  1. @Razorskier1 scores here http://www.iwwfed-ea.org/classic/14/14FRA301/14FRA301.pdf
  2. Skied with Andy Mapple on Monday and he told me to look for the next buoy at the apex of the turn and it worked fine, I have always looked down course to stop me over turning the ski, or more accurately dropping my inside shoulder.
  3. Just home from the demo day with a new 6.0. Skied the 1st set on my ski to get used to the lake then tried a demo ski which felt OK until Andy changed the fin setting slightly which improved the feel of the ski for me so I bought it. Was a great experience having Andy in the boat coaching for two sets, where else can you get the designer of a ski sitting in the boat setting it up for you and coaching at the same time.
  4. My main reason for booking sets at the demo day was to take the opportunity to have Andy coach me and hopefully leave with a correctly set up ski for my skiing ability and a plan to get more buoys, whether it is on my own ski or a new one I don't mind just looking forward to the experience.
  5. I am going to a Mapple demo day next Monday and have two sets booked with Andy, what are the chances I come away with a lighter wallet and a new ski?
  6. @jcamp the webcast was done by Tom Grey of http://www.webcast-tv.com/ they do Big Dawg, Diablo etc. @Wish yes Nate's announcing was aired, would rather have seen him skiing though but his commentary was great.
  7. Outstanding is the only way I can describe the Masters webcast, as good if not better than live TV. Thanks to Tom I have been able to watch the Masters live all over the world in the last couple of years and every year it has got better.
  8. Great webcast, annoying drone cam.
  9. Added 2 buoys last year from the previous couple of years but still not back to my pre zero off scores but getting close, hopefully add another couple this year :o)
  10. I took this picture of Nicole back in 2003 she has always been out to the buoy line early.
  11. There is a massive gap between options 2 & 3, I am by no means an athlete but ran into 32 mph after my first year in the course but 20 years later have still to run 32 off. At a guess 90% of the skiers in the uk sit between options 2 & 3, I would have thought that running a pass at 28 off is one of the defining points in our sport. Just my 2 cents
  12. In Scotland as long as there are light winds we will ski all year round which includes freezing conditions, we have made a rule that if the ice is over 1/2" thick we won't break it to ski, most of us wear dry suits but some wear good wetsuits and we carry a bucket of hot water to warm our hands after four passes. We don't consider this extreme just the norm as it never gets too hot here so we try to make the best of it, quite sure @Deep11‌ posted a video here last year of our winter skiing.
  13. Skied my 1st set today in a 15mph crosswind, just as I was getting in the boat for my 2nd the wind turned to this, went home.
  14. 15-20mph+ down our lake makes it unskiable as we have no protection in that direction, but we can manage that with a crosswind it is only the gusts that can make it a bit scary.
  15. Got to agree with @horton that this is a tool to be used for skiers at my level who haven't got their stack right yet and not for advanced skiers who are well balanced on their ski, I was told to do this years ago by a UK coach so it is not just a Horton concept.
  16. Probably a "Panda" question but if at 22 off you start a boat's width wide of the 2,4,6 line should you maintain this width through the full pass? The reason I ask is I see skiers set up wide but only do enough to achieve buoy width at 1 ball which seems to me to defeat the point of setting up wide.
  17. @shaneH it's too late he is on one ski and will be hooked like the rest of us. I learned the course weighing 180lbs at 24mph in the eighties when the 15 off rooster was enormous, got to be easier now.
  18. I tried the Warp 8 and liked it but was out of my price range and probably my skill level.
  19. I tried the Warp 8 and liked it but was out of my price range and probably my skill level.
  20. First set of the year under my belt with a baller index of -104.40 along with eight other skiers including @deep11 who managed two sets and a pretty spectacular OTF on the first pass of his first set.
  21. @MattP I spent a week skiing in salt water with that fin before it broke, but I washed it down with fresh water after each set and stripped down the fin block and cleaned and greased it at the end of the holiday.
  22. It was an untouched stock fin that snapped off the rest of it was left in the fin block.
  23. This was found in our lake last year, it came off my HO Phantom when it was only one year old. It was one of the scariest things that has happened to me on a ski, I remember coming out of 3 ball OK but feeling totally out of control by the time I reached the wakes.
