  1. @MattP I have 3 skiers in my family using 404's and two broke last year so I have been buying as many as I can from snow skiing forums and EBay and have yet to pay more than £35 a pair delivered, wish I had thought about this source years ago as I will be sticking with 404's as long as I have got a supply.
  2. Air 50 water 43, strong crosswind and first set in 5 weeks, but still enjoyed it . Can't believe how warm it is, usually having to break ice at this time of year to get a set in.
  3. There is definitely something to this as I have watched @Deep11 improve his tournament score by 8 buoys this season, not bad for someone pushing 50 with years of skiing behind him. But more importantly his skiing looks slower, smoother and in control with less effort, we just don't expect him to miss a pass these days.
  4. For as long as I can remember we have had problems with swans in the slalom course on our lake, this year there were no swans but it seems to have been silly season for the seagulls, they just sit in the course or on the jump and don't bother to move when we are skiing towards them, but when they decide to move they have been flying straight at the boat or the skier.
  5. You could mention to him that a dedicated HO binding would probably be at stock settings in the centre holes, but as a Reflex plate is made for use on most manufacturer's skis stock settings will be different through the manufacturing range, that is why there are so many holes in the plate.
  6. @Garn, I am 180lbs on a 67.5" S2 and it works well for me at 22 & 28 off, my weight has always been in the middle of two ski sizes but have always went for the bigger ski with no problems i.e. 68" Monza 67'5 A1.
  7. Intuition Morrow liners, they were on sale at $30 a pair a few years back, wish I had bought more than 2 pairs. My loves her FM Pro Tours.
  8. The system was about 6 months old so we got 2 new antennas under warranty from ZO, as we had retrofitted the system to a 196
  9. Same problem we had, I couldn't believe that 2 antennas could fail at the same time but found out that ZO will run on 1 antenna and the only way you know there is a problem is by checking in the diagnostics, so it is really worth checking regularly to see if an antenna has failed.
  10. We had the same problem and it was the antennas that weren't working, you can go into the diagnostics to find this out. ZO supplied us with 2 new antennas under warranty pretty quickly.
  11. Is anyone using a Reflex boot on a 67.5" S2? and if so what DFT are you using? I have mine at 30" just now but it doesn't feel as good as when I tested a ski at 29 1/2", so I am planning to move it back.
  12. @SkiJay I became a grandpa 2 years ago and although I didn't know what to expect it has been one of the best things ever to happen to me, I have got a ski ready for her but if she is not interested I won't care.
  13. I am going to take @MarcusBrown up on his offer.
  14. I have used Chet before and got a quick and positive response from him, have just got to remember to revisit the advice he gave me.
  15. I video most sets, apart from the obvious advantages I think it is good to get used to a camera in the boat as I always seemed to have a stinker of a set every time the camera came out, probably tying too hard for the camera. Now I have one less excuse.
  16. I am still using my 2001 SkiTech front boot, it has at least 10,000 passes on it but I see a lot of the new hard shells breaking within a year.
  17. Nice video @Deep11, some more video from WSS today, young Chris thought he was smart not skiing today this video proves different.
  18. @Gloersen that just makes me jealous, I may be a Scot by birth but my ancestors were Spanish, I yearn for warm glassy water.
  19. Yesterday air was 0 C and water 2 C but lake had frozen overnight, broke the ice up but it kept drifting into the course so no skiing.
  20. At Loch Lomond waterski club we do a fancy dress waterski for charity on New Year's Day every year most adults don't wear wetsuits for the event, it can be pretty cold for anyone that falls lochlomondwaterskiclub.co.uk/LLWSC%20events.htm
  21. Living in Scotland we would have to consider changing the oil if the temperature was to get hot, we have an open loop cooling system and once warmed up temperatures are fine, we also run on LPG so have to make sure we don't let the the boat idle too long before it is warmed up or the gas will freeze. @MS the guys in wetsuits also use toe loops, I can't do that. Going out again tomorrow as long as the lake isn't frozen.
  22. Had two sets and survived, seven of us skied, four in wetsuits.
  23. Air 0 degrees C water 4 degrees C, it was nice to get out and stretch the muscles.
