  1. I disagree agree @Horton that just because most over 35 pros,or former pros, choose not to ski 34 mph in tournament, that whoever does, shouldn’t have their performance recognized.
  2. That’s correct @Jody_Seal IWWF only maintains division records for scores achieved in the 35+ world championships. So event records, but not world records, per se.
  3. The Elite was capable of producing big scores, and also, at times, near death experiences!
  4. This is what I get when I try clicking “Unread Content”.
  5. Thanks for sharing stories about your dad with us,Mike. I always shook my head in amazement when he did that hip slide, and ended up skiing away! It’s impossible to verbalize the impact your dad had on our sport. Not only as a skier, but more importantly for the person he was.
  6. Thanks for all you and your crew do, and do so well, for your customers, Bill!
  7. I have zero knowledge of permitting a slalom course in Florida. I would think a Google search would provide information. It’s probably under the jurisdiction of the Dept. of Natural Resources, or whatever it’s known as in Florida. You may also have to get signatures from a certain percentage of the lake property owners. The fact that there were courses on the lake in the past, may help your chances for approval. Does your neighbor know if the old courses were permanent? If they were, the anchors may still be in place. If you do go the portable/cable type route, you don’t have remove it, once installed, unless you’re only able to get permission for a course that must be removed when not in use. Jon Travers, obviously is an excellent source for all things slalom courses. Good luck!
  8. Yep! Western “Wood” didn’t fit as a name for honeycomb skis, but “Stinger” did.
  9. As an Alabama fan, (my son’s alma mater), and a Midwesterner. I want to point out that the four Alabama jumpers who finished in the top eight, are all members of the “Midwest Air Force”, and are out of Illinois. They’re following in the footsteps of another jumper who cut his skiing teeth, in Illinois, at the P.I.T.S. Ski Club in Decatur. Some guy known as Freddy “The Nightmare” Krueger.
  10. Just that back in the 70s when I skied at University of Tampa, Elmer, and his wife, Barbara, were pretty much always chief judge, and chief scorer, at every Florida collegiate tournament. Great people!
  11. The folks behind the 55k West events were definitely looking to fill the void left after The Big Dawg Tour ended. Just how competitive are these tournaments? There have been five 55k West events since inception. There have been five different winners! I think there’s a good chance for a sixth winner Sunday.
  12. Vanessa ran 39 in her official site familiarization set for Worlds, at Travers. If not the next, she’ll be one of the next to run it in a tournament.
  13. Kris was also a jumper in his early career. He quit after an injury. That’s why in old photos, you saw him slalom with his hamstring wrapped. I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t also trick in his youth.
  14. I’m pretty sure Joel is taller than Dane Mechler.
  15. Unfortunately, Regina didn’t trick well. Joel may have just put himself back in to contention for overall, with his insane slalom performance!

    HO Demo

If anyone is looking for a 67” (large) Works 02, I have one listed on ski-it-again.com. The last I checked, mine was the only 67” listed. Sorry, not sure how to post a link!

    HO Demo

Did they ever? I’m being facetious…There’s another thread where multiple ballers expressed frustration over not receiving a response from HO after filling out the demo request form. I was interested in trying a Works ski myself. After reading these posts, I decided to give it a try. I had the same experience. Crickets. No hate here for HO, they have great products. It just seems strange that so many requests could have fallen through the cracks.
  18. @lpskier You must be extremely confident that your lovely wife doesn’t read these forums. Otherwise, you’ll need to find a good lawyer…and good luck with that! 😉
  19. @ETskierand @dave2ball There was a “one off” dual course head to head event just last year, (or maybe year before?), in England. They didn’t have the deepest of fields, in terms of all the Pro Tour regulars, but a fair representation. I recall it was pretty windy.
  20. Land of a thousand lakes. I don’t mean Minnesota….I’m referring to Arvin, California! 😂
