like it might be thawing on the far bank, ever the optimist.
  16. www.lochlomondwaterskiclub.co.uk/images24/chris.jpg This makes me happy seeing my wife getting confident on her ski recently after running her 1st pass in the course.
  17. @jimbrake nothing is more scary than the OTFs I took when learning to ski the course, forgot to add that John McElyea was my attorney, never got to see him ski though.
  18. Cam Cavana, Scotland UK, I work as a mechanical technician on an oil rig in the North Sea work for 2 weeks and get 3 weeks off missed Scotland's 2 weeks of summer this year. Started skiing aged 33 on Loch Lomond and joined the local club, moved to Orlando FL for 3 years in 91 and worked as a ski instructor with Vince's and Dave's ski schools teaching beginners to ski mainly tourists. Moved back to Scotland in 94 and have been skiing at Waterski Scotland ever since, the past couple of years have been good as my son has got back into skiing and works as an instructor at Waterski Scotland and my wife ran her first pass of the slalom course this year aged 58, happy days.
  19. @horton I have been stuck at 28 off for years now and I am quite sure what you have just described is what is holding me back, you did comment on one of my videos a couple of years back saying my back leg was collapsing out of my offside, it still is, I should have taken your advice then.
  20. I could see myself wasting a lot of time with that software.
  21. @eleeski true, but we just try to make the most of it, it worked for Nicole Arthur and Stuart Wood, both became world champions training in Scotland. You can't leave without a ski, our site is just North of Edinburgh and we run around six competitions a year two of which will be three event. Looking forward to seeing you (and your ski).
  22. We ski all through the winter in Scotland, only thing that will stop us is ice over 1/2" thick anything less and will usually break it up and go skiing.
