  1. I have been using a Watchbot IP camera to watch our lake for a couple of years now, works really well especially as I live over 50 miles from the lake and can check water conditions before I travel. At quiet times I can set up an alarm that sends me email pictures of any movement.
  2. My wife used to drive for me back in the 80's before she lost interest, I must have p****d her of about something as she just stopped. Even though she has started skiing again and running the course she has absolutely no interest in getting back behind the wheel again.
  3. Skied with @deep11 today, 2 sets each air 5deg C but fired up with all the current discussions on BOS so just had to get on the water.
  4. Just uploaded the 97 Ladies final @Luzz‌
  5. Taken back in 1995 when I used to slalom, trick, jump, barefoot and even competed in a ski race that year, was never much good at any of them maybe why I was talked into doing this, only slalom now.
  6. Skied today air 41f water colder, put my iPhone under my dry suit and ran the Strava cycling app, got a squiggly line which was a bit disappointing but found my top speed was 46mph (22off/34mph)

    Zero off head unit

Thanks @Jody_Seal, we have the two 12 volts present and when we fitted the dial in the other boat we did not fit the pucks only the main socket and it still didn't work.
  8. The zero off gauge on our 2011 Malibu response has stopped powering up, wondering if anyone else has had this problem and got it fixed without replacing the unit. We have two boats the same so took the non working unit and put it in the other boat but still doesn't work, any help appreciated. Cam
  9. 63 yo this month, had 3 big crashes this year none of which stopped me skiing, I always do a short stretching routine before each set, don't know if this helps or not but am sticking with it.
  10. As a skier I hate when the observer starts a prolonged conversation with the driver which has nothing to do with my skiing, I see it when I am behind the boat and it just distracts me not to mention the driver. As a driver ditto to above, depends on my mood whether I tell them to leave it until the end of the set or just ignore them.
  11. I thought Jamie's didn't count as there was no end of course video, unless he ran it somewhere other than France.
  12. Tony Lightfoot has uploaded it to Facebook
  13. Had planned to give it another month but tempted to get the trick ski out for the colder months.
  14. Thanks @BraceMaker‌ I went straight onto EBay after your post and bought these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/131292527407?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I have been using a pair of these liners since @ral posted about them around 8 years ago and have been looking for another pair ever since

  16. Nice skiing @garn, I had the same experience last weekend and ran my first 32 and pb'd with 1 @ 35 after years of trying, first time in years I have had slack line at 1 ball 35 was like starting all over again. On the bright side still getting pb's at almost 63 is a bonus and back in 2005 my lifetime ambition was to get 1 @ 35 suppose I will just have to up it to 1 @ 38.
  17. @AB‌ see it all the time and know it is one of the things that has slowed my progress in the slalom course, I can still slam a turn to backside the buoy at -28 when I don't have to and either end up swimming or not completing the pass for no reason other than I have always done it that way and it is hard to shake off my bad foundation no matter how I try.
  18. @skialex mine is set just below 5, the lowest I have used it is 4.5.
  19. @skialex‌ your spring tension looks pretty high compared to mine, the only one I saw broken was set at 7, I weigh 180 lbs and have always been set at less than 5 so guessing you are putting a lot more stress on the unit when you release, just a thought.
  20. @skialex like you I prefer the 404 and have bought up a few from snow skiers to build a small stock to keep me going for a while. I don't think the aggression has anything to do with them breaking I was thinking more corrosion due to using in salt water so went to take a photo of one of my older 404's with some corrosion when I realised that the original design also has a "sideways" release (see pic) so it could be that we are using them outwith their original design specification and the sideways/lateral torque could be the cause for the breakages, but I am no expert.
  21. I've been using 404 releases for 14 years and never had one snap but had 2 seize inside after using them in salt water. I have seen one snap but the skier was a lot more aggressive skier than me.
  22. @Chef23‌ woke up this morning without the pain I was expecting. @ThePantsManCan‌ I think the boat was back before I stopped skidding. @BraceMaker‌ it was the front boot that released I was rushing about on the dock and probably hadn't clipped in properly, it happened once before when I put the ski back on in the water after a fall, I felt the release as soon as the ski tip hit the wake any flattening of the ski was caused by me in blind panic mode :o)
  23. Answer to all questions, Kodak zx3 on a home made mount. reflex front with r-type rear, I probably didn't clip it in properly only the 2nd time this has happened in 13 years.
