  1. I get amazing turns when I extend and then twist my palm down, always thought the conscious effort just made me more patient in the turn. Like it was something to do other than thinking about when the turn is going to finish.
  2. 66 inches from tip to tail along the bottom
  3. Arc was 65.5 at the most, less when I went straight from end to end
  4. i measured following the contour of the ski.
  5. Is it weird if my ski has a sticker that says 66.5 and it only measures 65.5?
  6. I am going to give single plates a whirl. Probably too many variables to properly assess.
  7. Any one know what effect to expect if I go from sequence plate with the floating spacers to single plates? I can run the singles with or without floating spacers. My weak engineering skills tell me to go without floaters on single plates to compensate?
  8. the key to skiing off an old boat is to ski it MORE, that will shorten the time it takes to rack up hours and be replaced with a newer boat. Just sayin.
  9. Gloves handles ropes don't make it thru 1.5 seasons
  10. The stuff I got was at one time new with latest and greatest innovations. In 3 years from now I'll have what is amazing right now. I can wait, it's closer to my budget and is relatively the same stuff.
  11. @Jody_Seal Hi, I was troubleshooting my 2002 SN with a pro sport 5.0 last year and replaced a fuel pump, I got it at autozone but it is marine grade. Looks just like the old one but original one had more coating on it. Should I fix that? And I'm ok if this is the stupidest question ever. However, I did have a reputable dealer solve my issue, go thru the engine and he never said anything about pump, I think I even mentioned to him to look at pump to make sure I installed it properly.
  12. Wake up and loosen some joints, stretch some muscles, get a little blood flowing, 10 minutes.
  13. ship it to me, ill put it up against my own homemade device and see if it is better in the categories of quality of video, convenience, and safety. if i find it wins in a combo of all categories ill keep it. pretty sure ill be sending it back though.
  14. The New England season runs from March 1st to November 30th
  15. I vote, but with a question; I can describe (without proper coaching or video) 2 types of turns i get at 28/32 off. 1 type of turn seems to end at the ball, leaving me plenty of time to pull like crazy into the wake and be early for next ball. The other is newer and seems to end more at the wake, it FEELS like the same start of turn but has a prolonged finish that draws what seems like all the way back to the wake. Which one should I be focusing on most?
  16. Ski in the rain, the cold, into the sun, in rollers, in wind, ignore it all and ski.
  17. Run back to backs of an intermediate pass, go off the dock at a challenge pass
  18. Back in the old days I remember reading about tips like wear a baseball hat and push the visor way down to force the skier to keep head up, and tying a bungee around the knees to keep them together-didn't read all the posts maybe those were mentioned.
  19. After seeing @adamcord's diagrams, I think of an old but never verbalized thought of mine: Could someone create diagrams or visuals of what is happening to a fin under water at different settings to increase the what-is-going-on awareness?
  20. Wow, this thread is a freakin clinic, I have found the thought process of Pro skiers to always be super helpful, thanks to all for contributing.
  21. @Horton‌ yes I should rephrase as never as "well" as Seth, like never ever.
  22. @chef23 awesome point on pulling long, Ive always been skeptical about bringing it up. It is a great drill for me when I feel weak behind the boat, I'm sure I will advance to 35 and 38 soon. I am not going to do it like Seth, that would take me years on the water.
  23. Yes @horton, (not to break this thread but) I got to a point where I couldn't tell if I was purposely countering or was approaching apex already countered because of position at second wake. But that topic will start to get out of my league.
  24. This season I stayed at 28 off a lot just to try new techniques/moves. My best was to keep it simple, get good position into first wake and get going (speed), then at second wake I would just think to myself: "keep upper body and core strong and aimed outbound off wake", this helped me eliminate a long time bad habit of looking for the buoy too soon. It felt like I was trying to twist away from the boat at the last second but I don't think I really was. This counter-intuitive "move" created space I've never really had before and never really even thought about the edge change. When I was on with this, I could run 4-6 28's in a row that would feel like 15 off. Also put my gate under the microscope and changed a couple things. Also practiced counter-rotation alot. It's great to have the time and facilities to experiment and break bad habits.
