  1. @MISkier I can't remember the details of the picture, had a go it it myself last year but failed miserably.
  2. Since I retired I have tried not to drink midweek, doesn't always work but it is a plan as it is just too easy for every night to be a Saturday night.
  3. Skied yesterday, UK went into lockdown as of 8.30 tonight so won't be doing any skiing for at least 3 weeks.
  4. I am 68 and had both lenses changed due to cararacts, left eye at 58 in a private clinic and right at 63 on the NHS (UK) results were the same from both. I went for standard lenses which allow me to do most things including driving without glasses but need 1.5 for computer screens etc. and 2.0 for fine print. The reason I got standard is I couldn't get on with varifocals as they made me dizzy so maybe worth trying what kind of lense suits you before any op, easy to change glasses but not so with lenses once they are in.
  5. Is there any rule of thumb when changing from rubber to a hard shell or vice versa on the difference of DFT, I heard years ago to move bindings forward when going to a hard shell. I have been on Reflex style front for almost 20 years but tried a T-Factor last year and liked it but a ball 5 offside OTF on my last pass made me think it was too far forward.
  6. Like @Bruce_Butterfield I modded an original Denali fin to be similar to the CG Classic, I felt it finished the turn better on my onside 2,4 with no change to my offside apart from randomly stopping and firing me out the front, after 3 OTFs I gave up on it.
  7. @Spineofgoo , done before it's Chuck Norris blindfold skiing backwards on a 4x2 with Will and Freddie on his shoulders.
  8. 1st ski of the year didn't go as planned, air 4c water wasn't hard o:)
  9. I have been attempting to run through the slalom course, haven't made it out to buoy one yet o:)
  10. Maybe better with 80's skis as CP was getting into -41 and Will, TW, MB etc. were all ripping it up on pre 2000's skis.

    Rico

20 year old Arron Davies scored a double Rico at the Mapple Pro Am this weekend, but don't think he was too disappointed with two scores of 5 @ 39.5 and a PB.
  12. @Stevie Boy I remember reading that you have just changed to skiing at 32mph, I did this a couple of years ago (67 now) and it is a very frustrating time as my average scores were mid 13 at 34mph and first year they were mid 13 at 32mph, now into my 3rd year high 14 is my average. I have been told we need to ski 32mph differently, some have embraced it like Jonathan Cohen others including me have struggled with it. Skis do make a difference as my Denali 3.4 was great at 13 and I ran it quite a few times before the ski broke, went back on my Mapple 6.0 and am struggling at 32mph. Age has probably got something to do with it but I am now trying some 68" skis and am finding them easier on my body and am hoping this is the way forward.
  13. Tournament PB first and foremost. practice PB off the dock. Practice PB without missing a pass but back to back earlier pass. Practice PB only counts with video or a driver who I know didn't help me, I have ran some great scores where the driver did most of it for me.
  14. 230 miles and spend a 3 day weekend there most weeks, my midweek sets are 55 miles away, my diesel x-type just hit 190k miles.

    New Boat is Here!

@Stevie Boy Yes, Loch Lomond Wakeboard had their 200 wrapped a couple of years ago
  16. @Deep11 believe it or not I would be quite happy if she was pottering up and down the lake and then relaxing with a glass prosecco and chatting with other skiers as long as we still get to spend weekends at the lake. But she is a very determined little little lady and the quest for progress is all her (she was first on the water yesterday), she has been around the game long enough and knows how it works and unfortunately she has got the bug just like the rest of us. Gone are the days where she would go for a walk between sets, now I know that I will find her in the boat watching other skiers. Finally as you know if she hadn't wanted to ski last year I would probably have called it a day and got the pipe and slippers out, all I can say is she seems to be enjoying it just as much as the rest of us o:) <3
  17. Thanks for the input guys, to be honest we have tried most of the advice above and she is slowly improving managing 5@24 last year, we take her up in 1k incriments. The boat is a 3yo stripped out TXI, maybe the wakes just look big as she is only 5ft 0, I like them at 22off 32mph compared to other tournament boats I have tried. @ScottScott trying to get a laugh from a Brit with a link to a US sitcom is like you guys trying to watch a German one, if there is such a thing o:) . In the meantime I am going to get her to watch TWhisper showing us how it is done.
  18. My 65yo wife has been running the course at 22mph for a few years now but hasn't got any further and everyone comments that she pulls after the wakes. Looking for tips or keys for her to work on to stop this any help appreciated. Video from last May, we hoped she would improve through the season but she never managed to run 24mph.
