What does it mean when someone says a ski is a "first" and how does that matter? Another way to ask this question would be is my ski NOT a first? Is this why I can't run 35? And why didn't anybody tell me this?

Could someone enlighten me (and maybe others) to exactly what a factory first is, what it means, and how it correlates to ski performance?

He did an interview with waterski magazine years ago. I believe he was able to run 41 at 34 as a youngster in practice. If anyone knows how to dig that up it might be cool to reread, (and check my facts)

Anybody have an extra sequence plate they want to get rid of? Mine is wearing out at the binding mounts.

Been skiing 2 seasons on an A2, friend convinced me to throw bindings on his son's 67 inch 2010 Strada and it fit my style immediately. I know there's a few on ski-it-again but if anyone has one collecting dust and could part with it I would definitely like to chat.

I don't have the original flex numbers. I keep it in a bag in a covered boat always. I run an occasional decent 32 still. I mainly stay at 28 while I nurse an injury and attempt to achieve efficient easy passes (yeah right). Great feedback, thank you.

@Bill22 ha that's funny, in a way it sort of is. My ski's life is basically my ski life!

How many 28 off passes at 34.2 will a ski last? I calculate I run about 180 per season and been on this ski 2 seasons. Its a 66.5 2012 A2.

Just keep in mind the root of this thread is: -32 off 34mph U.S. Gear straight with curved ends .940 diameter Lg pro locks with dowel in Knew I had slack out of 4 (onside turn) Went to throw the handle towards the boat and I went with it via my left hand, and didn't come free until the strap broke. Now that I look at it like that I am answering my own question Still appreciate all the input and feed back, Ty.

Great feedback, I have had hang ups without dowel too, so I have to lean towards bigger handle diameter or conventional gloves. Skiing does sound like fun.

@wish, nice, I never thought of that, I'm at .940, I assume bigger is safer? Go 1.0? I have lg gloves. Thanks.

I have had my left glove get "hung up" on my handle a number of times, it happened more with Vices then it did with my new and preferred Pro Locks. It gets stuck at like 6 ball and by the time i free it up i miss the pass. last one was different, went to throw the handle to avoid slack hit out of 4 ball and left glove didnt release causing me to be be ripped forward and dragged, the glove strap tore off before anything worse happened. What causes this? Is it my US Gear handle with the curved ends? Are these not for me? I take every safety precaution concieved, and love these gloves for the lack of blisters. Lately when approaching the course I have noticed the left strap kind of flipping over in my palm and have to regrip before gate pullout. Anyone else in this boat?

Small update or FYI, seems to be more of a technique issue, where I was not bringing my extension back to my hip, whereas if I deliberately move the handle from extended to closed I get awesome angle from wide without a ton of load (much like a good gate) this gives me way more time to get right for the wakes. The ski seems to really respond to just that one move. Never noticed it til now.

I tried electrical tape cuz it seemed to have similar properties to the stuff D3 uses which is really fun pulling off-beats a new phone any day. It seemed ok, but I still have a lot of marks but that may be unavoidable.

Just FYI I am accidentally disliking all over the place. Poor thumb control, or my thumb dislikes stuff.
