  1. Works 02 feels pretty good with stock fin at stock settings. As I said, I’ve tried the Original WF, after riding with factory fins, on D3s, Radars, and Connellys, and for me, they all felt better. I get the Works skis are pretty new, but though this was the place to see if anyone had tried with WF.
  2. Anyone tried either of the Whisper Fins on the Works 01 or 02? (I’m trying both skis.) I’ve liked the Whisper Original on every ski I’ve tried it on, but Fin Whispering website doesn’t have any suggested starting numbers for these skis. (I also have a Whisper Fin Pro, but haven’t put much time on it.) TIA
  3. When I qualified for my first Nationals in September 1976, you only needed one EP. It later was changed to 2 from class C tournaments, or still 1, if done in a record tournament.
  4. I skied Chapala in the 2012 35+ Worlds. Strangest water I’ve ever experienced. If I remember correctly they said it had to do with mineral content. People were slipping and falling on the starting dock. Skiers using rear toe kickers were going to Walmart for nonskid to replace their form pads. If you watched last week’s webcast you, you saw skiers making a conscientious effort to keep their gloves and handle out of the water when possible. Tony made the observation that Alexia Abelson’s mom was covering her feet with wax just before Alexia got into her bindings.
  5. I’m not sure Connelly still builds jumpers. They haven’t appeared on their website for quite a while. So, I believe just D3 (“ dedicated to three event”).
  6. Watch slalom at any International junior or under 21 event. The number of D3 skis versus the other brands is overwhelming. A fair number of South American and European skiers are on Goodes. Those are the dominant two. I’m not saying this to promote any brand(s), just a simple observation!
  7. So much great young talent! Special congrats to Team USA for winning team gold! It was definitely a team effort.
  8. I have both the Carbitex and prior model Vapors. Still use the previous models for testing skis. I wear size 12 shoes, and size 12 in all the Vapors I’ve owned. I’ve never heat molded my liners, but am happy with the fit.
  9. @azuchowski21Is this Mike Meek’s old site?
  10. There’s a YouTube video where Marcus Brown asks Dave Wingerter to explain the characteristics and differences between the 01 and 02. Dave even mentions skis from other manufacturers that would be closest to each ski. Very informative.

    Masters

Bummer that overall titles for open were discontinued long ago. Only 9 NOPS points separated Regina and Paige!
  12. I’m really confused as to who all got in at Jack’s. There were a bunch of 3@41 scores by the men. Adam Sedlmajer, who was one on them, posted on Instagram that he’s in. Also, live scoring showed that in round one, Pigozzi scored 4@41.
  13. The Masters website has all the athletes qualified as of the first of this week, (following the first LCQ). The second LCQ at Travers is happening now. Live scoring on water ski results, has scores from both rounds of slaloms and tricks today. I think jump is tomorrow.
  14. @lpskierTom Brantley is who you’re thinking of. Actually from New Mexico, where he skied open water. He went to Dallas every so often to ski a course.
  15. Apparently. He posted something about hating to have to miss the events due to injury, and wanting to wish his (LaPoint Skis) teammates good luck.
  16. @lpskierI thought you were referring to the fact that Pato Font is listed on HO’s website under water ski team. What?
  17. I’ve also seen several videos recently of Ali Garcia, a longtime Goode skier, on a Syndicate ski. One was even posted by HO. There’s not been any announcement yet, that I’m aware of, that she’s a member of Team Syndicate.
  18. My son received his invite April 3rd.
  19. I sold my 2013 200 5.7 CB with 500 hours last October. Pretty much every option, except Bimini and shower, with a Phoenix single axel trailer, for $50k. The goal, (achieved), was to sell before having to pay winterization and storage fees, as well as being able to cancel insurance. I took delivery of its replacement last week.
  20. I don’t think the driver’s SurePath numbers would have been in tolerance.
